I thought it only needed a paint job and then I spent 30 seconds looking at it . Been there myself with a landcruiser , so excited to get a cheap landcruiser , and told not rust turn up and it was as rusty as this car well maybe not quite , was under the weather that day , ended up buying it and ended up selling it a few painful month later for a loss of over 2/3 its value , o well that's the price you pay when you love cars .
What crap are you talking? Right dipshit there are 14 billion people on the planet, none of them might think that if they out a car in storage when it was 8 years old that it might be in good condition 30 years later? Nobody? Stfu.
When you see a thing of beauty like this 911 you think how can it rust like, like an old pick up or something. Those bits of bad welds and the rusty bits like off an old ship. Criminal, you'd think nature would show more respect.
Nothing that a bit of hard work and paint will sort out. Why would you part a car like this out, it just needs someone to see the potential and put the hard work in to restore it....not turn it into a chequebook restoration
JayinMI I will never do dustless or any sand blasting on a full car again. No you have 48 hours to put it into primer. The problem is after 2 years I replaced a lot of panels on the car and still finding tons of blasting media in areas.
@@RustyRatchetGarage Always seemed like a necessary evil with Dustless/sand/media blasting. I know some places can acid dip cars, but those aren't nearly as easy to find/or as plentiful. I don't know what the price difference would be like. I'd love to do an early-ish 911 someday, but holy crap the parts prices are ridiculous. I came over here from Budget Buildz, btw.
JayinMI thanks for stopping by yeah prices are insane the 74 I’m doing is going to be a 2 and a half year job. Just buy parts little by little, it might take 4 or 5 year’s to get done but worth it. Easy stuff to learn just practice
@@RustyRatchetGarage My current project is an '89 S10 pickup, and I bought a cab so I wouldn't have to do rust repair, but after I got into it, it was pretty bad. I've had to replace inner and outer rockers, lower a pillar supports inner kick panels and lower firewall on the driver's side. I had to make everything except the outer rockers. But parts were cheap. A lot of the little parts are (not exactly) reasonable for the 911, but doable, but some of the bigger stuff is crazy. $2600 for fenders, $2800 for a roof skin (aftermarket), Ouch!
must be a tedious job to recover all the gunk removed from that car, 'cos I'm sure it was disposed in a environmental safe way. This is so not cool....
Thanks for sharing this informative and interesting video
Saving a classic
I like your hard work and subscribe your channel
Nice work...
Thank you so much
Awesome work mate you're doing a great job saving the Porsche and what a beautiful colour .
Looking forward to seeing more.
No one on this planet thinks fixing a car that old that’s been marinating in sea air will only need “a quick paint job”. Nobody.
Dr. Mr. Prof. Lnghr well I have to say their is ONE.

I wouldn’t have even hit the brakes if I saw it setting for sale

Wow, well worth saving. Wont be easy
Here in CT we would call that a " Parts Car " Poor old Porsche :(
And, a checkbook restoration looking for a place to happen.

when a restoration turns into a rebuild......
Nice project, this will take you a lot of time....
And even more money.
Good job but music is annoying !!
Turn the sound off then you plonka
very very annoying
Yes UA-cam music sucks. I’m going to be redoing this video soon
Congrats! Quite a feat! I’m attacking a similar level project at the moment.

Makes me want to give our rust free 85 a big hug !!!😄😄😄😄😄🍺🍺🍺🍺
I keep seeing people doing dustless blasting, and all I keep thinking is bare metal and water don't mix. Did you have any flash rusting problems?

@@RustyRatchetGarage How would you strip it next time if you had to do it over? Love the color and the fact it's a real Carrera!
Wow
Fuck it drive it like it is.
The value of the vehicle falls with every inch of original sheet metal removed.
Clearly someone had more money than sense.
na dann viel spass mit der karosse, aus den sümpfen floridas!!!!!!
Love that generation of 911 but in red with a black whale tail. :-). Lime / avocado green Just isn’t a proper Porsche color. Lol lol

Just a FYI look up dustless blasting. 100% environmental safe.
When it comes time to sell this car you’ll wished you didn’t make this video. Some things are better left un videoed
i have to agreed!!
