Yes, to the bullies. Also, it seems to be a country where you can get hired with no qualifications or experience in the given field as long as you can make others believe you can do the job and then progress as long as your better at brown nosing.
@@AndyPandy-v7v I've lived in 4 countries and NZ was by far the worst for bullying. The worst thing about NZ though is that Kiwis don't take any criticism of NZ well and treat it like a personal insult.
Hey Andy Pandy, don't be a Namby Pamby and use the greedy employment and business owners Branch of the Labour/Greens/Maori Tea Party woke Alliance as an excuse for leaving New Zealand. Everyone already knows that wages are around 3.4 times higher in Australia, the travel, the weather, the women and the beer are all much better, and then there is the types of really cheap transport modes, be it a bike or a plane and everything in between. That's the real reason, not that the bully boys have won. They cannot get good staff anymore, it is hard to find staff in New Zealand that actually speak english anymore.
The same thing is happening in Sydney to the rest of Australia. The net annual emigration from NSW to the rest of Australia is 30,000 the same as NZ’s to Australia. Due to the ease of movement across the ditch, NZ is basically like a state of Australia. People are naturally moving to areas with lower cost of living and better opportunities.

The only thing we have over Aus is culture. But we don't really embrace it. They have a better economy and a larger population to provide more opportunities.
Australia is actually in bad shape. The mass immigration it is currently experiencing is stagnating wage growth, keeping productivity low, putting strain on schools, housing, roads and health care. Over half of Aussies now have less than one thousand AUD in savings !! The country is becoming a low wage economy and soon to be a third world one
New zealand is falling down in all aspects. Limited opportunity and businesses are going bust, and the price of living is far outwaying the chance to get ahead! You're mad if you want to move here. The medical system is shot and the government ain't helping at all. High crime and poverty is very high here. She's no utopia here aussies.
I only wish I could sign a document promising never to come back in return for writing off my student loan for an education which NZ employers don't appreciate and prefer to hire some brown nosing drop out. The worst thing you can do in a society like New Zealand is invest in education. Kiwis don't believe in it. Look at what they watch on TV!
It is impressive how most of New Zealand's current problems are due to poor government intervention by both parties over the last thirty plus years!!! The fact that today we no longer manufacture but instead import everything, make coffees, and invest in property, instead of business goes back to Labour overnight removing all tariffs on NZ produced items. The fact that all of our highly profittable major banks are offshore owned also goes back to government intervention. The fact that we have an extremely wealthy elite class who were sold state owned assets at bargain basement prices ( Graeme Hart, Alan Gibbs, Fay Richwhite to name a few ) goes back to Labour party also The fact that we have a massive stock of poorly constructed housing goes back to removal of treated timber for framing, scrapping apprenticeship schemes, and privatising building inspectors in the 1990's which were all implemented by the then national government. The fact that despite NZ being one of the few nations that produces more food than the population can actually consume yet has very expensive food eg: a block of cheese is now considered a " luxury " item !! is due to both governments allowing a supermarket duopoly ( today a humble supermarket owner in New Zealand is often an entry level rich lister !! ) The fact that we have a major housing shortage, very low productivity, wage stagnation, homelessness, massive strain on roading, healthcare, and schools, is due to mass immigration of low " skilled " migrants from developing countries which both parties are guilty of !! The fact that NZ, once consistently at the top of corruption free rankings, but now sliding down is also due to mass immigration from more corrupt nations ( India, Philippines, and China ) The fact tha over half of kiwis have little real wealth is also due to high immigration driving demand for rent, food etc Despite all of these slaps in the faces of the New Zealand people and the poor track record of both parties we still loyally vote for them !!
Well that's utter BS. National sold off our power, our kiwirail TWICE, tried to sell off ALL state housing the country and did in fact sell off more state assets in Key's term alone than the previous 3 labour governments combined. Now Luxon is talking about privatizing our health service, Seymore's pushing for private schools and we've got goldsmith meeting with fishing execs, secretly selling off Maori fishing rights before they've even quashed the treaty. Then you get on to Key's funding freeze for the police, novapay not paying teachers for literal YEARS, defunding the medical system to the point it was barely functioning and underfunding education to the point it's getting close to crappy american standards. If there's one party that's done the most damage to Nz, it's National by FAR if we're not being biased. It's not even a competition, it's like comparing a spray painter to a murderer or rapist. And kiwi's keep voting them in
This will not change. Cost of living, especially housing just benefits the haves (rich people). I know a lot of people who own multiple houses, and also a lot of people who struggle to save any money because they missed out on the property market boom.
Australia does not have to get 'back to reality'. The pandemic showed us that mass migration was a fundamental driver of rents. The economy actually functioned fairly well during the period of zero migration despite the challenges of the lockdowns. There is absolutely no need to constantly import cheap labour, net migration needs to be slashed, especially for low skilled workers and students.
Having worked in both Auckland and Sydney, there is no competition - Sydney hands down! The only surprise is that not more kiwis leave to pursue a better life.
Absolutely agree. The endemic parochialism means anyone with an ounce of international experience can't make a difference because the locals are to stu id to see a better way. How much of your negative experience do you think could be explained away by a Christchurch-specific culture problem? Or would you say it's pretty much universal across Kiwis?
@@BayLeafff I found it universal personally. But chch took the cake. There seems to be a "government needs to fix my problems" mentality with the NZ general public. Anyone with your insight generally leaves. I had a thriving practice in St Georges medical centre but I was hunted down and literally abused by public patients who could not afford private services as I offered a very unique skill set. They would ring up and verbally abuse my staff. Many of the public patients complained to Stuff(ed) when they couldn't afford treatment which is a uniquely kiwi thing. If the economy was good and people were earning $$, they could actually afford things on their own rather than rely on government handouts. Christchurch is a place where who you know is very important, unlike international cities where you are sought for your skill. It is a small town where people love to gossip and talk rather than to challenge themselves. The other reason I left is because of this racist Maori crap. I was one in an interview hiring junior doctors when a dentist(not a real doctor) told me that hiring a less abled Pacifica person was better than hiring the more capable white girl because of health outcomes for Maori! What a load of crock!

