Thank you, a quick summarized perspective, without having to look up my specific model. It's deff a two inch, not a three. Boss doesn't like it when you spend 45 min researching model types, and two trips for the same item is frowned upon. Have a great day
The spud gasket that came in the universal replacement kit is too tall, makes the tank sit too high on the toilet and wobble. The old gasket seemed to be actually lining the hole in the toilet, is that something that's still available ? Thank you for the video.
Hi, I would bring the old washer into a hardware store and match it up. There are few styles available. We have more home improvement tips on our weekly podcast itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/fix-it-home-improvement/id880903087?mt=2
What did you end up doing??? I thought I had the same problem that it makes the tank sit just a little bit high & wobble a little. But I just watched a video by Ken Peel named "Toilet tank to bowl gasket" & he shows that his tank was wobbling (& you could hear porcelain hitting porcelain when it wobbled as with mine) & he showed that the gasket actually wasn't tall enough to reach the bowl/go down far enough to seal with the back of the bowl. He bought another taller one & shows that he put that on & the tank is much more steady & doesn't leak. I'm going back to the hardware store today lol.
I have an old Gerber Toilet (1989 stamp on the inside of the tank) and the ring under the flapper is measuring at 2-3/8"... does this mean I have to find a 2-3/8" gasket?
What if the hole in the toilet is a little bigger than 2 inches? Closer to 2.5. The toilet is from 1983 and it sounds like the 2 incher will work. Let me know! Thanks!
My toilet from the 70's is American Standard and it's a 4 bolt. So I can measure the diameter of the drain hole (where the flapper is) for the tank to toilet gasket?
Hi, yes, measure the ID of the area under the flapper. If it is about 2 inches, you have a 2 inch flush valve. We have more home improvement tips on our weekly podcast itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/fix-it-home-improvement/id880903087?mt=2
I have an Eljer 464 model. Just tried to fix it with a universal 2 in". Does anyone know if there is a low profile type gasket instead of those big red ones? The old one seems to be about half the height and doesn't seem to be the same style as the ones that slip over that huge plastic nut on the bottom of the tank... I can't figure this out. A little help would be awesome from anyone.

Hi, a 2 inch flapper usually covers about 2 3/4 of an inch.
Made this mistake today. I though, "how could I go wrong with a Universal kit that fits 99% of toilets!" Yikes.
