Great combo, but only 140 watts to internal speaker, still pretty darn loud if need be. Also the available cover is the best I've ever had. Just a killer rig. Having owned the Ampeg combo's and the Rumble combo's I can tell you the Ampeg's project much better from the stage.

Get a 4ohm internal speaker for utilyzing the full 200 watts without an extension speaker?

Fantastic review, love your approach ❤️ I play flats on a P-Bass very much in the 60s R&B style. Can you advise me on an extension cab for this amp when larger gigs call for a little extra? Richard

Would this be loud enough (and full enough) for a 4 piece rock band rehearsal set up (drums, bass, guitar, keys)? We rehearse loud, but not super loud, but the bass player is currently using my vintage B25b head through a 4x12 v4 cab and it will just barely keep up but is very distorted at the level it needs to be at. That amp is truly outstanding for recording though. He was recently new to the band and showed up with a Fender Rumble, the little one with a 10 or 12" speaker and I thought to myself...... Dude, we aren't going to hear you.
Edit: I just watched the end where you said it was easily gigable and for rehearsals... good. Guess I will have to try one to see if it would work.

You will definitely feel the 1x15 in the room more than the 4x12, but the 4x12 will have more punch. That's probably why it is distorting at a louder volume. -- It's also possible that you could drive the 4x12 cab with the extention speaker capabilities of this amp. Thanks for watching, Joe!

I use mine for band practice and gigging in a small club with a drummer, 2 guitar players who play through Fender Twin Reverb or Princeton type amps, and a singer. It's more than loud enough for that with headroom left to spare. The DI out is super convienent for going to the front of house or recording. The DI sounds great as you can hear from his demo.

Good ole cowtown! Im down in the stephenville area and have an old red label yamaha in DIRE need of some wood work on the neck heel, any recommendations for a good luthier in our area would be highly appreciated

The best place in our area is Lamb’s Music over in White Settlement. A little slow with the turnaround, but their craftsmanship is excellent. Worth the wait to get it back right!

So stupid question, but im about to audition for a country/rock group, and both guitarists are using 2x12 combo amps at about 250watts. Would this be ideal for that? Granted the fact that we would all mic up live.

    Great info
If I take mid and treble much past 1+ o'clock I get a clean hissing. Even if nothing is plugged in.
    Is this normal?
I'm setting about same distance from the amp as you are.

    This or Rumble 200 ?

Tough call, quite honestly its bit of tonal difference. Nothing will beat playing each and hearing for yourself. From a "build" stand point, I feel both are built well and gig worthy. My mumble opinion. Keep playing!