Australia does not need mass migration, we need to fix our fertility rate by providing people with adequate housing. Majority of new housing in Australia is apartments currently and nobody wants to raise a family in an apartment, that's not what we used to do. We used to build houses with modest backyards. We can still do that. If we cut migration substantially. Our infrastructure just cannot keep up, we need to grow the population sustainably, by less than 100k per year from net overseas migration.

As a kiwi that has lived in Australia for 15 years I go back to NZ for holidays regularly but I wouldn't even consider moving back. I've seen first hand the continual decline of NZ, it is not the place it was 20 years ago. From terrible statistics in health, crime and education to the continual gravy train of Maori grievance that the govt is forced to foot the bill for. In my view NZ is a country that has reached the point of terminal decline and regardless of who the govt is, it's hard to see them be able to change that trajectory without a seismic shift in the psyche of an increasing cohort of kiwis. When you have an ever increasing amount of people look to the govt for handouts with an aging population it's a recipe for disaster. 1 in 10 working age kiwis are on the dole, and when you take into consideration tax credits like Working for Families, 60% of the working age population pay no net tax at all. NZ has become an underperforming and under productive social welfare state. That is not a recipe for success in anyones language.
I'm 20 turning 21 and am considering moving to Australia to be honest a guy at my work lived in Australia his hole life and only moved here to experience it. He said that In the career me and him are in you can expect 10 dollars more per hour. Sounds like the UK, a glorified nursing home. But don’t blame the dole bludgers they don’t cost much, meanwhile tho the oldies on their pensions are sucking the life out of both Australia n NZ. I think it’s at 1/3rd of the entire national federal budget goes to them now while the taxable working population is declining. I thinking banning ownership of a second home & large homes to anyone over 60 will do a lot to fix the housing market. It feels like the boomers are sucking out as much tax payer money as possible while sucking out as much rent money out of us to fuel their retirement. Or as my mate says “playing pokies”.
@Azz156 I agree with most of what you said but I disagree about dole bludgers. If they don't want to work that's fine but they shouldn't get a cent of tax payer money. And I agree about boomers but I disagree on the fact of their pensions if they work their whole life they deserve it. But they shouldn't be allowed to grow fat on housing that I agree on.
Push one problem away (aging population and declining GDP growth) but invite another to be front and centre (declining living standards, negative growth in GDP per capita, housing unaffordability, rental crisis, etc, etc, etc). No thanks

