Realized I'm very late in knowing this singer but there are too many talents that seems to never make it to the main stream. They need better managers and more contemporary songs unfortunately. (and there are definitely glass ceilings for all kinds of things...) and lol @ me try to hide my shock and act nonchalant even though my tiny facial expressions betrays me constantly :D Well at least you know I went in with a genuine skeptical mind (not that he won't be good, but what are the chances he is tip top). So ye, as I was saying, I genuinely went in with a skeptical-who-cares-what-the-fans-think mind. And he punched me in the face, spiritually, with his performance, it was hard, still hurts, not complaining. But ouch :) Subscribe! more reaction and art videos coming!
This was his first performance on the TV show "Singer" back in 2017, where he was invited as a wildcard and which catapulted him to stardom in China. He's also won the equivalent of a Grammy in Russia a few times, but I think he's just starting to put some feelers in the US. He had a concert in NYC last year and recently signed with a US talent agency. Hopefully he gets the opportunity to sing a big movie soundtrack- his voice is made for it!

Dimash has a very high set of moral values. He decides what to sing and how to sing them. Although he has a great trusting relationship with the people he works with, he won't let any label shape him into something he doesn't want. Many of his fans would love to see him go more mainstream (and he is more than capable to sing the mainstream type of songs, has a lot of them already), and he had stated many times that he wanted to introduce his music to the US, even about dreaming to win the Grammys (he's quite the visionary :D ). But he sure isn't doing it through the easy route, isn't he? He did sell out Barclays Centre NY last year though (btw, all his concerts get sold out, all over the world, had to postpone some of them coz of Covid). He premiered one of his songs to the MTV platform recently but interestingly enough, from all the songs he could have chosen (including his more pop English song) he decides to give MTV his passion-project, a Kazakh song about peace and homeland. Definitely not a pop song, though no less beautiful. So in some sense, he has gotten to the US... We'll just have to wait and see what he decides to do next. He has signed up to an agency in the US a couple of months ago, I believe.
Either way, whatever he decides to do, he keeps making great music :D. I personally don't feel bad that he's not in the mainstream media yet, he doesn't need to at this point. But if he wants to then it's great that he wants to share his gift to the world coz the world would definitely be missing out if they haven't heard his voice.

This is a absolutely live and 100% real. Dimash is known for his exceptionally wide range and voice control.
He has been trained since the age of 5 and gifted with natural talent and vocal chords. You are watching in English of a 23 year old Kazakh man at the time of this performance sing in French at a Chinese competition.
He sings in 12 languages and plays 6 or more instruments. His fans he calls DEARS of which I am one.
Please react to more Dimash and you will realize it is not hype. This man is the real deal and in many opinion the best vocalist of our time.

Dimash gets into you through musical. Vocal perfection. it's like God singing to us in any voice he chooses. I've cried I don't know how many times,, you could tell Dimash got to the reviewer, into his being and touched his soul, and he had been crying.

As with all art, taste differs and we need to keep that in mind. Not everyone loves Picasso and the same way not everyone loves Dimash.
@@JustMyOpinion1010 the only addendum or change I’d suggest to you is that, as much as I agree that not everyone loves Picasso (and even Dimash), whether Picasso is your preference, the recognition of his art as being among the most identifiable in the world is undeniable. That being said, I believe that talent usurps personal preference. In other words, you’re welcome to appreciate and like whomever you like, but don’t diminish those you don’t. There are enough people in the world to appreciate without negativity to others.

Dimash has changed the formula of how to make it and not fade. He can't fade. His music is for eternity.
Once you know him you will know what I mean.
That is just the top of the iceberg - and that's no joke. This was nearly 4 years ago and... his voice developed even more since then. He has an more than 6 octave range and perfect pitch, classical training since age 5, he is an multi-instrumentalist and composer - yes this was live 😉. You haven't heard anything yet. Every new song brings something new and unexpected.
But also old and expected, like he always starts soft and gets louder through the song.
In Samaltau (Tokyo Jazz Festival), he really paints a picture while he is singing.

Dimash also sang another version at the closing ceremony of the International Silk Road Film Festival in 2019. That version is just as good if not better!

6 octave range. Can hit a D8. It was live. Considered the best in the world. He was the dark horse on the show because he wasn’t Chinese, invited . After this performance he became known world wide. His performances on the show were awesome. He now has concerts, music videos , sound tracks to movies, and a tremendous fan base he calls dears. Humble and kind, dimash is incredible.

You said you know nothing about music, yet you listened more attentively than many and noticed right away things that some (including me) notice only after many repeats. I think you'll find great inspiration in Dimash, because he doesn't just do covers, he paints his own versions of the song with all hundreds of colours of his voice. And he is such a master of various technics, and very creative. His songs are very visual.
As a visual artist, you may also be interested in his music videos, first and foremost his directorial debut, Qairan Elim. But also the others are compelling, such as Love Of Tired Swans, Akkuym (My Swan), Know, and many more. The stage design of his concerts and other appearances is often very elaborate as well. React more to him and get convinced that that is indeed his real voice.
Yes they made all the singers on the show “I Am A Singer” sing live - no lip syncing and w a live orchestra.
I am also an artist..... I was the same exact way. It was like seeing micheal Angelo paint the Sistine chapel for me. And I am not joking. I bawled like a baby.... I was also a trained classical singer as a young adult. However I also have a form of synesthesia that allows me to see colors with music.... and it was like explosive!!

