Girl, this video is so old, probably never read this coment, BUT I’m a soprano with extremally thin vocal chords, It was so difficult for me to sing powerfully and to not “semitone” like “shake the notes” (I’m not a native english peaker rs), BUT with this exercise made a miracle!! THANK U SO MUCH 🇧🇷🇧🇷💚

Hi Jihad, thanks for watching. My best advice to you right now is to just give it time. Your body is going through many changes right now, including your vocal cords. Just be patient! You'll get there.

I appreciate your videos so much, so thanks!

I love your exercises and your confidence thank you for sharing. When you have some free time, can you please tell me what are the advantages for the singing sound or voice of doing the fry gagagaga vocalizes please? Oh cool I saw the end of the video and you are saying singers should rest in between of doing vocal training, yeah? I have asked this question to many voice teachers on youtube none of them have replied so your comment it is very helpful. Like I did 4 techniques yesterday Sunday each lesson lasting 20 or 30 or 15 minutes the rest the teacher is explaining the vocalizes, placement, anatomy etc.. So should I rest a full day yeah?

Hi Marco, great question. About bridges, without hearing you sing, I can't say whether A4 is your second bridge, but it's a bridge regardless of which one. It sounds like this is a vocal cord closure issue. The cords have to thin out here to continue through the next gear. Many singers power up too much (ending up with a forced, labored sound), or relieve all the compression (squeeze) entirely, (ending up with an airy tone.) Try vocalizing with my video "Top 5 Questions about Singing."

Hi Shopies , After trying how to sing with my diaphragm , I was eager to learn how to sing with diaphragm and every day I used to go to internet, youtube, asked every body how to sing and took many lessons with many different tutors … and finally I am in 75 % understanding …. From now how long do you think I will be singing Naturally without thinking about my diaphragm ? Thank you so much for all the lovely videos to help people like me …. Cheers

Hi there, great questions! The most important thing to remember is not to overdo it. Your vocal cords are just like any other muscle in the body. You can't lift 50 lb weights without starting out on 15 lb weights (give or take a pound). Same with your vocal cords. If you are vocalizing with the right exercises, it will take time but you WILL see results. I would recommend vocalizing with my Vocal Primer CD. The website can be found in this video's description.

    Hey CJ,
Thanks for watching. A simple trick to help you during performances if you are having a difficult time hearing yourself or you can't tell if you are singing in mixed voice is to plug one, or both, of your ears. If you can maintain the "buzzing" sound that comes from singing in mix, you are on the right track. This also helps with controlling pitch and volume.

Hi Diamond, try vocalizing with the video "Add Power Decrease Tension". And as far emotion goes, that's something that really starts within. Singing or no. You must truly feel the emotion that you are trying to display.

Sophie, I have broken my nose several times, and have a deviated septum. It doesn't really affect my day-to-day life very much, however it gives me inconsistencies when I am singing. Although I know it's bad for your vocal chords because it dries them out, when I have a sip of alcohol, it really seems to clear my nasal passages and improves my tone. Your warm up techniques help, but do you know of any remedies for clearing up the nasal passages that don't resort to alcohol?

hi sophie, my name is ruben avila and i love to sing. i am currently taking lessons and my chest voice range is from contrabass/basso profundo notes to tenor notes and up to soprano notes with my falseto. but i have a few problems with my singing and i dont know if it's fixable or common among other singers. there are some rare days when i can sing extremely well and my vibrato sounds great along with tone, runs, and hitting high notes. but most days my voice isnt like that and i have trouble hitting high notes and i can barely do runs.
can you please give me some advice or a reason behind my vocal issues? thanks

Hi Sophie, I have some issues with my head voice, I've already found my mix and I almost erased my first bridge completely, but the thing is I could never pass through A4 freely (which I think is my second bridge, correct me if I'm wrong). When I try the lip rolls or tongue trills above A4 it comes nothing but air, I can't even use the "Goo goos" or "wee wee" which are supposed to free my head voice, if I'm right. Could you give me some tips, as I've been strungling with this for 2 years :( ?

I play guitar, drums and piano but I also love singing! My range is D2 - D5 without falsetto. And Ab5 with falsetto. I am aware that I lack quite some technique, but I have a question:
How come I sing "better" without warming up? I know it's not much detail to go from when trying to give an answer. But what's more likely; me fucking up the warm-ups or me not singing right at all? In whichever case, wtf do I do?
    Lovely lesson, by the way!
    Thanks in advance :)

Hi there, the easiest way to get into vocal fry is to try either the "E.T." voice ("E.T. phone home"), or ribit like a frog. Remember, this sound is not like regular singing, but more like a groggy, just-woke-up sleepy sound. Keep it very quiet, and as bumpy as possible. Good luck, and happy singing!

When I am singing alone in my room to myself, my voice is quiet and I can do anything with it, hit high or low but I have a problem because when I'm singing with a microphone or to an audience my voice changes and it's hard to control what I'm singing exactly! Is this normal? Please help? Thanks xx