All National talking points. Now they're in power and what a shambles. A manufactured economic crisis, austerity policies initiated won't work to increase GDP, it will increase the public debt, as it has, an additional $20 billion in 12 months. Every country that has employed austerity policies have failed. The real reason of Luxon's austerity policies are to cut funding to services discredit the efficiency of said services and then try to privatize the service. I don't give a toss about mandates or Jacinda, what Jacinda did accomplish is 54 % of popular vote in the Covid19 election and that's a mandate. National"s 43 % is not a mandate for austerity policies.
Wages may be 30% higher in Australia, but that mainly reflects the mining sector which employs just 2% of Aussies. Now that Australia has provided a direct citizenship pathway for Special Category Visa holders, that will increase the number of New Zealanders wanting to migrate to Australia. This would be aided by push factors such as the closure of pulp mills in Tangiwai, Auckland and talk about closing meat works in Timaru.
When every single job advertised today by construction or government agencies requires the applicant to confirm they embrace Moari Culture and Moari ways, it shows what the environment of that business will be. We are leaving NZ because the politics are divisive and employment is restrictive by race if you dont buy into the Moari ways. I was considering a very good self funded retirement in N.Z., but with Jacinda going after the guns and the Greens going after fishing and hunting access, there was little point. In the 1960's Australians used to come to N.Z. for the better opportunities. Lots of politicians stuffed up.
Actually kinda true. Any governing body, especially the local bodies such as councils went woke and still are. A broader context? When europeans cross borders, is this not a brain drain as well? Eg Germans travelling to Poland for work, where are these headlines? New Zealanders have always travelled. So where was the up roar in the early 1900's when Lord Ernest Rutherford travelled to Oxford to split the atom or when Sir Edmund Hillary travelled to Nepal to conquer Everest? Let our scientists and adverturers travel in peace. This is something to celebrate.
Its a different context now. Hardly think that 1900s is comparable to now dude, especially after what the last labor government did. Point being, all your talent leaves. Even Rutherford and Harold Gillies.
Dude, you can't compare NZ to Germany. Not only does Germany have a larger population and economy but they also don't have a higher number of people leaving relative to people coming into the country like NZ does. Germany also has the advantage of hosting a very large pool of talent and expertise, with top notch education and alot more job and career opportunities, which makes them a very attractive destination, also, people who leave don't stay away for as long. NZ on the other hand actively loses talent and expertise every year due to poor wages, high costs of living and low opportunities. A braindrain is when a country loses high quality expertise to outward immigration, with low skilled migrants coming in, but due to them being low skilled they are unable to replace the lost talent. NZ is experiencing a braindrain at an alarming rate, and no, it shouldn't and isn't celebrated. It's odd how you are trying to find a positive in this really bad bit of news because there isn't much to celebrate, this is bad. And using Ernest Rutherford as an example of your point is stupid because you have just proven the problem, he had to leave NZ to accomplish something great, that is talent, expertise and innovation lost.

When patriotism fades, people naturally start looking for better opportunities where they will be valued and treated equally.

@riptyurass302 Can we blame them? Wherever they look, they are being told that they are entitled to "compensation" and racist "decolonization" and "seperatism / biculturalism." Where land was expropriated without compensation, compensation is due based on INDIVIDUAL legitimate claims, paid at what is affordable now and settled with an individual "Treaty" stating that it's fully settled for every individual receiving whatever. Take it, and forever hold your peace, or don't and know that no grievances will be entertained further and the Waitangi Tribunal will be shut down as their job will be done.
The fact that we have an extremely wealthy elite class who were sold state owned assets at bargain basement prices ( Graeme Hart, Alan Gibbs, Fay Richwhite to name a few ) goes back to Labour party also
The fact that we have a massive stock of poorly constructed housing goes back to removal of treated timber for framing, scrapping apprenticeship schemes, and privatising building inspectors in the 1990's which were all implemented by the then national government.
The fact that despite NZ being one of the few nations that produces more food than the population can actually consume yet has very expensive food eg: a block of cheese is now considered a " luxury " item !! is due to both governments allowing a supermarket duopoly ( today a humble supermarket owner in New Zealand is often an entry level rich lister !! )
The fact that we have a major housing shortage, very low productivity, wage stagnation, homelessness, massive strain on roading, healthcare, and schools, is due to mass immigration of low " skilled " migrants from developing countries which both parties are guilty of !!
The fact that NZ, once consistently at the top of corruption free rankings, but now sliding down is also due to mass immigration from more corrupt nations ( India, Philippines, and China )
The fact tha over half of kiwis have little real wealth is also due to high immigration driving demand for rent, food etc
Despite all of these slaps in the faces of the New Zealand people and the poor track record of both parties we still loyally vote for them !!
Same shit talk, a different day
Australia does not have to get 'back to reality'.
That guy is an absolute idiot. Has no idea
Having worked in both Auckland and Sydney, there is no competition - Sydney hands down! The only surprise is that not more kiwis leave to pursue a better life.
Sydney is the best. I was in christchurch for 10 years and returned home last year to Sydney. NZ is such a parochial place.
Absolutely agree. The endemic parochialism means anyone with an ounce of international experience can't make a difference because the locals are to stu id to see a better way. It becomes easier to do things the stupid way because it's just so exhausting trying to explain a more efficient way. @@UA-camispoo-o6d I was a high-level doctor at Christchurch Hospital for about 10 years. The stupididy that I saw in comparison Australian hospital is unbelievable. Seeing the stupidity of adults would throw me in a loop as a child and it still can now that I'm in my mid-20s, it's hard to bear the thought of human ego trashing an otherwise capable public service, though that's obviously the norm.

