LEGO Jazz Club Modular Building Detailed Review

- Опубліковано 20 гру 2022
- Take a detailed look at the LEGO Jazz Club in this review video! This modular building is the 2023 addition to the collection and it includes a jazz club, pizzeria, and tailor. The building is very detailed and has some really interesting color combinations. Overall I think it is a great addition to the collection but some things could have maybe been done differently.

Lego modulars are the best
That be fact.
Easy way to make the pizzeria make sense is to have the counter go all the way to the wall to block off entry to club. A counter the full width of the arched opening could then become the bar. Add a few bar stools. Add a door next to the oven for the worker. Maybe add a fridge to the front of the pizzeria for cold drinks.
Great Ideas!
I have actually been to a club that had a toilet under the stairs…. Yes it was tiny too lol. Love that lego used the space for something . It’s lego so it doesn’t really have to make sense . Love all the stories in this club. This is an awesome set. Omg I love the sewing machine .Thanks for the share .love from Australia
I think that the Pizzeria having a way to access the Clue is pretty nice. The minifigs in the show can go to the Pizzeria get drinks or (surprise surprise) pizza and the chef can watch a show while making the food. In my opinion, I think that's pretty cool.
You are absolutely right Jordan! The theme of this year’s modular is “Jazz Club” … yet there are NO MINIFIGS for patrons … and the club level is so cramped that there isn’t even room for a BAR!
Maybe Lego was being realistic by not including patrons for the jazz club 🤔
😆
For $300 we got 25 awesome minifigs in the Daily Bugle set. For $230 they can throw in 3 or 4 more figs. Other then that it looks awesome.
The bugle and marvel in general is more for the figs modulars are for the builds but more would be welcome
Sewing machine (reminds me of Singer brand) and rooftop garden are my favourite details of this build. Lovely!
Aww, my mum still has her Singer and uses it to sew :)
The ground floor needs heavy mods in the interior but for the rest it's perfect, love the colors and everything
You’ve got to pace it next to the cinema to create an entertainment district, plus plenty of lights to make it feel like it could be nighttime in that section of the city
*Potentially near the beach area, also could incorporate the bowling alley or restaurants
If you place it next to the Boutique Hotel you think the designers at Lego are color blind :-)
Actually, quite like this one! But is the second floor staircase designed for one of the steps to not be a jumper? Looks strange with just 1 plate there
No Pizza shop sign?
Would have liked a slightly bigger Pizza shop with some kind of seating.
The blue of the Jazz Club sign clashes with the 1st floor blue.
Pretty much agree with everything you’ve said. Good critique of this new modular. I’m not happy with the pizzeria. The size and the colour. Think I’d prefer just a larger Jazz club. A few of the detail elements on the building I’d want to tone down. If I bought this set I’d remove the pizzeria completely. But unfortunately I think I’ll pass on this one. Just not enough speaks to me. Two in a row as I didn’t want the hotel either. More moc builds for me.
Thoughts on the tailor being the twin of the guy from the Bookshop? I agree, the original color of earth blue looks so good and makes the light blue on the bottom make sense.
lol I thought I had seen that minifigure before. Great find!
I quite like this new modular, I like the picture you showed for the version with the darkish blue bricks instead of the red.
I agree! I might have to at least change out the front bricks to be that dark blue so that it blends better. I think that looks so slick!
I got an gig some years ago in an pizzeria/ Club with shared space.
So in my case its pretty accurate 😅
You're spot on with the arch into the pizzeria, toilet and lack of bar. I think the arch could have been closed off, get rid of the toilet and add a decent bar there.
It looks so Cool! Thanks for sharing!
Looks super cool. Im finally building it tonight, been waiting for a night off work to do it ☺️
That modular looks really good! Thanks Bricksie
awesome video jordan the jazz club looks amazing i cant wait to build mine when i get it
awesome building.
not sure why people always feel the need of “reducing the colors” of a beautiful, colorful set but okay tho
Thanks for the great review!
I'm definitely going to buy this modular and I'm definitely going to change the red to blue!
I changed two small details about the pizzeria
On the door, instead of using the gold triangles for the handles , I used the extra gold gun parts that were used for the lights in the jazz club . I like it better
And on the front of the roof , I used a leftover microfig from the Haunted Mansion
Very nice . I am thinking a MOC using parts from either Assembly Square and or The Bookstore to make a perfect add on to this build . Music and Pizza , what's not to like !! Thanks for the review !!
I’m so glad we got some amazing print pieces. I think that’s my favorite part 😂
I plan on using a lot of the jazz club elements in the alternate moc for boutique hotel (el Cabo cafe) so I have a jazz cafe. Then what remains of this set I’ll make something unique like a comic book shop or record store
in my opinion, i like the generic face from cafe corner to assembly square most, because to me it makes everyone happy to be doing anything, which if you own brick bank would make the bankers happy to be robed by a happy robber. But those torso prints are fantastic, and i really like the second and 3rd floor of the jazz club as it kinda gives fire brigade vibes with its colour scheme
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE that building! Especially the greenhouse! It´s SO cool! Can´t wait to build it myself :-)
i am excited about this modular but i do have to say that dark blue mod does look pretty cool.
