She-Hulk having three times the budget of the best GoT seasons is NUTS. That has to be some kind of money laundering scheme right? Aint no way they paid that much for such horrendous effects, actors and writers. Somebody embesseled tens of millions. It cost almost as much AS THE ENTIRE LOTR TRILOGY. I really liked it, very true to the comic, and for those who have issues with Strong Female lead - well what did you expect it's She Hulk - big big clue in the name. However from a commercial point of you, doing a TV series with your main character being fully CGI while a brave choice is a dumb one in cost grounds. Should have either done a movie, or an animated series. and as for those who come out with absolutists comments about it being worst show ever - didn't you see Secret Invasion 😂
Disney changing direction may be one thing, having the staff with the abilities is completely another thing. They have far too many "woke" people they have hired over the last decade who have no idea what a "good story" is if it hit them in the head.
Even if Disney does some changes The problem for them now is that the fans that have trusted them for years have been dissipated So Disney gaining their fans trust is gunno be a long trial for them
At least as many ''good'' shows and movies as the bad ones. So maybe 10-15 years to gain the trust back, to the stage I am willing to pay to go see one of their films. And to emphasis that point, went recently to see Dune part 2 - first time in cinema in easily 10 years (exception Oppenheimer - what a fucking film - awesome wasn't missing that one) - as for Dune 2 - well again fucking awesome film, and looking at going again - 1 because I enjoyed the film that much, 2 to show support to a damn good film.
The message isn't the problem. The problem is Disney hiring nothing but people whose entire realm of experience and expertise is in the message, to perform tasks they are completely unequipped and unprepared for.
The message is the problem. Sending a message is ok, but "The Message" from the woke is a bunch of disconnected based on fraudulent research ideas that contradicts itself.
Anyone who knows entertainment or finance knows that's nonsense. Studies proved the opposite, you only hear these silly narratives on social media cause in the real world they're not tolerated.

A lot more than two years for me. As soon as I stupidly went to see Captain marvel (thinking it had some relevance) I realised how things were going to go to shit and decided then to not go and see anything else Disney ever regurgitated apart from 'Endgame'. My worries were confirmed in that now disgustingly infamous scene during the final battle - you all know the one I'm talking about. And I stuck to it, not only by not paying to watch anything, but by never watching it in any form be it downloading or streaming. To this day I've seen only five things in the cinema, Maverick, MI - Dead reckoning, Oppenheimer and Dune parts one and two. I have never seen any of the not-Star Wars shit, or any of the series put out by Disney. And thanks to certain people on YT who suffer the shit for the rest of us, I've never seen any of the crap from other film studios, TV studios and places like Amazon and Netflix, only ever watching The Tomorrow War, The Terminal List and Reacher. My memories of 'real' entertainment are not sullied by anything other than hearing about the monstrosities that've been released from the aforementioned YT reviewers. I am 64 tears of age and have amassed a huge library which will keep me entertained for the rest of my life - I do not need these woke pricks cancerous so-called entertainment releases brought into my house. Nothing they do will ever make me go back and trust them, the cancer has spread so far it is now turned deadly, in games, comics and film, Racists, misandrists, toxic femininity and pure jealousy and vindictiveness have destroyed it all.
Quite the opposite. I think a whole lot of us don't want disney to "get back on track", we want them to cease to exist. 100 years of terrible people programs and history...I think it's about time they left the playing field.
What bothers me is that people like Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy will leave the company in ruins as millionaires. They should be held financially responsible for their failures by the people that they have harmed, unless they were just doing what they were told. The art of film making has become a corporate manufacturing business.
too obvious, took to long, lasted too long. 15 years of insults will take a long time to forgive, we will never forget. news, mags, comics, gaming, movies, tv and at work.

I don't know about ratings spiking for the Oscars this year when it still came in as the 4th lowest ratings this millennium. 19.5 million is a far cry from 46.3 million they had in 2000. Hollywood has completely lost the younger audience who are all moving into their 20s and have absolutely no interest in going to the theaters. This trend will continue with their kids.
