  • In December 1944, Nazis captured Stephen Schweitzer and other American soldiers during the Battle of the Bulge. Stephen secretly journaled about what happened to him and his comrades until they were liberated in April 1945.
Discover how his diary expands what we know about a forced labor camp in Berga-Elster, Germany-and why Stephen’s family donated his diary to our Museum in 2022.

What is sad is the small number of views. Bless his great-granddaughter for having the fortitude and depth of character to do this. Thank you all for donating precious items. Millions of young people need to know the truth, not the lies "schools" and large parts of society misinform with. Thank you for your Holocaust Museum. God's blessings to you.

My father was captured during the Battle of the Bulge as well and was held for 6 months (3 different prison camps), during which he lost 80 lbs. Throughout his life, my dad had terrible stomach issues and left instructions before his death to have his body autopsied. The examination showed severe damage to Dad's stomach and intestinal system with high probability it was caused by him having subsisted on tree bark for long period of time.

I went to your website and found a list of places that experienced genocide and atrocities. I haven't been able to find anything on the current atrocities happening in Palestine and am wondering if y'all have made any statements on the ethnic cleansing and possible genocide happening right now in Gaza?
