The state park is located off I-75 and is about an hour south of Atlanta and 20 minutes north of Macon. Jerry!!!! Oh wow! I can't remember where I know you from but when I saw your face and heard your voice I smiled. I think Decatur, Ga.
    You were always kind.

      Thanks so much for the kind words. Joan and I lived in Marietta in the 80's through early 90's. I also worked in the telecom for a long time. Also spent some time around Emory and CDC. I'm sure our paths crossed somewhere around metro Atlanta.

      First mention I'd seed of the amusement park there. I was a child at that amusement park, one of my earliest childhood memories; my Daddy made an 8mm movie of it, very early 1960s, probably 61 or 62.

    Always a joy to see what you share! I’d like to camp overlooking that lake. Victoria Bryant State Park, Franklin Springs, Ga. has a large creek running through it but no sulfur smell. You’re also near, Slow Water, (in season) -outfitters that help you float down a branch of the Broad River that is calm and easy. Very near town for food, etc. Watson Mill State Park, Comer Ga. is known for its wooden covered bridge and beautiful shoals- & most photographed spot in Ga. -Nice camping-

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  3 роки тому +1

      If you don’t mind zig zagging a bit, start at Cloudland Canyon near Chattanooga. Next would be High Falls by the river or this one. They are 8 miles apart. Then depends on the route. If I-16 at Macon to I95, go to Little Ocmulgee in McRae, the on to Skidaway Island next to Savannah. If, I-75 at Macon, visit Veterans in Cordele. All these had spots that fit our 40ft 5th wheel and dually.

    • @deannrosp
      @deannrosp 3 роки тому

      @@iLoveRVlife thanks, I like your suggestions. Last March (just as the pandemic was hitting) we camped at Cloudland. It was magnificent and hubby wants to go back, so I think we will do that one. We also did Skidaway last February (I remember being there Super Bowl night). We used it as our base for visiting Savanna but didn’t get enough time to hike the trails, so we might do that one again too. Btw, which park is the one they call “little Grand Canyon” and is there camping there?

    Hi Jerry, I notice you referenced going to Reserve America rather than directing people to GeorgiaStateparks.org. Is that the trick to getting a better chance at securing a spot?
    Side note, we are camping at High Falls in a couple of days for the 4th or 5th time. First time in a pop up though. We've explored Indian Springs before. But, we've never camped there. Starting to think we should change our reservations to Indian Springs. Which one is your favorite of the two?

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  3 роки тому

      Hi Courtney. When you click on the link to make a reservation for a Georgia State Park, you’ll see the link takes you to Reserve America. The State Parks are very popular and you’ll need to book early. We’ve finding this true for other states. Have a great time at High Falls. They are both favorites, different in what they offer. If you have a good spot reserved, you may want to hold on to it.

    • @courtneyoneal8845
      @courtneyoneal8845 3 роки тому

      @@iLoveRVlife Yes, camping has been on the upward trend in popularity in the last 4 yrs and the pandemic has increased it exponentially. Gone are the days of being able to check the weekend weather forecast on a Wednesday, booking a campsite on Thursday and heading out on a Frisay. It was harder to book a campsite than it was to reserve a vaccine appointment!

    • @courtneyoneal8845

      Side note: I really appreciate it when you cover details about the level of difficulty in getting into the campground. Keep it up! There are some campgrounds in the mountains we want to stay at but don't know if we are able to brave the drive into the parks while towing a pop up. Ex: Vogel, Fort Mountain and Black Rock. I appreciate your childlike wonder you show with every review. Are there any parks you aren't in a hurry to get back to? Thanks again.

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  3 роки тому

      Those are tight parks. With a 40 foot 5th wheel we have to do a little extra research for fit. We’ve only gotten burnt once ,but we made a decision when we started the channel to not do negative reviews. If we didn’t like it we just move on down the road. Have a few favorites - Ocean Grove, Cloudland Canyon, Skidaway, Catherine’s Landing, Leisure Acres, Two Rivers.
