  • Replacing the factory Stereo CD Tape head unit in a 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ. The process is the same in 1997-2001 ‘97-‘01 Jeep Cherokee XJ’s.

      You’re very welcome! I’m glad this still helps people out after all these years. I also have a video on how to add factory cruise control to these Jeeps, too.

    Have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with a factory Jeep 56002467(1991) AM/FM Cassette Player and swapped out the tape modules in two 2467 cases. Now I have me some rocking tunes. Now what I need to know is what is the cause of either the left or right channel going out on a 2467 and on a 56009004(1992) the volume knob is maxed out but still need just a little bit more volume.

    actually trying to do the opposite and installing the factory radio, getting rid of the aftermarket one. Does that ground on the factory radio simply need to be tied into the chassis?

      The ground lead came from the factory wiring bundle. Should be there still… even with an aftermarket radio install. But yes, that is simply a chassis DC ground connection.

    Great video. Easy and to the point. Were you required to do any soldering? Also, what mounting system did you use? Thanks!

      M C Didn’t require any soldering. It was a setup from eBay that included the dash kit & wiring harness.

      @@thomasjtsi Do you need the wire harness or just the mount? And use the existing wires in car?

      M C The dash kit is what mounts the new stereo into the dash. The wiring harness wires to the new stereo wiring and plugs into the factory harness.

    I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport , will mine have the female ground wire aswell ? And I ordered a wiring harness off amazon , will that harness come with a ground wire , and also will I have to go buy a male groundwire connector and put it on the ground wire?

    • @thomasjtsi
      @thomasjtsi  4 роки тому +1

      Nate Dogg The harness will not have a ground wire on it. You have to wire the black ground wire from the aftermarket stereo harness directly to the female plug I disconnected from the back of the factory stereo. It does ease installation if you put a male connector on the black ground wire coming from the aftermarket stereo harness... you don’t have to, though. You can cut the ground female plug off and attach those two wires together for your ground.
