V Clarity that's one of the main reasons I'm looking at this phone. Two of the biggest problems with modern phones are the lack of headphone jack, and the increasingly small bezels. Apple & Sony need to take notes from Samsung as far as the headphone jack. They make multiple versions of the same phone anyway, they need to make versions where you can use wired ones and wireless ones when you want.
Kene Okpareke Samsung have always been thicker and heavier. Which tbh I wish apple would do. But at the same time just get over the headphone jack and buy Bluetooth. A lot of these high end audiophile headphones require a amp or dac anyway and I doubt you’ll carry one around for your phone. Price seems like Apple line, does a mobile phone need 12 GB RAM??? memory like a laptop in pocket, Samsung screens always looks brighter and sharper than other brands, i like S10 design.
Apple gives you current-year (or late) hardware so they don't need to innovate next year. 12GB RAM is overkill for now, but in 5 years it won't be. You'll be happily rocking an S10 like it's new.
XR is no comparison to S10E. Some people saying they could get a flagship for 700, this IS A FLAGSHIP!! With a slightly smaller screen, its still miles better than the so called flagship killers like one plus. Better screen quality and resolution, wireless charging, ip68 rated, 3.5mm jack, top of the line chip set etc...
Thank you so much for this. I’m a woman, so having smaller hands, the S10E draws me in the most. I love the whole design. In my opinion, the S9 was awkwardly long, too big, and I didn’t like the curved screen. The S10E seems to solve all of these issues, plus it costs less than the others. Definitely considering upgrading from my S6 now. Samsung’s phones have the best cameras which, to me, is the most important aspect. Which is why I didn’t want to switch to an iPhone. Now I’m glad I skipped out on the S9 when I was considering an upgrade last year.
Dated? On what basis? In this day and age, the typical consumer will simply see a premium smartphone, regardless of brand. There really isn't much left any more to distinguish one from another. We have officially reached "peak smartphone". People will base their decision to purchase this phone over the iPhone, or vice versa, on the basis of brand familiarity and associated/exclusive services, and little else. Otherwise (for a vast majority of consumers, anyway) it's all the same.
@@TheAxlin hardware is very different. IOS is saving apple. But apple was a company which had innovation. Not just in software. Now they just do software and pricing. Apple never released an phone which didn't have something new.. but people die. And so does apple (a little for now)

S10e FTW S10e is relatively great value compared to the more expensive versions. The sacrifices here are not as glaring as those of the iPhone XR. S10e only really sacrifices the telephoto cam which isn't a biggie for most. The in-screen fingerprint reader and more immersive displays (although they are equally 500+ ppi) aren't too much to sacrifice as their presence doesn't really improve UX over their lack there-off. Those who are patient enough to wait till Q2, 2019 when the 5G model will be launched should be able to snatch this for a lower price.
The S10e is a slap in the face to Apple, far more advanced technology, Touch ID, thin bezels, AMOLED display, and still has a dual camera ohh yeah and let’s not forget the IP68
@@youtindia Tiny? 3100 vs 3400? That's less than 10% difference and it's screen is also smaller. So, I would bet the screen-on time will be similar for the S10 and the S10e. And like Marques said, the battery is still slightly bigger than the S9, which wasn't the worst battery last year.

