HGSS is great but its overhyped and overrated. Most of the issues of the original was retained. -Most new Johto mons are still behind postgame(bruh) -Gyms levels 12-50+. The league, levels 55+. Post game kanto leaders 30-50+(what?) Final boss Red (75-80+) (WTF!?) I appreciate the return of the Kanto legendaries though. Although their absence in the original makes sense since they were canonically caught by Red thus the missing Kanto legendaries in the sequel.

When i Remade Dungeon Dice Monsters, i shorted the Crest Pool to the CP. Then my best friend told me what that meant, so i changed it to the Crest Counter, or CC
These games are not good visually. 3d models will ALWAYS look better than 2d sprites. That's why the only games to use 2d sprites nowadays are Zero-Budget indie games
The only fun part of these games for me was figuring out how to beat Red with a team 40+ levels below his. The gameplay itself was nothing but a drag because of the majority of viable pokemon being from Kanto and the level curving making absolutely no sense. The post-game Kanto was underwhelming as well
I’m glad to see someone ripping into these games as they are some of my personal least favourite Pokémon games and have many flaws people love to ignore.
Hgss is way overrated. Yes it has 2 regions, but johto merely count as one, and both of them are kinda bland. Like sure you get two bowls of yogurt nature, but you could also get instead one of with a good flavour you know? Sure the remake add tons of stuff from the original. But sparkle on yogurt nature doesn’t change his nature itself lol. Still nature, still mediocre to me. Also little rant here, but hgss doesn’t really have a massive post-game like everybody says. Kanto is a part of the main quest. It is not the post-game. The post-game is everything to do AFTER Red. Battle frontier, safari, catching Groudon, kyogre, etc. Pokeathlon and rematch of the gym leaders. That is the post game.
Loved the Original Johto with all its flaws my very first Pokemon, but there is nothing over Hoenn, HG SS were an effin disappointement though. The female protagonist with its stupid balloon hat, where is the protagonist from Crystal, the horrible pokeathlon and this wanna be safari zone, the constant footsteps everywhere ugh, the stupid let your pokemon run behind you I dont want that! Not giving the gym leaders their aces, First Arena with Skarmory and Noctowl, imagine. The forced story around Hooh or Lugia, I dont need that, make Legends Legends again, let me find them by chance and let them be where they come from I dont need Groudon and co in every came, makes no sense. Only good thing was the GBA music player at least something.
The Poke-athelon doesn't make the actual gameplay better. And the slots/voltorb flip takes WAY too long to get coins

Having Sinnoh Evolutions doesn't matter if you need to get to the post-game, or get 48 BP in the Battlefrontier to obtain the evolution items
or not even be able to get them in the case of the area based evolutions

The Pokeathlon is the only reason i replay these games now, I love it when games give me a reason to catch more than just my main party
