It's a great signing and with Max we are able to compete for and in the Europa League. Without Max we are still sucessfull, but not as offensively prolific. Without the last two Games we were 5th and sometimes 4th. These last two games were our first consequtive losses and were pretty close, I guess ihr team is tired such as a lot of teams...

As a former BVB fan i can confirm, being with union just feels different. There aren't a lot of Stadiums that feel like the Alte Försterei, if you ever want to experience german football, go there!

There is one issue, the club haven't a budget for the UEL and stadium classification for european tournaments. And when they get more attantion plus a very good ranking until the end of the season. Then will come the bigger clubs to buy a lot of players, like LENZ is moving to Frankfurt, Unions Budget isnt so big enough to replace the players and the team gonna broke and the fall gonna come. They have to pass some seasons in the Bundesliga to generate some more budget, this is the the first important goal for the club.

I know you have defended Ligue 1 in the past , but only 1 UCL for French clubs is really underwhelming for a country like France . Especially when you consider that Dutch clubs have won 6 UCL ' s and Portuguese clubs have won 4 UCLs

As someone who lives in Berlin and goes to Kopenick every now and then, this Union team is quite something. They have been defying all odds for nearly 3 years now.

Bundesliga prior to 2019.
I went to a game against Hamburg in 2018 and a game against Bremen in 2020. Both games were as guests. And the atmosphere the guest fans created was astonishing and magnificent. Union fans give always 110%.

You should do a video on David Martindale. If you don’t know he was in prison for 3 and a half years and after getting released he volunteered to help out Livingstons training. He rised from a volunteer to a manager who is unbeaten in 11 and has guided Livingston to a league cup final for the first time in 17 years. I’m not a Livingston fan but it really is a heart warming story. Thought it’s an interesting idea for a video.👍
1) The fatigue for playing for both 2) More filler than competition meaning the player will most of the time would be playing friendlies or qualifers than playing in tournaments that can lead to glory. Those two of the top of my head but you can find other reasons.
I love your videos and finally you made one about my favourite club. But you have to consider that in Germany the proffessions of manager and coach are devided onto two individuals. Oliver Ruhnert, our manager is as important as Urs Fischer, he made multiple great and cheap signings of players from lower level leagues, which are performing great.
And in 2022/23 with 19 games out of 34 played Union is 2nd with 39 point. As a Cologne fan I honestly have sympathy for Union. I really would love FC Union winning their first big Bundesliga title this season. Or qualify for the champions League

They just won the Copa Sudamericana, their very first major trophy, afther having reached the argentinian firts division for the first time ever in 2014. In those six years, they have consistently been one of the most offensive, free flowing and fun to watch teams of the league, reaching second place a few years ago. Every Christmas if I'm correct they also do a benefit in their stadium, organized by the ultras and other fans.
The signing of Max Kruse was so so important for the on-field battles.
He’s only started in half the games...
It's a great signing and with Max we are able to compete for and in the Europa League. Without Max we are still sucessfull, but not as offensively prolific. Without the last two Games we were 5th and sometimes 4th. These last two games were our first consequtive losses and were pretty close, I guess ihr team is tired such as a lot of teams...

@@EisernRob Sry but Ujah was never more than third striker since we signed him, maybe you mean Taiwo Awoniyi? Anyways Pohjanpalo is a great impact sub, but nothing else... If he starts he is a black hole on offense and disturbs the flow. I'd Awoniyi, Andrich, Becker, Friedrich, Knoche and Trimmel are our most important players without Max. U.N.V.E.U.

As a former BVB fan i can confirm, being with union just feels different. There aren't a lot of Stadiums that feel like the Alte Försterei, if you ever want to experience german football, go there!
Went to a Union game a couple years ago, and for a 2 Bundesliga side I was so impressed fell in love with them instantly, so happy to see them do well!

There is one issue, the club haven't a budget for the UEL and stadium classification for european tournaments. And when they get more attantion plus a very good ranking until the end of the season. Then will come the bigger clubs to buy a lot of players, like LENZ is moving to Frankfurt, Unions Budget isnt so big enough to replace the players and the team gonna broke and the fall gonna come. They have to pass some seasons in the Bundesliga to generate some more budget, this is the the first important goal for the club.

I know you have defended Ligue 1 in the past , but only 1 UCL for French clubs is really underwhelming for a country like France . As someone who lives in Berlin and goes to Kopenick every now and then, this Union team is quite something. They have been defying all odds for nearly 3 years now.
@Elijah Edric Guinto Not sure if they have the potential to qualify for the Champions League but if they can keep their roster then they have the potential to be regular Europa League or Europa Conference League participants which is already a huge achievement for a club that never played in 1. Bundesliga prior to 2019.
I went to a game against Hamburg in 2018 and a game against Bremen in 2020. Both games were as guests. And the atmosphere the guest fans created was astonishing and magnificent. Union fans give always 110%.

I'm originally from Berlin and used to go to the Stadium when they were still in the Second division. They have extraordinary Fans, which are so proud and humble. Its great to see an English Channel talk about this Great Club.

This club is now one of my favorite teams. They were selling blood and mixing cement and all on the back of decades of history stemming from the Cold War. That's blood, sweat and tears for you... props to this club.

You should do a video on David Martindale. If you don’t know he was in prison for 3 and a half years and after getting released he volunteered to help out Livingstons training. He rised from a volunteer to a manager who is unbeaten in 11 and has guided Livingston to a league cup final for the first time in 17 years. I’m not a Livingston fan but it really is a heart warming story. Thought it’s an interesting idea for a video.👍

Day 1 of asking for 'why do players retire from international football so early
Coz there often are better options for a whole country but not for a club
1) The fatigue for playing for both
2) More filler than competition meaning the player will most of the time would be playing friendlies or qualifers than playing in tournaments that can lead to glory.
Those two of the top of my head but you can find other reasons.

Oliver Ruhnert, our manager is as important as Urs Fischer, he made multiple great and cheap signings of players from lower level leagues, which are performing great.

Hey Alfie, would you consider doing one of these deep dives videos for Defensa y Justicia from Argentina? They just won the Copa Sudamericana, their very first major trophy, afther having reached the argentinian firts division for the first time ever in 2014. In those six years, they have consistently been one of the most offensive, free flowing and fun to watch teams of the league, reaching second place a few years ago. All of that despise having changed managers multiple times and having a high player turnover, as most of their squad is usually composed of loanies at any given time.
Really, they are a joy to watch, and the sudamericana title feels like a just reward to them. It would make a fine video I think.

Could you make a video on the Basque Country national team which left Spain during the Spanish Civil War to raise funds for the region going on tour around Europe and North America. The team also took part in the first ever Mexican Football League in 1938/39 coming 2nd and included some of the best players in Spain at the time including Isidro Langara, Luis Regueiro, Jose Iraragorri, Guillermo Gorostiza, Leonardo Cilaurren etc.
