AGREED! We should definitely preserve history and tell it like it is or else we are doomed to repeat it. My father in-law used to go here when he was a child and has many fond memories of the state park. That smell is something else and there is always a line of people looking to fill up their bottles. They say it has healing properties. Thanks for sharing the history and the adventure!
Definitely a lot of history there! Probably been to this state park more times than any other since we grew up in the area. There were a lot of people down there filling up their water bottles when we were there as well. Thanks for watching!
Great history and info about this oldest state park in Georgia! Would love to camp near that lovely lake. That spring water has healing properties…wow!
Always interesting to hear the story behind historic sites. The amount of work completed by the CCC across the country blows me away. Thanks for video!
Thanks for the excellent info on the park, I appreciate all the video's you do as it has given me many hiking options for when I visit the USA some time in the future.
Thank you for taking us along on your adventure! That park brings back a lot of memories from my child hood. And as usual thanks for the education. Great job!
Such a great history lesson. We wouldn't be who we all are without experiences like these. Great job showing all the history and making it fun to watch.
I used to live in Georgia for a year. I never got to explore much of the nature since I was mostly training to become an IT specialist in the Army. But this was cool and interesting to see! I need to go back and do some exploring.
I appreciate how you handled the truth of the history of our state park. My ancestors are from there & I am anxious to learn as much about my great great grandmother's Indian heritage as possible! Thanks, this was great info & told beautifully.
We love history and we don't believe it should be watered down We believe the truth should be told no matter how ugly or bad it might sound The future generations don't repeat it. Glad you enjoyed the video 🙂 There's so much history there and it's a beautiful place ❤️
@@NickandRachel I really love hearing about what happened in the past and seeing all of the historic structures really makes me grateful for what I have today. Little things like flushing toilets and A/C truly make me glad to be alive today! thanks again for sharing!
Hi Rachel and Nick, I'm new on your channel and I really enjoyed this excellent video! My wife and me are adventure hearts as well and interested in history and beautiful landscapes and things out there, I'm happy to have found your great channel. Hello from the Swiss Mountains!
@@NickandRachel Yes, I definitively enjoyed it. Yeah, I try to include historic facts in my videos as well, I like to research and find out interesting things. it's nice chatting with likeminded people. I have to check more of your videos...
Oldest State Park - I'm in. I wish history lessons when I was a kid was taught by Rachel. Usually back ground sounds are distracting, but it adds to the element in this video. Just love the sound of water. Do you guys do research while you are there or do you plan it out before going there!!! It is so smooth and informative!!!
Yeah she does a good job at memorizing all this don't see how she does it lol we do all the research before we go places and usually write out what we're going to say like a script and then we find locations to shoot. Thanks for watching 🙂
@@NickandRachel I like to have the surprised and first reaction shots. So I generally don’t do too much research. It is a trade off. You guys do great.

@@NickandRachel The smart way to do it. Unlike me who looks it up at the scene or add it in post production.
