two professional psychotherapy sessions for a revert sister who has been psychologically affected by an abusive marriage.

Wallahi, i have just been thinking today, like an idea out of the blue that there is nothing out there i have ever heard from which only helps revert sisters or reverts and that it would be an amazing idea to start something like that exclusively for us reverts. A suggestion, why not have a bank of host families for revert sisters in need of emergency accommodation? instead of a hotel room. This way they will not be alone.

100% correct, I’m celebrating Ramadan for the 10 th year Iv not left Allah but the ummah is not what it is meant to be
And sometimes when you have family (esp for those who deem you to have 'too much' family lol smh) people don't want to do with you either. I can definitely relate to community ostracizing on one issue or the other. Alhamdulilah its good when you enjoy your own company and being with Allah.

And even pious brothers and siblings of the man won’t say anything and watch the haram continue promising this girl marriage etc and to take her in but then drop her knowing she hasn’t got family. @A simple Guy Just simple not judged men ... said and I quote “a community that does not.....” not once mentioned men .... said the community, which unfortunately is true... I also agreed with a comment made by someone ...and I believe a lot of Muslims today are 1st or 2nd generation and also have culture sometimes intertwined with religious beliefs and parents who don’t quite understand, as well as a lot of Muslims having to find themselves in a western world. Where unfortunately a lot of young Muslims are mislead from their deen and men do take advantage by offering these girls without family or a walli empty promises of marriage etc ... and don’t respect the women’s rights as a woman. Again Allah (swt) knows best.

This is something that I've been thinking about lately! I agree that it's good to invite people into the religion of Islam but we honestly need to change the approaches and mechanisms that we use while inviting people, let's not be deceitful while engaging in such a noble act by giving hope to people to just bring them into the religion and leaving them in confusion when they begin to take their first step towards the journey of knowing Allah AWJ in His true sense. let's educate ourselves about the gravity of the changes and sacrifices they make to embark on the journey you introduced them to and let's stop with the false promises that we give to our sisters and brothers who are new to the religion instead let's give them the Social support, community support that they need, be their strength and supportive pillar and let's welcome them with the true spirit of brotherhood that Islam teaches otherwise misunderstanding and uncertainty will occur whereby they will come to the conclusion that the religion of Islam is not actually what it portrays and that it's full of lies when that isn't the reality sub7anAllah. let's use the prophetic way of inviting people to Islam in Shaa Allah. May Allah be with those sisters and brothers who have left their families and uplift them and strengthen them and guide them throughout their journey.

Having a bank of sisters willing to support new revert sisters on a one to one basis would help. Insha'Allah. However, sometimes the circumstances of them becoming Muslims makes them invisible to the community.
Great work sisters and Solace! One suggestion for solace is have to contact names n numbers of honest and reliable sisters in different cities and town, who can offer support & help for revert sisters local to them.
Our little town have a network of sisters who offer social gatherings and regular contact with our revert sisters which is working well.
I don’t mind being a single point of contact.

I joined with the charity a few days ago not knowing it was run by Aaliya and the sisters! I have come across this today and realized Honest Tea ladys is Solace SubanaAllah I have pledged to donate 100 pound and Alumdulila I have gone past the half way mark in less than two days. Being a revert myself and have gone through a lot of struggles I realize the importance of this charity. Thank you for all your work sisters it truly is amazing. MashaAllah
I wish this included born muslim women who have become estranged from their families for one reason or another and thus also isolated as a result
Aliyah here - though our remit is revert sisters in difficulty, we also support non reverts. Solace was set up in response to a need and inshaAllah that will evolve into helping more sisters.

Thank you. I’m really happy I got to see this episode. I am a convert and my husbands family is actually pretty cruel to be honest. I have never been accepted, my husbands family doesn’t even invite us during Ramadan so a time that is suppose to be about family and forgiving we are isolated. My husband is strong but I know he is down because of this. How do we navigate when a family disowns you just because you didn’t marry a Arab Palestinian but a Latina convert? We try to remain positive but it’s really hurts

In arabic: حَسْبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ ٱلْوَكِيلُ
In romanization: Hasbun Allahu Wa Ni'mal Wakeel
English translation: Allah is sufficient for us
I hope this duaa will help as it's a wonderful duaa and has helped many including my mother when she was in a very difficult situation. Just to remember that Allah is always there for us as the best Disposer of our affairs and that He is enough for us in every way means so much.

Dear Honest Tea Talk team, I am an African sister residing in the US. Dear sisters , it can be challenging for the reverts and no reverts as well.
I am a domestic violence support.
Guess what some sisters are being muslims because of their husband.
Sometimes those men just want their immigration papers once they get that green card they leave.
Some Women are removing their hijab after the divorce and going back to their normal life.
The organisations are working hard to support but how long can they go.

Assalamu alaykum. I don't understand how sisters, revert or not, are alone and spending Ramadan alone. How? Aren't there Muslims living around these sisters? Why aren't they getting to know eachother? Mind you I don't have any close friends but I feel like there are ways to talk to people online at least. There are numerous facebook-groups for gathering and supporting sisters (I'm in Sweden and there are a few groups here but I've seen UK-based groups as well). Why does it seem like men don't have these issues as often as women?

You may not understand but due to the coronavirus pandemic many events that could have connected sisters together have been cancelled unfortunately.. it’s not that easy to get in contact with other sisters if you don’t know where to go, this is my first Ramadan alone as a revert and honestly I feel lonely; I recently tried to find a place to pray at a London mosque but I was afraid to even ask the brothers at the entrance. So I just continued on my way home and broke my fast alone, again!
Alhamdullilah Im happy to have reverted to Islam but it’s just the lonely feeling that brings me down in such a blessed month like this & thinking of what I would even do for eid lol, I just want to add that: it’s not easy to find places where you can confide with other Muslim sisters in London to be honest unless you know them in real life
Brothers meet each other and form friendships at the masjids, unfortunately most sisters are home with kids so don’t attend masjids or masjids don’t accommodate women so it’s difficult to meet sisters. Am a born Muslims and only a few months ago I was able to find Muslims sister friends, other parents at my daughters school after years of having no Muslim friends.