I am normally to so into modulair building but this one looks very cool!
Really wish they'd have gone all the way to the back of the plate with this one. Other modulars have done it before, it would allow so much more space on the inside.
Absolutely beautiful
Looks nicer from the outside
The inside jazz Club needs a bar !!! Hogsmeade has one.
This would be so cool if the pizzeria had the same detail as the kitchen from the Seinfeld set
As much as I was excited for the reveal, I am a little disappointed about the design. The stained glass doesnt really fit this type of a building, sure the framing of these windows is cool but it makes them look smaller. The colours are maybe a bit too wild for me. There also could be a little more greenery in front. On the other hand I like the small details inside, the stage looks amazing and I absolutely love the sewing machine. The building is not bad at all, but its probably not for me :)
I actually really like the stained glass windows.
I’m closing off that wall and putting the bar there. And likely adding a fridge and storage to the pizzeria. I like modifying Modular, though. That’s become more fun to me than building them as they come.
Really like the Jazz Club. Great review
Looks great 👍
Struggle to find a connection with this one. For the first time in the modular themes history I'm going to pass it up.
The open walkway between the pizzeria and jazz club is because they are a joint business and the pizzeria supplies food to the patrons of the club
Good point on no bar. The pizza joint should have been a bar, or a small bar set up where the toilet is.
That is going to be one noisy managers office with that open area over the stage.
Idk, Lego hasn't done a single bar yet, probably due to their guidelines on avoiding references to alcohol. It's a suspension of disbelief you have to get used to. The Highlander pool house in DC also has no bar. They definitely never did a proper bar with a bunch of bottles in back and stuff like that. The only two establishments that are kinda getting away with it are BH and PR
Love this set 🤩🤩
Nice review. I’ve been a little negative on this one, but your review changed that. It’s on my wtb list now.
Love the modular stuff is it a corner or side?
I will be completely change almost all the colors on this
Great review Jordan .😊👍Sean the set built other day. Moduler s are one of the best parts of Lego and sets that have electronic moveing part s. ..Lego need to do more of I say. For kids. To keep set interesting. .a Lego motor that is faster for a AC Lego car s would be great . I got a extra chef and scooter bike delivery guy ready to add to this set. I'm tottaly sold on this set. ..I be adding it into my city. It's that time I doing the house move. Arfter New year's. Just like U did. And red building another city I be trying to keep same to say I had it plus chandge it a little.
1. Shouldn't be conjoined buildings - make the archway a bar for the club, change the shape of the counter in the pizzeria to allow room for a fridge
2. Get rid of manager's office and make it more seating for the jazz club; make sure this is accessible from the jazz club itself.
3. Tailer's office above a pizzeria would lead to stinky fabric, make it instead more seating for the pizzeria
4. Get rid of the main staircase joining the two buildings, since it makes no sense you'd have to enter a different door to get inside a different part of the jazzclub
The greenroom is great and so is the restroom. The greenhouse is a cute touch I enjoy.
Lots of missed opportunities, but gives a good foundation to creating however you think it should be built. Since the building doesn't use the entire baseplate, and there's a large empty space in the back, there would be lots of room to make improvements. I might have to wait on this modular until it's $30 off on Amazon like the Boutique Hotel, or if/when there's a good GWP.
Great review! How easy would it be to mod the sign, so there is a gap between Jazz and Club? The lack of a gap between the words bothers me too much to leave it alone. 😂
I am glad you told me what SNOT brick was as I thought your Canadian English was a bit weird ha I am no Lego expert so nice to learn something new.
Removing the pizza place and putting in a cigar bar. Getting rid of the yellow as well.
I want this so much
Awsome set
I have watched a few reviews of this set. So far your one is the best. You have pointed out details from the set that nobody else has done. I totally agree it does need a bar. Maybe where the ticket window is a small bar could be built. Also the pizzeria should not have access into the jazz club. It just doesn't make sense.😀👍
They should've left pizza place out completely and dedicate the whole downstairs part to jazz club because that's the name of the set😃. Stage and all is fine but bar (instead of pizza place) would make more sense with added guests, visitors etc.
This is the perfect set to pair with a the daily bugle.
I agree that the pizzeria should have had more details. I think some minifigures in the set like the delivery driver could be in the audience
Would love ro get 2 sets to make a bigger jazzclub and make into 2 separate buildings 😃
check out the designer interview, by another youtuber from Germany… the Jazz Club is a place for the people from the other modulars to visit, thus the empty seats ;)
I like the dark blue rendition. Much better than dark red.
