Definitely planning to get it, $50 seems like alot for a remake/remaster but if theres one game i can say is worth it, its crisis core. I played thIs into the ground when it was originally released and it remains a favorite to this day, rebuilt with modern technology im eager to experience it all over again.

The DMW never bothered me, whenever it triggered, it would never hurt me and only help, but you never have to rely on it. I just always saw it as a fun random event that might happen.
the first few times it was a bit WTF then it became a chance for a break during a hard fight when it would kick up lol
It also gave that heartbreaking detail towards the end....

What are you talking about? Lmmfao having a random spinning roulette being the only way to increase your level is an absolutely atrocious gaming mistake. I’ve never heard of this game, no one I ever met has heard of this game.
It makes sense, as it seems useless to fight any enemies lmfao if I don’t get experience for killing an enemy, there’s no reason to fight. Games wack
@@thesmitty467 It has pseudo random level ups. Game keeps track of your fights and keeps hidden exp, your levels will vary from playthrough to playthrough. Though for you, just watch a Let's Play, at least know Zack's story.

To try and sway you on the DMW, from a gameplay perspective, okay sure, randomness might be meh. But the part that makes me love the DMW is the implication of what it means. Zack is supposed to be mid battle, and experiencing a change in his thoughts/emotions. He thinks of "sephiroth" and pulls off an octolash inspired move. And that's massively apparent during the final "battle" and cut scenes of crisis core. That's what really sold me on the DMW was the "narrative" and personal implication.
Remaster = basic improvement in graphics, audio, sticks to source material. Remake = rebuilt from the ground up for current gen hardware.. improvement in graphics, audio, dialogue and gameplay mechanics. Possible addition of new gameplay mechanics/voice-over narration. That's my difference between the two terms.
So Crisis Core Reunion walks the line between Remaster and Remake for you then

While some of the characters, like Sephiroth and Genesis, look slightly odd in this version, I really must say, Angeal looks AMAZING! Like, not only does he look a LOT like his original character, but it almost looks like his level of detail is actually higher than everyone else's, as well as his face looking most like a realistic face (rather that a compromise between realism and the anime stylings of Nomura) of anyone.
On a more general note, already pre-ordered this game, even if just because this game deserves to be bought!
Genesis looks kinda realistic. Sephiroth just got fucked over.

So excited for this game, since I never got to finish my original. I always wanted this and Parasite Eve as a full visual remake but still keeping the same mechanics. It looks like we got that here, and really hoping I one day get the same for Aya Brea.

I'm just curious about how everyone feels about the voice acting of certain characters and the new graphics. I'm most likely getting this but those two areas kinda give me mixed feelings.
The new voices….are definitely something I won’t get uset to, I have half a mind to mute the reunion voices and have the og cc voices play in the background 😅 and just pretend their the real voices

I already preordered on ps5 and will be getting it on switch for the nostalgia of playing it on the go, as long as it’s not a cloud game.

ok, so here is the thing about the price. Do you know how much it would cost any random modern console owner if they don't want to wait for December and wanted to play Crisis Core right now? .....well, you can't. What you would have to do is go to eBay and buy a PSP which ranges from $25 (not counting shipping) and then pick up the game itself which ranges from $25 (not counting shipping). And you would have to wait for all of that to ship. So even if you got a sus $25 PSP (hoping it runs), and the game you would STILL be coming out of pocket for $50+. So the price seems oddly perfect given the market for the game on PSP.
Personally? I am getting it for steam, PS5 and switch digitally, and probably switch and PS4 physically (depending on if the PS5 disc actually has the game or just a download key). Why? It's one of my favorite games of all time, and I had to spend $100+ just to get it on PSP last year. So now, I'm going to make sure I can play it whenever I want regardless of what happens with licenses, or digital games, or whatever for the rest of my life.

Pre-ordered already, but not directly from Steam storefront so cost is closer to $40. I have already played Crisis Core through on PSP and rate it slightly higher than Final Fantasy 7: Remake which I also enjoyed with some caveats.

Honestly, the only thing deterring me from getting it is that Zack’s and Aerith original voice actors are not in the game.

I never had the chance to play the original since I never could afford any of the original compatible systems, so getting the chance to play this version on a variety of systems is great. I really love the story though!

Honestly I didn't have much of an issue with the DMW. It was a minor annoyance towards the fluidity of combat but towards the end of the game it played a role in a way that I can't say without spoiling.
I already played it on psp and I got back log of games to finish, hope everyone will have fun with the game. I just feel off with Voice changing but hopefully it’s fun for everyone
I honestly wouldn't have mind paying $70 for this on ps5, knowing how much work they put in.
I think Square took the PSP game, reused the assets within reason, and gave it an update to work with the FF7 remake on modern platforms. And I'm really looking forward to it.

I got it for my series x, which I never touch. Man I am having a blast explaining to my roommate the lore and characters while playing as Zack all these years later
About damn time! Forget why they could never port it (some music licensing issue or something) but I guess remastering it got them out of that jam. Really annoying having to go through storage just to find the chargers and crap to play this on my dusty old psp.
I bought the game for the psp, and I count the $50 well worth it. Not even mad I have to spend money on this game again.
I remember playing the original and really loving it. As for the story; back then I didn’t care so much. I was amazed at the fighting aspects of the game. And Zack in my opinion was a more likeable guy to be playing as. Will spend 50 for this for sure, cause I never finished it in the first place.

