I loved that you included your brief reaction to the end of Rebels. I felt the same. I'm just glad the Ahsoka series is finally giving us the story they set up at the end of Rebels.
My brother finally got his dream set, the Ewok Village, a few months ago. We built it together and yes a lot of the pieces snapped and broke, but it still looks amazing. All of our LEGO Ewoks from when we were kids (we had all of them) are now resting in their amazing village on his desk. He wanted it more than anything else ever since it came out in 2013 I believe. It took 10 years.
For me, Lego Wall-E is the best Lego Ideas set ever. I think it's a great price, it looks accurate, it works for both kids and adults, there were very few changes from the original submission, the original creator being someone at Pixar who made the original model while they worked on the film. Plus for me it has a special place in my heart because I followed its development even before Cuusoo was a thing and I got to vote for it
Nope! Pirates of Barracuda Bay is the best Lego Ideas set by FAR! It pays tribute to the best Lego theme of all time and continues a 30 year old classic Lego story which no other Lego set has ever done!
The Durmstrang ship is definitely the outlier in this list--so few people talk about it, I never see it in anyone's collection, it's never been remade, and yet it holds up so very well.
The Chamber of Secrets yes! I was lucky enough to get this set when it was released and it's connected with so many great memories for me. It was my favourite set to play with as a kid. Unfortunately it has been parted out, but I still have the pieces so I could probably reassemble it. Only negative I have with the set now is that it still uses the old gray colors, which I don't really like.
Great list, Holly. You made your list for you, and that's how it should be. I have a few on this list including Ewok Village. Awesome set. Has made me think what would be on my list.
I think she could part together the Ewok Village! I'm not sure of the availability of all necessary pieces but a good seller on Bricklink shouldn't have those old brittle parts in stock, Bricktsar talked about those many times. I would most definitely look forward to a LEGO Wookie outpost set the size of the Ewok Village for 2025 and the anniversary of Revenge of the Sith.
@@chriscummings4206 yeah I built my Ewok Village from new and it’s been built and displayed ever since but never noticed any pieces being brittle, same situation for the UCS Sandcrawler
I bought the original Chamber of Secrets this year from an Ebay seller that basically had it like 80 percent with a bunch of extra pieces for some super cheap price. I had to do a lot of cleaning and wiping off dirt, and had to part out a few missing pieces but it looks absolutely amazing when complete. That set is ahead of its time, and really looks amazing on a shelf.
My number one retired set is one that many people might have mixed feelings on: The Gingerbread House. I tried to get it in 2020, but it was out of stock. But last Christmas, I managed to get my hands on one. I love it!
Holly is amazing love the hair 🙂 it's sad most LEGOs are gonna retire not return to bad but I understand those it's good to learn from you u help out a lot thank you Holly ❤️

Always good seeing you speaking so passionately about Lego! Have you seen the Disney mini castle and Haunted Mansion? The kind of things that are exciting about lego cheap detailed and not space consuming
If this video is only focusing on sets that have been bought after retirement, all I've grabbed post-retirement were at least three Bionicle characters & a Robo Rider. One of my local toystores also has a cabinet full of minifigures & through that, I've managed to grab a couple of retro spacemen, a 2011 city crook, two 2019 Ninjago varients, Vitruvius (the DVD variant) & 2010 Woody.
Man do I feel like I was a spoiled kid 😅 I own the Black Pearl, Jabba’s Palace, Helm’s Deep, the Mystery Machine, Republic Gunship, Bag End and the Pizza Planet Truck. And I did own (and have sold) the 2010 Burrow, Woody’s Roundup and the 2011 Diagon Alley (which I bought from Downtown Disney in Florida back before the Lego store was built and the Lego store there at the time was a big yellow tent lol). All these set picks were great!
I was going through my collection, and my fave retired sets include MetalBeard's Sea Cow, every Scooby-Doo set, the Monster Fighter's Haunted House, the Ghostbusters' Firehouse, and the Kwik-E-Mart (my favorite set of all time!).