I truly hope this is only the beginning because firing that incompetent lady is not enough to drag themselves out of the huge crater they digged by themselves
One award show where they mostly bit their tongue is no reason to start swinging on those nuts. Jimmy just couldn’t contain himself and had a trump outburst. Any change that may appear is highly calculated
Another example of how only catering to the squeaky wheel bites you in the arse in the end. Thinking that being noisy, being vociferous, is the same as being the majority, being representative is a mistake. And as you say, the production values just aren't up to scratch either.

Disney firing Beau DeMayo right before the release is highly suspect, especially since he deleted his Instagram page as well. I suspect some sort of violation on his part that caused this abrupt firing. It just doesn't make sense to do this so publicly if it wasn't, especially now.
@@Puzzoozoo Dude that was just his cover story to get hired... Now that he has been caught hiding his vajjinal interests he is Tinseltown toast! He will never work in this town again ;)
Disney has done irreparable damage to the company. Even if they did EVERYTHING perfectly from here on out, there will still be a large percentage of people who will not return, just like with Annheiser
Disney is basically on life support right now. If they don't take major action within the next year or two in five years there won't be a Disney! Even their theme parks are pricing themselves out of existence
you forget mention that massive reshoot are now norm for disney. It's hard to have smaller budget when you have to remake 1/3 of the movie from the scratch.
Paramount shouldn’t have sold the MCU to Disney. Disney has mishandled the property. Granted without Disney there wouldn’t have ownership rights to almost all Marvel characters now. But the problem isn’t that the Marvel movies are now done the modern Disney way. We were getting good movies from the Phase 1 to 3 but now the quality has gone down.
I think it's great that Bob is finally smelling the coffee and taking action. Taking these particular steps is one thing let's just hope he does the right thing about going back to good story telling. Not sure who approves each script, but they to need to be fired.
I don't think Bob can quite tell what beverage he's catching the scent of; he doesn't understand why these projects failed so i suspect any actions he may take will be futile
2:29 Dude. EVERY SINGLE movie out of Disney's history has always had "a message" behind it. A movie without a message is pointless. "A good story" ain't gonna cut it.
Star Wars has been damaged beyond repair. It will require a total overhaul with new actors, producers, directors and scripts. Everyone currently associated needs to be let go for this to work as they have all been contaminated with the current meta of terrible movie making. This goes for Marvel as well but could be easier to do if they fall back on their Netflix roots with the shows at least. The new Deadpool movie could help, or hurt, but I fear X-Men 97 will be a disaster and set the MCU even farther back.
I fear the truth is more... boring. This was just the result of a marketing calculation where they tried to "expand the audience" of their movies, by using a more diverse cast. However, they didn't understand that those other population sectors ignore action/superhero movies not because of the lack of representation, but because, in general, "using physical violence as a way to solve conflicts" is something that mostly appeals to straight men... who were the core audience of those movies and who felt alienated when the heroes they projected themselves into where replaced or even humiliated by new characters (almost always portrayed by less expensive actors).
It's so funny to me that there are people who LOVE Disney so much we have the term "Disney Adult" AND YET Disney seems to hire only people with absolute contempt for Disney products
The downfall of marvel/Star Wars is equivalent to painting a popular hammer brand pink and wondering why you lost sales, then crying that it's the customers fault for not liking it.
Does not mean a thin gas long as Kathleen Kennedy and Bob Iger remain there. That is it. Disney can fire show runners and diversity leaders but its all the same. As for the Oscars not being as arrogant and unwatchable as before? NO, they were still arrogant and unwatchable. Jimmy Kimmel is enough to make people vomit and stay away.
I hope their downfall continues, they have abused the fan base for "The Message", exhausted/destroyed IP's, and have lost talented filmmakers. Creatively bankrupt why shouldn't it fail?