Very tempting. Happy I held out and didn’t upgrade my iphone 7 to the XS. Honestly still works great but this is the first phone in years that has me excited.
Omni Media Group I didn’t mean to bash the XS, but well ahead? I’d have to disagree. XS - 2436x1125 at 458ppi, 2658mah, a12, 4 gb ram, and starts at 64gb storage S10e- 2280x1440 at 438ppi, 3100mah, SD 855, 6/8gb ram, and starts at 128gb storage. Apple camera is most likely better, won’t argue that. But I have a dslr and don’t really use my phone camera. Everything else is damn close. Edit- Also S10e is $750 vs $1000 XS
BeachJedi101 specs don’t tell the whole story, especially as far as ram. I’m just saying. I don’t knock the s10e either. It’s a great phone for the price range. iOS is great at ram management, which is why apple phones usually have less ram. My XS is faster than anything I’ve ever had, apple and Samsung included. Samsung usually has bigger things in their devices such as ram and storage, because they need those things to keep in line with apple, which is totally fine. I loved my galaxy S8 when I had it. Apple flopped on the XR. Not enough tech to justify the price. But as far as how well the devices actually run, the XS will come out on top of the s10e every time.
Marco Jansen i just don’t understand why people get the newest phones every year. an s9 is a great phone and unless its all fucked up I just don’t see a reason to upgrade
@@kr1t704 its a rich person thing. Im not even trying to use that joke but people who can afford to upgrade with little effect on themselves financially tend to do so because "why not". Note this is coming from someone who doesnt have this luxury lol.
Camera are same just that it skips on the telephoto lens. And honestly the curved screen was a pain cause curved tempered glasses sucked. And the fingerprint reader on the s10 doesnt work when any sort of tempered glass is applied so i guess 10e is the better option friend
Main reason I purchased is because it didn't have the curved edges. I didn't care about the extra camera. This camera is awesome and the location of the fingerprint sensor is no big deal. I love it. Had it a week now. Oh.. and the headphone jack is back! 😍
The reason I'll likely get the S10e isn't the price. It's the size. I HATE BIG SCREENS. And while the S10e still has an oversized screen, at least the overall size of the phone is the same as the S7. As for the compromises...apart from the screen resolution (which sits at 438ppi, NOT above 500 as you claim in the video) they're ones I'm fine with. I don't care about zoom cameras and as long as the fingerprint scanner isn't on the back, I'm fine with it.
I mean, have we forgotten MKBHD video about cameras, and how people chose the poco phone as the best. Why do you need better pictures? Most people take pictures for social media, and any modern phone more than $500 has already a great camera for social media. I wish they didn't treat "smaller" phones as the cheaper one, but rather just a smaller version
I've been using my beautiful white Samsung Galaxy S10e for three years now, and dread the day I'll have to upgrade it. It's still buttery smooth and the way it fits in the hand is better than any phone I've ever used-and most definitely better than the current crop of flagships. I hadn't reset my phone in over 2.5 years and it had become slow as molasses, so I briefly considered upgrading to the S22. I went to the store and tried it out, but it felt like a significant downgrade from the S10e. It's not just the fact that it's larger but the chunkier squared off sides made it much less comfortable to hold and use than my phone. I came home and reset my phone that night and restored it from backups. I lost no data and it became as fast and smooth as new. It's been one month since then and I'm so glad I didn't pull the trigger on the S22. I've dropped it innumerable times, in every manner and on every surface conceivable, but it's withstood everything beautifully. I've had to get the rear glass replaced a couple of times, the front glass once, and the camera glass cover once-all of which cost me peanuts compared to what it does on the newer devices. I've never put a case on it, before or after the shatters, and it wears the dings and scratches with pride. It's a solid, well built and well used phone. I sometimes wonder whether the people at Samsung who designed these phones realise what an absolute gem this phone is. Don't they use it alongside the newer devices and realise that we're going back in terms of quality? If Samsung ever released this exact same physical device with upgraded internal components, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat! It's the best goddamn phone ever made.
I currently use an S7 Edge, I was waiting for an on screen fingerprint reader by Samsung, but i've also been wanting a smaller phone, and I think the S10E is the one for me, cos the size trumps the fingerprint reader.
upgrading from s7 edge to s10e. fingerprint is in a 100x better location than s8 and s9, size is much better, and cases/screen protectors will super easy to make for it. Hello $5 screen protectors.

It's done for feature-proofing, so that the phone doesn't lag when new updates roll out ( *I think* )
@@nathanows7 its done because people think that's what they want/need
Just for power users who have a lot of money to spend. You can go down in RAM.
nah, apple wouldnt give you 12gb ram, theyd just add a glass back and call it innovation
Naaahhh😒
It’s basically a 1+ device but with a poorer battery which isn’t much of an issue tbh. So if 1+ is considered a flagship so is this.
The Software and the performance of OnePlus devices are still unmatched even with the top of the line flasgships.
And look like shit
Roy Coto you mean the Xr ??
Thank you so much for this. I’m a woman, so having smaller hands, the S10E draws me in the most. I love the whole design. In my opinion, the S9 was awkwardly long, too big, and I didn’t like the curved screen. The S10E seems to solve all of these issues, plus it costs less than the others. Definitely considering upgrading from my S6 now. Samsung’s phones have the best cameras which, to me, is the most important aspect. Which is why I didn’t want to switch to an iPhone. Now I’m glad I skipped out on the S9 when I was considering an upgrade last year.

Apple is done, and I am an Apple user/buyer through and through. S10 just made all iPhone line-up looks dated. Amazing work Samsung!

S10e FTW
S10e is relatively great value compared to the more expensive versions.
You just forget headphone jack, expandable memory storage, and dual sim card slot.

Very tempting. Happy I held out and didn’t upgrade my iphone 7 to the XS. Honestly still works great but this is the first phone in years that has me excited.
BeachJedi101 the XS is well ahead of the 10se. I’ve been a fan of both brands for a while. Went iPhone this time around and I love my XS
Omni Media Group I didn’t mean to bash the XS, but well ahead? I’d have to disagree.
XS - 2436x1125 at 458ppi, 2658mah, a12, 4 gb ram, and starts at 64gb storage
S10e- 2280x1440 at 438ppi, 3100mah,
SD 855, 6/8gb ram, and starts at 128gb storage.
