percussionist here! at 8:44 you show the sticks. jazz drummers (as well as marching band and sometimes concert snare) use traditional grip. traditional grip is where the left hand has the palm and fingers facing up (just like you have in the figure) and the right hand has the palm and fingers facing down (like holding a handlebar on a bike). to give the drummer a better looking traditional grip, switch the right hand to a 1x1 horizontal clip. it looks weird right now since both hands hold the stick the same way, but by changing the clip it’ll look a lot better. i cant wait to get my hands on this set!
For the bassist, I am thinking you could probably pull the head of the instrument back a notch to make the strings tighter. Usually on string instruments, the head is bent backwards at an angle to put more tension on the strings. Since it is attached to one of those notch connectors (Idk what they are called lol), you could probably put it back one or two notches and the strings will be tighter.
This set is so good for it price. I also love the final build. The bass looks really awesome. Love the details

Great set! As a working jazz musician, I think they did a great job with this set! I like the modularity of the stage too!. 👍😎
As a drummer i don't like the way the figure hold the sticks too. His left hand is yet ok, it's called a traditional grip, when you hold a stick sideways (a lot of jazz drummers use it), but the right stick should be holded straight, so he can play the ride and toms comfortable, with proper wrist technique. Besides of that i love the set and the instruments design 🥰
This set is built so good, and it’s amazing how every figure comes with their own part of the stage!!!!!

Yeah I wasn't sold on this set when it first was talked about and the first official images were released. But the build like you said looks like so much fun! I totally buy things for thier build as well as for what they are. It looks lime I am going to add this to the ever growing list.. but with VIP double points.. 🤔

This set isn't one that I'll be getting but I still enjoyed watching your review. The design and part usage is amazing so full respect to the Lego designers who seem to be raising the bar on a lot of sets lately.

I’m interested to see how well this set does. and the brick built characters are done so well, but it does seem to be a niche set like you said . This won’t be a set that I pick up but I hope it does well. Lego could do all kinds of cool things with the brick built characters. Famous sports scenes, movie scenes, different music scenes . The options are endless .

I actually think the “ears” as you called them on the trumpeter are actually his cheeks coming out while he’s blowing. Cool detail!
I’ve always loved jazz and yes I do appreciate and like that build I’m glad they came out with that hopefully they’ll continue down the line with different types of music in those display scene amazing work thanks man love the channel very useful information as well as great content hope you and the wife have a great summer soon to be parents of twins congratulations you got this man one of them better look like you don’t let mom still the show 😂

I would recommend the film Whiplash it’s a great film but also tells you a lot about Jazz as the main character is a jazz drummer who does hold his sticks that way (it’s a bit intense but I really love it)

i love music the piano is my favorite. This is the reason i bought it. If you can get your hands on one i would get it. I like it if your going to glue it together dont get glue bleed out as even the gel super glue can cause issues. Do not use carb or choke or any solvents on lego as it will melt and destroy it. This is the second one i bought because i used solvents to try cleaning the glue bleed out. 200. Later.
I love the idea especially because I am a huge jazz lover! Although, I feel they could have done more with this set. For example, they could have added a backdrop for the stage to evoke a feeling of being in a jazz club.
That would be way less versatile and I don’t think would display as cleanly as this version
If I did a LEGO Build, it would only be done LIVE in front of the public at a Mall.
i’m pretty sure it’s a trumpist but maybe not. It’s a very well thought design and i love the idea that you can take out parts of the stage for each player!
Amazing set, would love you to build a big bridge going to the modular buildings in the city for cars! Bye

3:40 As a trumpet player, obviously he’s the best figure lol. However there’s no way he’d be able to hold a real trumpet let alone play it like that

Put a flat black circle on the front of that kick drum! It needs a sound hole for the mic! Also, they need to do this with all the popular genres.

If only the trumpet was replaced with a handsome saxophone. I feel the saxophone is the most jazz musical instrument

I do wish, however, that a layer of tiles was put on lid of piano, textured look is just weird. Especially since most of us are familiar with a shiny, smooth, glossy piano lid.
