This is a phenomenal video! As someone who has reached a significant age milestone recently, I’m doing everything I can to continue as a sports photographer for decades to come. I cannot tell you the number of colleagues who by the time they reach 60 had to have significant surgeries to repair knees shoulders, and other limbs from carrying camera bags that were overloaded. Although it may seem inconvenient, for those genres that allow it, embrace the wheeled case! Thank you for this important and unique video!
What a great topic Tony. And very well presented. It’s often overlooked or not spoken about in the photo community. Yet so very important to everyone who wishes to enjoy the most out of life for the longest time! It doesn’t take much time or effort each day to help improve your ability to stay active and safe, out in nature, enjoying time with our cameras. Best of luck to you as we enter into this new year.
Wonderful video and a great reminder to the importance of staying healthy as we age. As a 70yo LF/ULF photographer who does a fair amount of landscape work I realized a few years ago that if I wanted to continue working with these cameras I needed to stay in shape to haul these big heavy cameras around. The added benefit here is that it will make my overall life and life expectancy better. thanks for the video and advice
Thank you for sharing your story with all of us. I’m really happy that you are still carrying around your LF cameras! That’s great to hear! Thanks for watching. 😎 Happy New Year!
Great question. All of the ACSM guidelines I reviewed in this video apply to your situation as well. The only specific consideration would be working on shoulder strength to ensure your selfie arms are ready for action. Thanks for watching! 😎

Can you do a video on a specific exercise program for (smartphone) selfie photographers?