This was in 2017- the beginning of his international career. He has come such a long way since then. He is even better now. He is without a doubt the best male vocalist of our time.
Dimash is not singer. He is vocal artist... Your ears enjoy every single note, but he paints pictures in your soul. You don't have to understand one world he's singing, it doesn't matter If you understand one or all of the languages he sings in - you understand the songs by heart.
Dimash is handsome, a beautiful human being, altruistic, caring, humble, grounded... And giftet with the most incredible voice we will hear in this century.

Dimash lives each song. I always choose to see his live performances because they are perfect. Electric. His flawless technique and impossible range are a given, but there is something else that sets him apart. He doesn't perform to an audience, he shares the beauty of music alongside them. I'm not sure how else to explain it, but there's something in his spirit, his humility that shines, making him exceptional in a world of mediocrity.

Oh yes, he is for real. He has a 6 octave range, started voice training at age 5. Mother is a professional opera singer and father is also a professional singer. This video was of him singing in a months long contest in China. He was an unknown, wild card in this Chinese competition of already professional singers. The next day he had to have body guards, because he was an over night sensation in China. He thought he was in trouble when he opened his hotel room door and body guards were waiting for him. His first album went platinum in 37 seconds and triple platinum in 1 hour.
Now you know why people and your friend have been requesting Dimash. One can’t deny his gorgeous voice and yes it’s real and live!! I was so fortunate to witness him sing this song and many others in NYC last December 2019. Please believe me, his voice is the same as heard here, if not better live. Dimash is a precious jewel, not only with his vocal capabilities but in so many other ways as well. That’s not an exaggeration either. Thank you so much for your reaction. It was great!!

For those Dimash fans who aren't aware Dimash has expressed a desire to become known in America and other western countries and he submitted a song to MTV youtube channel's Friday livestream a few weeks ago that has been voted by viewers to #2 three weeks in a row.(It's a piece of art, by the way, on another level from what MTV normally promotes). Fans can help him get to #1 by tuning into that livestream when it plays in our own time zones (5-8pm New York time, Fridays only) and type REQUEST DIMASH in the chat next to the video as many times as possible. Twitter and Instagram users can vote for Dimash during the week by following the format described in a short youtube video "Wanna See Dimash on MTV livestream." Facebook has a "Dimash MTV Voting Ultimate Guide." Let's get Dimash to #1 and keep him there! I’ve never heard anything as beautiful as Dimash’s voice. An Angel
Wow, you were really shocked! Understandably so. Dimash has been training in music since 5 years old. Been dreaming to be a singer since the first time he can remember. His earlier drawings from his childhood were all about music: guitars, pianos, even the sound system he seas on stage (both of his parents are singers). He studied classical & contemporary music up to uni-level. Has a masters degree in composition and is currently doing his PhD (he's currently 26, btw). He's a humble, hardworking guy whose dedicated his life in music, so much so that what he can achieve are truly mindblowing... It's too perfect to be true, right? He sings in 12 language, fluently speaks in Kazakh & Russian (currently studying Chinese & English), can sing from the low vocal fry register up to the whistle register and even hit notes off the piano in live performances. He doesn't like people talking about his range though, because there are more to music than that, right? He can sing in multiple genres (already showcased a bit here in SOS): pop, rock, rap, RnB, jazz, theatrical, opera, folk (with Kazakh / Chinese / Middle Eastern influence) and I'm sure he's learning new stuff still. Oh, and he can even dance, LOL a true performer overall.

He sings this song live many times (not only in this prestigious Chinese professional singing competition) but also in his concerts. Or even go as far as searching him sing acapella or without a mic on YT, his fans love to upload those. You should be prepared because SOS is not his most shocking performance. So you know, the part at the beginning where he was really low and went to his staccato was actually 2 Octaves and 4 notes - just in one sentence. Let that sink in for a moment ............. some singers can't even do that in their career much less in 1 sentence. Now knowing Dimash still has 4+ octaves more to offer us as listeners is amazing. P.S. Really like your art too!

Dimash is the best vocalist in the world !!! Read his biography on the web because it is too long to tell. He sings in 12 languages and speaks Kazakh, Russian, English, and Mandarin Chinese. He is a lyrical singer, graduated in contemporary music. he has a master's degree in composition and is currently pursuing a doctorate in musicology. He plays various musical instruments (piano, dombra, drums, etc). He has won many awards and accolades. He just turned 26 years old.