I want to buy it, but at the same time I want to wait for it. Love the game, I have the original copy with me even if I don't own a PSP no more.
But eh... I dunno, Square deals on PC have been very... calculated to make sure they milk every single penny, and I don't feel like spending the full 50$ on release because of it. It's not the game itself, it's the way the company have been threating the PC comunity for a good while now. I will probably get if I can, but I won't put this above other releases.
Note: If you're asking what I mean by how they threat the PC comunity, here's a small list:
Regional Pricing doesn't exist, they charge us full price, good. However, for certain games, such as Final Fantasy 7 REmake, they make us wait two years, then release with the full price on Epic games first, alienating the people who uses Steam only then a year later they release the game on Steam for full price, AGAIN.
The fact that they released the game at full price on PS4, but decided to release DLC content only for the PS5, making everyone who paid for the game on release feeling like fools (even now, owning a PS5 is absurdly hard and difficult in most countries).
They only fixed a game when people harrassed them not to buy the next release of that series, years after it was released on steam. The game is only playable without problems because we said we would NOT buy the next game if we didn't get a fix other platforms already had.
Anyway. I'm sure it'll be an awesome game. But frankly I'm taking a few steps back when it comes to Square because of how they are doing stuff. And I didn't forgot about the NFT stuff they keep trying to shove down on us XD. Anyway, to anyone who's gonna get it on release: Good playtime. I hope it comes without any issues.

People whine so much about the DMW like everything has to be the exact same as every rpg ever or you get "triggered" stfu. The system is fine. It adds a unique twist to the game and makes every battle different. Even the little random battles.

Just bought p5r & soul hackers 2 for $30 each as well as shin megami tensei 3 for $20. The most I've splurged for a game recently is $40 Tactics Ogre Reborn & that's because Tactics Ogre is that one game for me that I remember seeing on the shelve at electronics boutique and immediately dropping the cash. It was the same for Lunar on ps1.

Its one of those games i missed out on. I had a psp and but when i got the og fat 60gb ps3 i traded my psp and games in to help ease the crazy price of the ps3. Its still the most I’ve payed for a home console. I’ve always wanted to play the game and I’m going to go pick it up today. I have a ps5 and series x but will probably pick it up for the ps5. No point in getting it for the pc plus i hate buying digital and I don’t think its gonna push the consoles that much. I almost thought about the switch version to keep it on a handheld, i have an original and oled switch but it only running it at 30 would suck. I could play it on the steam deck but I haven’t seen how it runs on it. How long did it take to beat the original game? I need to go try out high on life and try the next gen update of the Witcher 3.
Honestly it’s like going from FFX/X-2 Graphics to FF12/13 I’d say that alone without thr game being tuned up mechanically is worth the 50 of freeing this totem from its relegation to PSP hell

Let's talk about FFVII Crisis Core Reunion: 1) Don't bitch about price point, if you don't want to pay for it at full price then you don't need to play it on day one or at all 2) Don't be like you don't already know what your getting as almost everyone knows this story, played it or at least heard about it and it's pretty much the same game with the updates. 3) At the end of the day it's a remaster of a PSP game just like Type-0 but we all know that everyone bitched about that too so just don't. 4) You can't be disappointed if you already KNOW!

Since I remember the PSP game being an essential pick back then, I'm definitely not getting this unless it's at least 50% discounted. Especially because nothing new got added.
Dude the game play has been improved and rebuilt so it fits into the current timeline and look of the RE:make universe. Who's to say they did not add a secret ending explaining what how or why Zack is seemingly [redacted] in Remake
Unless I see this "secret ending" being presented somewhere, it doesn't exist. I don't assume anything positive with SE until I'm shown proof.

Crisis Core is a Remaster. Tactics Ogre is a fresh paint and the term "fresh" is used loosely.

Physical copies still exist, just saying. The physical game is $40, so go get that one. And I agree, $50 is asking a bit too much, it's a remaster with a few features to make it a remake excuse. But the game is so good that most people like me will end up giving away up to $70 to get to play it.
Considering that the original is worth more than $50 I’d say it’s worth it. Especially with games that have been coming out recently. We’ve had Gungrave, evil west, Valkyrie Elysium, and Pokémon scarlet all released at 59.99 even when none of them was worth that.

@@JohnnyInJapan shut your mouth girl. I played 60 hrs of it and it’s trash. Frame drops are stupid for a game of that caliber, no voice acting for cut scenes and it’s what 2023? Pulse NPCs shake harder than Hellen Kellar while you’re trying to speak to them. It’s an awful mess that Pokémon fans defend for some reason. Pokémon arceus is and will forever be 10000000x’s better than scarlet.

DMW was really weird. It looks like it was all random but it will give you predetermined results during story related battles. Argh, but okay fine. I just let it do its business...
But for the remake, at least we can keep the DMW prizes for future use.