I thinking banning ownership of a second home & large homes to anyone over 60 will do a lot to fix the housing market.

A Maori tribe is asking for $8 Billion in compensation. This will result in 2 other tribes needing the same. Thus a 4 person family would be owing $33 600 and we're talking only 3 Maori Iwi happy, for now...
It’s unfortunately a situation where you give an inch and they take a mile. Billions have already been paid in ‘compensation’ but somehow damages still need to be paid even though we already paid it years ago.
Also, non Maori ancestors should be deducted from individual claims entitlement as payment by those ancestors to the other ancestors. A new to NZ nurse's family must pay $33 600 for 3 Iwi, for now? Expletive*
This would appear to be out of the Atlas Group playbook. His messages are at best disingenuous.
That wig lol : )
Years of creeping socialism under the Adern Government did not help them much either.
me when i dont know what socialism is
@@scartak *higher taxation and more regulation over the years of the Adern Government.
Happy?
@alexgamble4718 Adern didn't legislate what we can wear in our own home like this Communist lot.
@@alexgamble4718you know nothing. ‘Socialism’ is literally the reason why Australia has higher wages. That being enterprise bargaining agreements aka ‘fair pay agreements’ that Jacinda brought back after Muldoon got rid of them. Based on official Stats NZ statistics, this resulted in higher wage growth but your incoming government wants to get rid of them again. Also do you like 11.5% *on top* of wages, all employer contribution, towards your KiwiSaver like it is by default in Australia? - You voted on emotion and against your best interest didn’t you?
Really… lol. Cookas
I left because of labour taxing policies back in 2006
Bunch of muppets, trying to talk around immigration being a massive problem. What a load of bs.

New Zealand 🇳🇿 has to increase Bilateral Trade with that of USA 🇺🇲.
New Zealand 🇳🇿 ignored USA 🇺🇲.
Under the America first policy what leads you to believe the US would offer you reciprocal trade deal? If the US needed your products they would already be buying them. Don't expect an American hand out.
@@juandoe2696 The American Handout is towards North and South America 🌎!
USA 🇺🇲 isn't Explorative towards the Other Regions in terms of Exports.
@@lokesh303101 no we don't lol
What possible reason would the US have to increase trade with NZ when their anti nuclear policies dont even allow their naval ships to visit ? NZ seems to be pretty friendly with China and never backs Australia or the US when they call them out on anything so maybe they would be better off trying to increase trade with them.
Us is 2 largest import and export partner of new zealand. Infact new zealand should start with Arab nations, African and South Asia and South East Asian countries more. As demand in US is decreasing. As per future demand new zealand should consider high demand regions.
New Zealand needs 2 increase trade with USA
They're too busy not speaking out on chinas abuse to try and keep trade with them, whilst selling out its own people
NZ needs to scrap the nuclear free BS that was just a disguise to not have to meet the defence requirements they agreed when they joined ANZUS. Billions of dollars have been lost in trade because of the souring relations and NZ doesn’t even have a FTA with the US because of it.
Fair enough. I guess it’s a more of an expression. Glad I’m out. 👍
Luxon is no leader and is just after a knighthood. He doesn't get it.
Ardern was the same she got the damehood she was after but only after leaving a trail of destruction behind her while still having the temerity to tell new zealanders to go "shove it"
This is not brain drain, it's just settlers moving to nearby settlement.
Lol thars funny
Lixon nees to resign.
Has anyone consider the difference amount of forthcoming ethnicity. Thing of the amount by 2035.
The host mentioned "diversity" as if that was a positive and is needed 🙄. There is no benefit to "diversity" other than the variety of food available.
Jeez talk about spin WTF!!!
There are way more smart people in this comment section that are in beehive... Lmao

they say kiwis leaving for Australia will be immigrants leaving new Zealand to live and work in Australia a kiwi is born in a nz hospital with a nz birth certificate do the numbers not everyone is a new Zealander
Why do you think the last Australian Govt was up the Kiwi Govt to tighten up their immigration laws. It was well known NZ was simply a stepping stone for those who wanted to come to Aust. Immigrate to NZ gain citizenship, four years, and then straight to Aust. Still happening to this day.
The easiest Australian resident visa to get is a NZ passport. If NZ doesn’t bring their standards up to Australia for naturalisation they need to scrap the visa free policy.

Everyone needs to stop leaving to all countries overpopulation is a real problem and the grass aint that much greener over there, please do research and watch videos you won’t just love over the ditch and be on better pay and more jobs it’s really not like that. Look at videos from aussies who live there… people just hear one thing and totally believe it. Australia are facing their own issue with immigration and you’re gonna contribute to it?