You have just witnessed the best technically trained singer in the world today. Dimash is absolutely incredible. You, as an artist must appreciate the smallest detail when it comes down to analyzing someone else’s art. Dimash puts his entire mind, body and soul into each and every song he sings. This performance was almost 4 years ago, and since then, Dimash’s voice has matured, and he is even better today. Please continue to listen to more performances by this amazing young man. Thanks for your response. Many of us struggled with similar confusion, doubt and ... for me... just incomprehension. He has the vocal control of a man more than twice his age....and the fearless passion of youth. It's hard to imagine this level of perfect pitch, the 6+ octave range, the gorgeous tone, the technical skills to use pop, jazz, blues, rap... and of course classical... just as different colors on his palette. Sometimes multiple techniques in the same riff - even in the same note. It's not "normal." To me, it must be what it was like to be alive when Mozart was at court.... or when any of the great, epic-changing visual artists were in mid-career. And yet.... in this track ... Dimash was only 22. He's 26 now, and just keeps getting more impressive. With the great artists there is a before and after,; once they burst on the scene everything shifts. That is happening now with Dimash. Young singers are inspired and learning how to break rules and do things that were always thought impossible for the human voice. The next dozen years will be interesting.
For a striking visual impression, you might want to see/listen to his livestream entry in the Tokyo Jazz Festival this year... Samultau. It's filmed in his home studio. (And it's another gorgeous performance).
I hope you do some more Dimash reactions - each one is quite different and shows new aspects of the phenomenon that is Dimash. Suggestions: Sinful Passion, Adagio, Ulysses (esp. if you like opera: he sings this with Aida Garafullina), Unforgettable Day, Love is like a Dream.... it's a very long list. If he has bad songs, they don't see daylight. Regardless whether you do them as reactions or not, check him out. I think you'll like what you hear.

The first time I heard Dimash with this same S.O.S song I was amazed at his vocal arrangement, how he passes the feelings through his voice of his feelings. I have heard countless singers in my life, I am 57 years old, but for me Dimash is the best in the world. I loved your reaction and your paintings.
It was definitely live and yes, he is a wonder, a phenomenon, a genius of music, a Picasso of the voice, the future of singing, whatever you wanna call it. But more than that, he's a wonderful human being that teaches us a lot about the depts of the human soul, about human values, and also heals our depressions and anxieties, and thats a real wonder... He's a revolution in music, something that our contemporary civilisation never saw before, because he's coming from a part of the world that's completely different of the western civilisation, values and mentalities, he was born in a very peculiar way, so he doesnt fit in any definition of a "star" that we know.

Yes it was all live, all singers have to sing live here and Dimash has always been known as a live artist from a very young age.
This show, Singer is nothing like AGT, Voice or any similar show in the West, this was a Chinese show for highly respected, and famous professional singers to compete, Dimash from Kazakhstan was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan in Central Asia, so half in Europe and half in Asia, he is 6ft 3 inches (191 cm) tall and was the youngest ever competitor here in 2017 at only 22 years old and the people you see backstage are his competitors. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China with around 600 thousand hits on Weibo. His first album in 2019 went platinum in 37 seconds and triple platinum in under an hour, sales are now way past this. He is now a world class artist, still just turned 26 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, including the Barclays Centre in New York last December (tour is on hold until next year due to covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, has completed a Broadway Musical Masterclass and has now graduated his Masters Degree with Honours in music composition with a top mark of 100%, he is now doing his PhD. He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respecfully turned it down to persue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano in full head voice, , plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. He is kind, humble, generous and modest, a very elegant, well bought up young man. His Dears are his very loyal fans and we number over 114 fan clubs in 120 countries globally and number in the millions, he calls us Dears because we are so dear to him, just like his family. Some info about Dimash. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music scholld sens 5 years old and told the teachur that the piano was out of tune! He Sings aboute 6-7 oktaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano kan go! He also writs and compose own songs, playes bunch of instruments including Dombra there own kazakh instrument that has a sound you cant belive! He also sings in aboute 12 languages and speaks 4 so far. He is born in 1994.
Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jass from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and approved to start his PhD.
He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chines singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500.
Dimash Kudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasent really prepared for that. He had come to China att 22 years young man by him self and didn’t knew the language. They hade contracted him for 2 showes becouse they dident think he cold go father than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that fast do to his famous over night. Dimash got many new friends from this show and he saide at some point he learned a lott from it to.

Gloria Wu's channel has the back-story about the song that is so sad and from a life story about a boy losing his parents in an awful way. If I remember correct he wrote the music to this one when he was 17 or 19 years old and lyrics by Oral Baisengir, who was a poet/lyricist father of a friend of Dimash. Also in this show another contestent "Terry Lin" that was aboute 51 years young here he considered Dimash a dear friend at this point. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 12 I think!! That is a big respekt and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladley acepting it. They are still that close and also invites eatchouther to there concerts and sometimes singing this song in duet to. They sang it in Jackie Chang movie festival in 2019 and Jackie was choked in how good they were. Terry was known as a alien before Dimash and they have simulare vocals to.