The original marvel helicarrier from avengers is my top 1. I missed the opportunity back then to purchase it and have been on the hunt ever since it was retired. Luckily I purchased the Cinderella’s castle about a month or two before it was retired
For LOTR, I go with Attack on Weathertop 9472. You get a great selection of figs and accessories (Two Dark Riders!) and a compact, efficient build that doesn't tax my limited shelf space.
Brick Bank, Downtown diner and corner garage are the modulars that keep calling to me on bricklink. One day I may give in. Also have a strange desire for a UCS Snowspeeder. If they don't do a new one in the next couple of years may have to go for the second edition.
I miss the green Jeep lego set from toy story, and the 2008/2009 darth vaders tie advanced, was one of my favorites. I also miss the original temple of the golden idol set, the lotr and hobbit sets were great to. Keep up the good work Holly, love the vids
the 2007 MTT was my "White Whale" for a long time, but I was never going to fork over 1000€ or more for a MISB one. So last year, I got some stuff from Bricks and Pieces and built it myself! (with some slight changes for stability and accuracy). It has a few nougat (light brown) pieces instead of regular brown but I think that's ok.
This vid makes me feel so old! Apart from Diagon Alley, every set on my list is waaay older than these. Some great investing potential among these though.
I love the Wall-E-set. In my opinion the best Lego set. Wonderfull character, perfectly executed for a reasonable price using printed elements and with the option for easy motorisation... i wish Lego made more sets like this.
Imagine the brick bank but mocced in with the white and sand green parts of the new friends set coming out with the glass dome. I'm buying 2 of them and making something cool
My all time favorite set is 10283 Space Shuttle Discovery. It looks more like a model airplane than a Lego set. Those cargo bay door stickers are a pain though, they should have been applied at the factory to ensure quality.
I am so thankful to my granny that she bought me Black Pearl back in 2011 - the price was reasonable and due to the fact, that I somehow never saw pictures of Black Pearl on the internet, I thought that this is some hard-to-find exclusive that just miraculously popped up in our toy store and I will never find this set again.
Omg Lego is already your job? Like fulltime? I've been following you since your channel was quite smaller and the commitment and quality of the content is quite impressive. Keep going Holly, you make my days a little better when I see that notification of a new video :)
That Cars set is adorable! I’m currently working towards the UCS AT-AT (not retired yet, phew!) but after that, Brick Bank is next on my list! I would love a BrickHeadz Boba Fett. Would be great if they’d reissue that one! Hello LEGO, are you listening?
If i were listing my own favorites, I think I'd have to separate licensed sets from original designs. On the licensed front, Woody's Roundup and the Pizza Planet truck are indeed right up there. But then there's the Creator Expert Fairground Mixer 10244, and I don't think a more perfect (and still underrated) minifig-scale set exists.
Great video with some great sets and some great nostalgia! I have some of these but certainly not all of them, and there's some I would love to get! I have to say though I don't understand the controversy around Jabba's Palace. So the roof is round like some cult's shrine somewhere? The roof of the White House in the United States is also round, can Lego not make that building either, because it also has a roundish roof? Also, did they have the same complaints when Jabba's Palace was first revealed in 1983? If they did, probably nobody cared. So why are we listening to these people now? I don't know, I'm not a big fan of bending over backward to appease people who are freaking out over a Lego set based off of a 1983 movie, that happened to barely resemble a shrine or cult temple somewhere. What's the big deal? Why are they freaking out about it and why do we care that they are overreacting about it? I mean, I get a lot of them do you like to blow up buildings, so from that point of view, I understand not wanting to go out of your way to provoke them, but from a political point of view that's the job of the military to take them out. So from Lego's point of view, are they going to bomb some Lego stores because of Jabba's Palace? That seems unlikely. Anyway, sorry for the long rant. I just get tired of the idea of not making a set accurate just because you're afraid of offending some cult fanatics on the internet. 😕 Really enjoy your content Holly, keep up the great work! 🤠
