A Child in Hiding from the Nazis

- Adrien Sapcaru was a young Jewish boy living with his family in Belgium when the Nazis occupied the country in 1940. In 1942 Adrien was offered refuge by Carl de Brouwer and his family at their home near Ghent.
What a story. Truly, the people who perpetuate evil do not have any idea as to the lives that they are destroying. I wonder what kind of punishment in hell awaits for them. But the kindness of people is always manifested even with the danger of being found out. Still, some people find the moral courage as to what has to be done regardless.
I agree with you on this topic. Why people ignore the fact that one day each of us will have a day of reckoning and it should be said very loudly that this is for an eternity, many people deny the existence of hell. God gave us ten rules to live by and one must remember what He said: love one another as I have loved you and on this we fell short. I often think of trump, Hitler, Putin, the North Korea dictator, Netanyahu and the many lives lost because of them, do they think about it? In my mind they are monsters.
I’m always fascinated with stories of how well children adapted to circumstances, whether by fear. In this situation, the story tells of a smooth transition from own family to another. I’m sure I’m missing something. I guess we can say, the stories we hear of children from the war surviving because they adapted. I’m sure there were many children who did not adapt to changes when placed with strangers or found themselves in odd hiding places without food.
A very touching story of Adrian Sapcaru. The photos and video clips are excellent !!!
Hope he lives happily and peacefully in Canada now.
Would like to know more about his life....has he written and published his memoirs ?
im so glad the children were never captured or discovered
and quite surreal to hear that a nazi soldier was hoding and bringing a Jewish child to his home
It was actually a LOT more common than people realize
But it wasn't a nazi soldier, it was a German soldier. Conscription was mandatory for German men, so there's no reason to assume he was a nazi just because he was in the Wehrmacht. Perhaps you're confusing the Wehrmacht with the SS, which was a nazi paramilitary organization.
The thing is most people in their true sense wouldn't want to hurt innocent people it's just because of people in power we loose the clarity of humanity. That soldier just like any other soldier was following his orders, and by helping the boy he showed he was human.
Where is Monique Mougloski now ?
Hope she too is living happily, leaving behind all the painful memories of her past.
Would like to know about her life story too.
But it happened to you, Sir. So it is still important to acknowledge and share. God bless you.
