    Great video. The CB radio is a fine compliment to the jamboree.

      Its cause his front driveshaft kept falling apart at the slip joint, so we ratchet strapped the front axle to the frame so it wouldnt droop lol. and its soa and I dont think he has a traction bar.

    I have to wonder how much of a difference some of the extra difficult sections would be if the passenger hopped out? Try it a second time, minus the three hundred lbs.?

      @@markthomas4083 well my passenger is 100 lbs and she gets out on all the obstacles anyway lol. Video is 3 years old so it’s a little late to try again.

    Wet trail doesn't help, front locker from Santa would be nice. Keep driving like it is, until winter. Play around with tire pressure. That's a nice looking park. Careful of poison oak. Doing good so far, I like it.

      Next time out im dropping to 4-5 psi and if that holds up ill try 2. double beadlocks after all, I just wanted to ease my way down to see what works

      @@FlawedOffroad yup, just play with adjustments for now. Do you have room to add 2 50 pound bags of sand to the front bumper for weight? Down force on front end might make for better traction. Take em off when you don't need em. Go find a truck scale, weigh front axle, then back axle, then both. Help to make adjustments to weight distribution. Have fun and be safe.

    I think I heard you mention you have a Detroit Trutrac in the front, and I believe you said you wanted to lock it up instead... but how happy have you been in general with the trutrac? I will be in snow a fair bit, so I feel the trutrac will be a better option up front for me, then locking it. I have an OX in the rear already.

      I later realized it was a yukon sure grip or duragrip I can never remember the same but its a limited slip thats not as good as a truetrac. its better than open diffs and im sure its great in the snow. I dont drive mine in winter really. but with my 154lb each tire/wheel combo it doesnt grab as much as I want. they are better on smaller tires

    Have you done any upgrades to your brake booster or master cylinder

    • @FlawedOffroad
      @FlawedOffroad  3 роки тому

      Yes I have, in fact I touched on it in this video, I tried alot of combinations if you look through my axle swap playlist as well. ua-cam.com/video/8BCucWq_W5c/v-deo.html

      I had the double booster at first and tried a few different masters, I settled on this kit from RT offroad that made all the difference. the brakes are all 3/4 ton GM brakes, 4 wheel disc

    Good stuff Dan. My app says it is a 17 hour drive to SMORR. At today's gas prices my truck charges me about $28 per hour driving. That is almost $500 each way. Maybe prices will go down before next year's Adequate Adventure.

      holy cow that thing is thirsty! 454 with the wrong gears for towing or something? haha

    • @FlawedOffroad
      @FlawedOffroad  3 роки тому

      I dont have a per hour breakdown but my 5.3 silverado that I put 4.56 in to help with towing gets 10-12 mpg while towing jeep depending on hills and wind. thats doing 70-75 when I can

      Also we dont go to the same place every year. last 3 were smorr, black hills, and iron range minnesota and 3-4 times to colorado

      @@FlawedOffroad my 454 gets 7mpg as long as I stay under 60mph. It drops down to 4 mpg if I go 70. I'm working on getting my LS swap going.

    I definitely see how axles break now. Down here in Florida everything is soft flat n muddy.
