- In this week's addition to the tome of knowledge, we are examining my approach to brush control, featuring the Bird Knight! Hot on the heels of my recent weekend course, I was inspired to make this. Enjoy!

These are the most relaxing painting videos on youtube, like guided meditation
Haha, all about those viiibes. Far out, man 🍃
Another one?? Your blending tutorials are probably the best around youtube! :D
THe yellow paint in the black plastic card is a reaaaally good way of showing us how to do it!
However, the part of you applying the yellow on the miniature was veeeery difficult to see on the video. The transitions are not really clear, probably because it is such a bright color. Unfortunate.
But I'll be coming back to this video and definitely getting some plastic card to practice technique on!
Thank you Master!
Thanks, cheers!
I think you are my favorite mini painter. Your style is clearly influenced by Frazetta and sword and sorcery. It's gorgeous. Thank you.
I'm honored, thank you! That era of art and in particular, Frazetta, found me at an early age.
Great video, all theses tips are so much easier to take in than others who throw everything at you, thanks for sharing. Can't wait for the next one.
Glad it was helpful!
I have a really great blending technique. It involves a Cuisinart, some ice, lime juice, Angostura bitters, and tequila
Perhaps a video about saturation?
Check out my light and shadow video! Also, yes, I'll expand on that :)
I do not normally leave comments but I felt I had to say how helpful this video was. The camera angle and your description and teaching style was the most effective I've ever seen on UA-cam. Thank you for this video it has helped me with motivation issues I've had with my painting
Only the boldest painters will add their Skeleton Bone to a leathery butt, but you pulled it off without a hitch!
In all seriousness though, awesome video. I loved the plasticard demo!
Haha, only the bold! Glad you enjoyed it!
It's really useful seeing the techniques isolated on a card-- great video!
Great video Sam! I love how accessible you make the technique feel.
Nice and simple :) Thanks, man!
Thank you Sam! Appreciate the insights and your time to make and share.
Glad it was helpful!
Great explanation. I also like that you show that you don't necessarily need to use a tiny brush. I think people make painting harder on themselves because they use too small of a brush.
super video, but the title took al my attention because of the inverted "U" and "Q" of "TECHNIQUES" 😂
An actual painting tutorial with a focused style instead of "I used the slap-chop method, all done!"
Thanks a lot for sharing. Perfect length, perfect amount of information. ❤
Sam, love your videos! I’ve been painting for about 8 years. I’m really hit and miss on selling the nmn effect on curved surfaces….like a scythe or an axe or large armor pieces. I think my light placement is off or the distribution isn’t right. Can you do a deep dive on this subject?
My blends are good and I have the contrast there. I even do pretty good edge highlights and I distribute small volumes of dents with edge highlights to help with mind confusion. The effect just isn’t there.
I can do swords and straight surfaces pretty convincingly….but curves are a pain. Please help.
Check out out my video, Advanced NMM for some insight. It's built on observation and listening to what the light is telling you. Cheers!
@@SamLenzArtwork Thanks Sam!
Id love to see an updated video of you wet blending basecoats. like you did way back in the wgc days. I still reference that video to this day!
Oh dude , that opening shot is from the house on the rock , right? Love that place!
Truly educational dude, nice one
Much appreciated!
I really enjoyed this video
Hell yes. New Lenz!
Yeaaaah budday!
cool, mahalo from oahu
Mahalo!
Nice painting ✨✨
great video!
Cool Sam, thanks!
Cool.
I have got too good at licking my brush...
Achievement unlocked!
Miniac would disagree. Paint is his 4th meal.
Your blending videos inspired my first forays into actually creative techniques beyond just color inside lines and citadel shade and drybrush. Thanks for continuing to inspire pushing our artistic development through the years.
