Thank You Chelmswood Junction, honestly I watched the same Power Station being pulled down twice! back in the mid 90s, the A Power Station was pulled down which left the B Power Station until 2019 when they started tearing it down and the footage is the B Power Station. But sadly I didn't had a camcorder back then to watch the A Power Station being pulled down.
It’s always good to see progress but I get a bit nostalgic about the people who spent their working lives at huge places like these. I was always impressed by power stations when I was a kid. The sheer size of the plats was amazing
Great shots Simon. Even if the 9th one was the clincher, these shots and video are excellent work. It's exciting to see but sad in a way. Cheers Simon. Keep well chap. Cheers!
It sadly was, I remember that it was due to be taken out of service by 2025 but they closed it early due to another power station needing a component from Rugeley Power Station or Rugeley Power Station needed a component from another Power Station. Not sure how true that was.
I remember going to a open day but think it was around the early 90s, cannot remember the date but I know there was a blue industral steam locomotive there.
Rest In Peace Rugeley Power Station. Great clips Simon!
Thank you Sam's Vlogs trains & more
Thanks for sharing, still a lot better then the live stream on the day 😀
Thank you Christine's Rail Journeys
Love the compilation. Could say the one today was not what we all expected 😂
I did see your video, just kind of jumped out lol, glad that I didn't filmed that one now, Thank you.
Fantastic clips, well captured.
Thank you MT 48
Is it Rest In Peace Rugeley Power Station or not just yet. Some incredible explosions from such a safe distance. Very good footage.
There still some bits left but it's stuff that they don't need to blow up now
Coal fired lives matter
hi simon

Thank you Michael.
Nice to see a compilation.
I was on an outage there when 'A' station boiler house was levelled....
And everyone lost their TV signal 🙄
I don't remember that being honest about the lose of TV Signal but thanks for the kind comment on the compilation
Thanks for getting this filmed.
No worries, it's something that I wanted to do since it was local, Thanks antman09ful

Thanks Flymochairman1
I bet it was amazing to be there in person? Didn't realise they did it in stages?
First one started on the 14th February 2019 and the last one 24th June 2021. But happy to see most of it coming down. Thanks Jacob's Rail Adventures.
I was driving down the A51 one night and looked over to see the power station had disappeared! I had no idea they were demolishing it!
Very nice comp. :) It is the end of an era with the rugeley power station being demolished. I just hope the maccies is still standing. XD
Maccies is still standing lol, Thanks Reuben
The demise of our great industrial heritage, Rugeley was taken out of service way too early.

I thought I saw a wind turbin in the Background.
There is one I have seen it myself
I went to an open day there in 1988.

That’s another power station destroyed
I know, soon to be none. Then what? Sad.
It is sadly, thanks The brummie Rail enthusiasts
