I like the background you give about how they fit into the 40k universe. I really like necron warriors and you give a good overall guide of how to get the best from them and although you give your own opinion you also give all the options that people can use, very good video
I abused these guys back in 7th ed, had to ignore them in favor of destroyers in 8th, now I'm back to spamming them in 9th. I love the reapers and ghost arks combo, they clean house.
warriors were great in 7th especially since gauss had the auto glancing hit on 6s. i played a campaign and my friend brought a hellbrute on the first game (progressive army type of campigne) and i killed it super easy by just rolling 6s in rapid fire range
you still need destroyers in 9th IMO. destroyers are overcosted in 9th but the gauss cannon is still the best gun for killing primaris marines. necrons dont really have any other midrange guns that have decent AP and do 2 damage.
Thank you, one of your best videos yet, a focus on one Unit, it's Character Buffs, Relic value, Stratagems and the nuances of Reanimation Protocols. Perfect. More like that please. 🏆
I had my first game with the new Codex about a week ago and I can confirm that Necron Warriors are absolutely disgusting to deal with. I had one lucky set of rolls with 10 Gauss Reapers and Mephrit's Talent for Annihilation do 7 MW to a Maulerfiend. It was insane! They're so so good now!
20 Warriors, 1 Technomancer and 1 Ghost Ark. Average 3-4 resurrected per command phase. Not counting normal Reanimation Protocols, the unit should be extremely resilient over the course of a game and can be solid in any dynasty. Technomancer with Canoptek Cloak can help keep the Ghost Ark up and running.
Well 1.67 wounds vs Marines at long range is not even a full marine down, I know that's not what everyone will be running but I'd say its the most common.
I just played against necron immortals with the new rules and fuck, they are incredibly strong. I never even took out an entire unit. I’d kill one and it would just pop back up. It is a fresh hell playing against Necrons.
Just start in sudden storm protacal +1 move and with ya noble 6 inch extra +1 to move that's 7 inch for necrons with a 12 inch gun 19 inch threat range and mephrit for extra 3 inch 22 inch range not accounting for an advance 1 to 6 23 to 28 inch threat range
Quick question about the new RP. If our opponent is shooting multiple weapons from the same unit of models. Say a group of orc boyz is firing slugga's, a rockit launcha and a schorcha. Do we wait till all guns have fired to roll RP or do we wait for the sluggas, roll for rp, after the rockit launcha, roll for rp, after the schorcha, roll for rp?
Its at the end of that unit resolving all its shots. So if all weapons fired at the same unit, you wait. If they split-fired, and there was no more shooting against a unit with its remaining weapons you could roll, but technically you should wait until that unit finishes
@Auspex Tactics What character do you think would be the best bearer for the veil of darkness for an aggressive 20 man reaper squad? Chronomancer. Technomancer, warden and lord all seem good for a lot of reasons.
The warden is the best character for veiling. since you can fall back and shoot. the last thing you want is your warrior blob getting bogged down in melee where theyre totally useless.
@@Khobai I agree on what the benefit is. But on the other side, the technomancer restoring models to the unit, or a 5++, or rerolling 1s to wound, and a rez orb, are also strong benefits.
@@ianjankus8090 a chronomancer can give them 5++ before they veil with the warden. so theyll at least have the 5++ for one turn. i think not getting bogged down in melee is the most important benefit.

Potential plan I’m considering, but as a returning player who hasn’t played since 7th launched and has a lot of 2nd Ed still in my head I just need to check viability. 1500 point game. Monolith drops in 2nd/3rd turn, spent 1cp for prismatic dimensional breach to immediately deploy 20 warriors with reapers out the front door. Can I get away with that? If well place that’s suddenly a huge threat in the middle/2nd third of the board Taking out key targets with some solid results, or claiming objectives. Question is can I do that? While the monolith portal rule says you need to have remained stationary, and deep striking of course counts as moving, the CP ability does not state a requirement for being stationary.
@@MichaelRivera-le3ye on eBay I found an even better deal for 10 Warriors for 18 dollars and I was able to get him down to 15, he has multiple sets and a definitely worth checking out.
Im completly new to the hobby and my Necron army is basicly Indomitus Box. Warriors are only ones not assembled yet becouse of weapon choice dilema they present. My understanding of game is very vague but correct me if I'm wrog with assumption that reapers seem to be better - despite fact that i don't have any transport yet. Im kind of concerned that they may die off before getting into range tho (or at least in numbers that will outscale additional shots made with Flayers). I would appriciate some advices. Also don't get me wrong - this video is awesome in terms of explaining deep and focused characteristic of this unit (realny great job here and I'm thankful for this) - I simply lack grander view of the game.
If you started with indomitus box, play better gauss flayer. Pretty easier to combine and test all dynasties to see which one you prefer or how you feel more confortable to play. Gauss reaper are stronger in Mephrit dynastie and tactics like veil of darkness or vehicle.. To start in table with reapers that means pressent 130points.
As of the "push fit" design on the Necron warriors in the indomitus box and the overall design of the model if you don't glue the arms you can simply swap arms and weapons on them. It is a little bit fiddely but it works, I have done so on my warriors I have built from that box so far and it works fine. So maybe assemble 10 with reapers and 10 with flayers and try them out in either a big mixed squad or two 10 man squads. And try them out to see which weapon you like them most and switch everyone over to that weapon. It also gives you the flexibility to swap all warriors weapons back and fourth if you change your playstyle further down the line and feel that the other weapon would fit better.
@@SWATJocke Yea, that seems to be best soultion. I'll separete them into two 10 man squads. Something tells me that I will butcher them while trying to swap weapons, heh. Since they have different names (and the technomancer’s is slightly different, though on warriors the result is the same), I think you should be able to use both
I think its fairly clear they can each be used, but only once per ability. So if you had two ghost arks and two technomancers: each type could be used on the warriors for a total of 2D3, however, you couldn't have both ghost arks do it to the same unit
Flayers are better for sitting on objectives and taking shots at units, whereas Reapers are better for being aggressive and pushing the enemy away from objectives.
