It's the nature of Death Battle and something they've spoken about before. It's about a fight to the death so inhibitions about killing naturally have to be removed.
@@shealupkes Not really, they still have the personalities, abilities and so on. Plus the animation is something that isn't supposed to be taken seriously. It's there to give the audience something entertaining to watch and since it's called Death Battle? Well in that animation people gotta die.
A Death Battle where the two fighters were downright amicable and friendly with each other throughout the whole thing, but one’s soul got outright _obliterated._
I love that there really wasn't conflict between those two. It was just like "Yoo wanna spare?" "Yeah, sure" But did Po incinerate Iron First at the end there? Like, completely evaporate from the spirit realm, even robbing him from an after-life?
Yeah it's times like this where I really don't like that a character has to die at the end. If this had actually happened, they likely would have just sparred and eaten noodles later and it would have been nice.
My favorite part in the whole battle: Po's Voice- Spot on. Iron Fist: What are you doing? Po: hoho oh, you know this hold? Iron Fist: Um, no? Po: Oh, well uh, you're about to learn it. Iron Fist taking his fingers away and Po struggling to do it on him was hilarious
He basically weaponizes the fact that he is a cartoon in his fight with Tai Lung- fighting with found objects, being bouncy enough to be immune or even reflect back attacks- and he is a genius with chi, considering as they said, he used the wuxi finger hold before he even learned about chi. He has all the strengths of a typical shonen protagonist and a looney toons character wrapped up in a cheerful and kind kung fu fanboy. Its why one of my favorite fics right now is Oogway's little Owl- a crossover that takes place before Kung Fu panda 1, but we get to see hints of po's abilities and enjoy his endearing side, which will have interesting ripples when it finally catches up to canon, among other things that happened.
Right? His modified Dragon style is unique and very interesting, allowing him to play defensive with powerful offensive strikes at their best when he has depleted his enemy's own energy.

I feel like there was a bit of a missed opportunity with the Spirit Realm segment. Kinda wish that there was characters that lost Death Battles before (Sweet Tooth, Wario, Deathstroke, etc.) floating around in the afterlife and watching the battle in the background. But that’s me nitpicking.
Po and Iron Fist were both masters of their respective martial arts, but Po had one key advantage: chi. I question how sober they were to even advertise this.
My god, I had no idea that po had such an impressive technique. The way he creates openings for himself is unprecedented.
