3 women sentenced for their role in covering up murder of Katie Simpson

- Three women who admitted helping evil Jonathan Cresswell cover up details around the death of showjumper Katie Simpson were handed down suspended prison sentences today.
Hayley Robb, Jill Robinson and Rose De Montmorency Wright each believed that Katie had taken her own life and had not been murdered when they helped Cresswell wash his clothing and hide the fact he had assaulted the 21-year-old in the hours before her death.
At Derry Magistrates Court journalist Ciaran O’Neill watched as the three women were sentenced for their roles in the secret pact around her death and as her mother’s victim impact statement revealed that Cresswell had sat at her hospital bedside as she died.
Nicola speaks to Ciaran about the sentencing, the reaction of the Simpson family and the remarks of the Judge about the controlling and predatory Cresswell.

I'm so very sorry for Katie and for all who love her. I'm baffled by the control Cresswell had over these women. It was such a totally bizarre situation.
It was over a decade between Cresswell violently assaulting his ex girlfriend Abigail and him r*ping and killing Katie. I feel fairly certain he harmed other people in that time, perhaps including some of the women who were sentenced today.
I'm interested that a fourth person was investigated but not prosecuted but realise this information won't be released.
I wish there had been proper justice for Katie. May she RIP.

What a sad world we live in. A parent never get over the loss of their child, no matter how old they get, they are still your baby, it's bad enough to loose them in sickness or accident, murder could never be justified by any sentence. RIP Katie. God Bless her mother the strenght to go on without her. ❤

@@sobraine123 he wasn't married to anyone, he was in relationships with several women including Katie's sister, with who he had children

@@sobraine123 no problem. I'm not sure who Cresswell was in an official relationship with out of all these women tbh. His relationship with Katie was definitely not official, though.