You could remove the pizza place and expand the club for a bar and maybe a pool table
To me personally there are just too many colors going on to the point that I can't really understand the concept. The lavender accents are just one example of things that are a bit random to me
On the blueprint of all the modulars on the instructions I believe either the fire brigade or the town hall is missing 🤔
I think there are enough minifigs populating most peoples' cities to check out a show at the Jazz Club & fill those seats ;) I do agree it's a shame there's no bar, though..
I gotta block off the club from the pizzeria. Maybe a bar there if there’s room. And that blue mod looked pretty good
Looks good! Lego always seems to come up short on minifigures which is unfortunate
Awesome:)
The dark red right on top of the light blue is too much contrast for 1 building. Adding the yellow building next to it, it becomes an eyesore
What Lazy Susan do you use?
I think the jazz club owner’s office should switch places with the band’s dressing room. The build seems to be a combination of very open areas and very small areas. I do like the colors throughout. Great review 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Idk, the office has a balcony built in. Therefore if you put it above a changing room it has some... Weird connotations
Just cover the floor for extra space
Nice Jordan 😃
Its like the palace cinema
Nice
Hi I have the first images of the Lego blacktron cruiser 40580 in my Lego chanel.
3:32 I think you might have forgotten something there, I looked at another review of this and that looks different than the other reviewer's build.
Great set but there could be some modifications added to it.
Walkway between pizzeria and jazz club lounge is so audience can order food with their “liquid refreshments”……I have actually seen this in many businesses which share a larger building with other compatible businesses.
Do you plan on reviewing the new star wars bomber, I was planning on getting it.
I think that video is coming out on Christmas day :)
@@Bricksie thank you for the hard work
Jordan, You have tons of Minifigs, I’m sure you can find an audience! 😆
Haha you're right
Easy Fix
CLOSE OFF pizzaeria opening…
SWAP DOOR to inside pizzeria…
ADD BAR in the space behind stairs!
And fortunately I have about a trillion minifigures… so the club is easy to populate!
I would suppose because that there is no bar would be from lego wanting to be kid friendly and maybe mini figures not drinking and being safe.
Where did you get your bookcases in the Lego room ?
I use Ikea Billy shelves
@@Bricksie how were you able to fit the UCS falcon on it without it sticking out lol
I like it but less studs exposed at the back of the jazz club and give me a bar 😁🍻
I emptied out that down stairs bathroom and forced my mini fig to live there while working night shifts at the pizzeria
Just so I feel good about my own life
Why do I also get major Detective Office vibes?!
Because both sets are inspired by NYC/Chicago
Not many sets I’m interested for January 1st. Modular is really cool, but it’s never been my cup of tea. The only theme I collect is Star Wars. The only 2 sets I’m picking up are the 501st Battle Pack and the Tie Bomber.
Star Wars is crazy expensive as a theme though. I bet your wallet was squealing a fair bit last year
@@reptongeek Yea, but I actually managed to do well. I don’t buy every single set. I mostly only buy Clone Wars sets/Prequel sets, or sets that are from the new tv shows, Ex: (The Mandalorian, The Bad Batch, The Book Of Boba Fett, Kenobi, Andor. Ect) Plus I skipped August 1st. Usually I’m always there on release date, but I was like if I’m patient enough the sets will be available by the end of the year. Now I can just walk into the store and pick up the sets. If you are patient enough, eventually you will be able to walk into your local Lego store and pick up the sets you want.
I would convert the bathroom to a tiny bar
Why didn’t you build it on New Year’s Day ?
Probably suggest that the people in the jazz place can also get pizza as dinner.
Me as a huge fan of bathrooms: danng..can't put a minifig in there..
Im building mine right now however I am missing a piece so im annoyed yet using a temporary substitute for it
Nothing crazy about the miniafigures???? Whaaaat the bass player has a hearing aid
While watching thsi video I got an ad about lights at lego scale the company is called lights for lego
How do I send you fan mail?
I really hate that the pizzaria is connected to the jazz club doesn’t make any sense
Yeah, not sure how much sense this makes. A full width first floor with a bigger stage, another musician (piano) and a bar would make more sense. I like the outside look but the inside is…less than it should be.
Where in the club can you get a drink or is it BYOB?
lol what an epic comment
I know a lot of people are on the fence with this one, but I love it. Admittedly, the price is a little high
Personally, I’ve grown to like the set. But I think that the set would be better if all the different colours were toned down a bit and they just scrapped the tailors and put more effort into the pizzeria
The colours are too garish and looks like a friends set for me. Surprised so many people like them, they make it looks more like a toy and less and 18+ set
Totally agree 100%
Exterior looks decent apart from the colourblocking, interior underwhelming. I will get it, but it is not amongst my favourite modulars.
The pizzarea is 1 dollar pizza from NYC
