keep an eye on your indicators, i installed those same sylvania bulbs in mine a couple years ago and the bulb in the T-case indicator actually got hot enough to start to melt the plastic part with the 2hi, 4hi etc on it.
Damn she is clean clean clean. Keep up the videos man I like them they are paced well and done well I hate when someone in a how to video spends 5 minutes talking about nonsense lol
LEDs have a certain polarity ritght? Like you said, one way they don't turn, in that case you just flip them, but when I swapped my shift bulb for an LED elecrical problems started to show... the battery dried out, and for example I also changed the headlights, they are always on, since they use less coltage they "feedback" and they are kept on... do you need to change the relays so this doesn't happen or have you heard or had any problems like mine???
I will say the superbrights are nice during an overcast day, but i've regularly had to dim my interior lights come night time. I'm thinking of finding a lower lumen option eventually, as i like the slight color change and general increase in visibility, but the superbrights were definitely excessive for my preference.
I just got a new center consul but it didn’t come with a gear shifter panel and the four-wheel-drive panel.. Do you No anywhere where I could get some?
Use Goof Off, get a rag and wet it and go to town, just make sure you dont rub too hard and take off the clear coat. Or try hot water, like boiling hot.
These are the ones I used in the video: Sylvania Zevo 194 White T10 W5W Socket LED Super Bright Interior Exterior Vehicle Car Lighting Applications Light Bulb Set (2 Pack) www.amazon.com/dp/B07J516FB4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_WRXC453W5YAEGTRB8XJ0
When you do the bulb on the 4x4 bezel is taking the console out the only way to get to it? Or does it pop out like the transmission one I tried to but I wasn't sure if I was about to break it
Personally I don't see the advantage super bright auto selector lights brings?! It's just distracting especially at night but hey I'm just an old guy so wtf do I know 😆
Thanks. I took a closer look at it and it seems like it’s etched into the paint so I’m worried that if I use the eraser wheel, it might get rid of the adhesive but then I might be left with an indent in the paint
I like to make my cluster and everything else, very dim. It's great for night driving and doesn't destroy your night vision... Just want to make the engine lights dimmable now 🤣
@@KCars There's a bigger risk breaking it by pushing the tabs 🤣 I almost pushed a screwdriver straight through the socket in an attempt to "push the tabs" A wonder it didn't break. It's as durable as the JEEP 🤣
I was searching for how to pull out that light socket since the light is dead. I hope. The light died after my 1.5 year old kid, who sat om Mommy lap, accidentally kicked my coffee cup and some coffee went down there... 😱 I think the LED is too bright for driving in complete darkness.... I changed the diode the previous owner had put at the gear changer to an original light bulb. Maybe I find an LED with less lumen. I have all Coupe lights in white LED. It looks amazing. Plus, the LED's doesn't emit heat, have more lumen per watt so they are using very little power.
When you lifted the XJ, did you install a transfer case drop kit to keep your drive line as straight as possible? If not, that would be a very large reason for your shaking and shuddering. If you did then the SYE should fix it for you. Doing a transfer case drop kit install prior the SYE would be the best case scenario.
No I didn’t do the drop kit. The shaking issue didn’t happen after I got it lifted though, it developed after a few months of the lift kit being installed and I noticed it right after I got it back from the body shop. Is it possible that when the body shop put it up on the lift, something got messed up that could’ve caused that?
@@KCars it's possible. Drop kits are very inexpensive and take very little time to install. I'd do that, drive it for a few days to see if you still get the shuddering. If so, your driveline is healthier regardless and the SYE will more than likely do the trick.
Already have the SYE ordered so just waiting on that. I’ve heard Rusty’s is way behind on orders now so who knows how long it’ll be. Appreciate your responses!
@@KCars Hope I was off some assistance! Been driving XJ's since 86. Can't imagine being without one now. It's just a vehicle that isn't duplicated anywhere in the modern market.

I just got a 95 xj. Doing the instrument cluster and dome light LED. Great video
That’ll look good, thanks!
Well I know what I'm doing this weekend
They definitely look cool, but they were a little too bright for me when driving at night. I ended up replacing them with incandescent bulbs.

Really? Aren’t LEDs supposed to be low heat? I’ll have to look out for that, thanks!
@@KCars yeah thats what i thought too
Interesting
Have you had any heating problems since installing them?
No. I actually switched them back to incandescent bulbs because the LEDs were too bright for me. I haven’t had any heat issues with them
Thank you just did it to my 99 XJ!
Did the same upgrade but didn't use the "super bright " sylvania, I hope to do the guage cluster, thanks for the video

The same sylvania 194’s normal led’s are great. They were not too bring at all
Good to hear, thanks!
I used the blue light looks good
I’m pretty happy with it, thanks!
Hey do you know where I can get the actually shift indicator and 4WD strips because my bulbs burned into the plastic strip
I’m not sure, if you can find one at a junk yard that’s probably your best bet

Magic eraser on that sticker bit on the back if it's dug into it tho it'll probably need wet sanding
I’ll have to look into that, somebody else recommended 3M eraser. I’m assuming that should be pretty similar

I’m not familiar with that year but I’d assume so

Bro where do you buy these lights? Can you please send link or site ? Thanks
I believe I got these from advance auto parts or auto zone
When you do the bulb on the 4x4 bezel is taking the console out the only way to get to it? Or does it pop out like the transmission one I tried to but I wasn't sure if I was about to break it
Yes it pops out like the transmission one, check out the video, I showed how it pops off
Can you still dim those LED replacements with the dimmer knob?
Yes they are still dimmable but they ended up being too bright for me even at the dimmest level. I ended up replacing them with halogens
What part # light bulbs did you replace them with? @@KCars
Will these fit the gauge cluster? what size are bulbs if you dont mind is it t15 or t10
I haven’t done the gauge cluster so I can’t say for sure. I used 194 bulbs in this video
