How to Fix an Xbox Battery Pack (Quick Tip)

- Hey guys! My friend, Dain, recently gave me the idea to trim the inside portion of my Xbox Battery Holder (on my controller) to make it easier to remove the batteries during game play. I thought I'd make a video showing how I did it.
Thanks for watching!
@RichsMethods The power brick is around $20 online, but you need to get the right wattage. I am not sure which one is appropriate for your system. Different Xbox motherboards require different types of wattage. If your original power brick (the grey box outside your xbox) has the wattage on it you might be able to figure it out.
@xXAA12killaXx My friend Dain is an Xbox "expert" - this is what he said: Sounds like the power brick might be done. It might be worth buying one online, or borrowing one to see if that fixes the problem. Otherwise, the symptoms sound like the fabled RRoD (red ring of death), with the xbox not staying powered on.
As long as you don't remove too much plastic you should be fine. I never had a problem with my batteries disconnecting since I did this. However, I'm sure if you removed too much plastic that could cause a problem.
They probably aren't making contact in the second controller. Try bending the connectors inside of the battery holder up to help the batteries make a connection with the controller.
@RichsMethods Overall, it might be better to just replace the whole system. I know that sux, but you could probably get one used to save some $. It's up to you though.
@RobH0629 Hey thanks. I have to give credit to my friend though for giving me the idea. Thanks for watching!
Do you mean the battery pack is starting to detach from the controller? I'm not sure what you mean.
As long as you don't remove too much it should be fine. I didn't have any problems.
@MajorGr00ve Hey thanks, I got the idea for a very intelligent classmate:)
@bybybigbrothatloves He's like a brother to me, but we're not related.
Hey can you put a video of how to fix a rechareable battery on a xbox controller cause a lot of times the battery does not charge (it's not the charger that's not working) and when I press the trigers on my controller the batter dies and it's not the conntroller ether
Hey i have a problem where i got pure batteries when there fully charged and when i put them into my 2nd xbox360 controller it wont work. Please help me.
this is not worth watching! how does this help! batteries have never gotten stuck for me and if they did it wouldnt keep me awake at night.
Now that I look at it, my batteries do have a really snug fit. Always have just did a little bang to get them out, never thought much of it. But it looks a lot easier to just remove a bit of plastic, so I will definitely try it on my controller. Great job Rich! :-)
my plastic edge of my battery cover is broken.
Can jou please help me?

Thanks!
i think he means the actual pack, i have the same problem :(
you could simply use a magnet and easily drag them out
@elitevyn Thanks for the idea! I actually like the sound of that man. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for proving my point.
Man this video is almost 11 years old and it still helped me right when I needed it! My original 360 is still kicking but never put ikea batteries in the controller, they will get very very stuck.