The other big problem with Disney movies' budgets exploding is the endless rewrites and reshoots they're doing over and over and over again because "The messaging wasn't quite right" or some other reason.
I agree, the messaging isn't the only issue with Disney and other major studios. The real issue is the reason said messaging exists: their employees. You see, Disney and the rest of Hollywood fired most of their competent *cough* white men *cough* personnel and instead hired new employees that ticked the various DEI boxes regardless of their actual talent. So the reason Disney movies have horrible writing is because their writers simply can't write to save their life, however they are black, queer, a quarter Navajo, non binary people so that means they should have gotten their job as writers for the biggest Hollywood studios. The same goes for other roles like directors, producers, etc, which is why those movies also look like crap and the actors seem utterly clueless and directionless, because quite simply they received 0 direction from the people who were supposed to give it to them, you know the directors...
It seems unbelievable that 10 years of fantastic MCU movies was followed by such a nose dive in quality. If they'd just carried on with the same quality they could have had another 10 years of solid profit.
Thing is: the theme parks was what allowed Disney to ignore the performance of the movies for the sake of messaging. The theme parks always made money. If Disney had a down year with movies, they could just charge a little more for the Fastpass. Charge a bit more for the entrance fees, or drinks. Eliminate the food voucher deals. Charge more for parking. Little things like that. That used to make up the difference. But with the arrival of Universal's Nintendoland, and other expansions, the revelation that Disney hasn't been maintaining the parks (look at the condition of that monorail. You couldn't pay me to get on that disaster), and all of the fights happening in Disneyland and Disney world, their themeparks are now starting to lose steam.
Must be a bad time, on the on hand wokeness has lead to a decreasing revenue stream, on the other hand getting rid of wokeness means that your are not getting cheap ESG money anymore.
We need writers who care about the source material and actually developing characters not making them a shell of their former selves or making them unbearable to watch...
I wouldn't be surprised if all that is happening to Disney now will make the company cease to exist in the Future. There's just no way for them to come back after everything they've ruined. Fans and Families have all turned on them and I don't know if they can get that trust back even if they get new management.
Formulaic plots are not the problem. WOKE is the problem. They no longer produce Hero's Journey formulas. That is what the audience wants to see. They are firing their productive workers and hiring more DEI welfare employees, each of which does damage to their operation, which is the nature of DEI.
The problem is not diversity. The problem is bad writing and gas lighting. I like strong female characters, I don't like bad written characters whatever the gender or skin color for that matter. I am a leftist, well I am just not from the US, I don't mind wokeness, but I don't like bad written movies. And I don't like to be gaslighted.
To be fair, what the hell is a 'diversity leader' supposed to do other than suggest more diversity? Diversity Leader - "Hey, lets make another Spider-Man movie." Exec - "Should we change the gender or race of the Spider-Person." Diversity Leader - "Hell no. Peter Parker. White and a dude." Exec - "Uh.. OK? What about the supporting cast?" Diversity Leader - "Yeah, put the Punisher and Daredevil in it too. And Deadpool if we can swing it. And the bad guy should be Scorpion." Exec - "Uh... are we gender swapping any of th--" Diversity Leader - "I swear if you don't stop asking these stupid questions!"
Also, am I the only one who's baffled by angry fans who want Disney to 'fix' itself? Just watch something else! When Metallica started to suck in the late 90's, I didn't scream and cry about how Metallica needed to fix itself. I just stopped buying new Metallica releases, and kept listening to the old ones. Simple as that. I don't NEED any particular studio to make my movies, I just watch what looks good to me. I'm old-fashioned like that. I think the REAL message here isn't about wokeness, it's about bloated franchises. How long did Disney think an at-least-one-film-per-year-per-franchise release schedule was sustainable for, anyway? Am I the only one who think's THAT'S why they're crashing?
The motivation is not greed. They’re sitting on like likely 10,000 scripts that are better than the movie they’ve released in the past few years. They understand these movies make no money, they understand why, but they keep doing it. Knowing you’re going to lose money to push your social narrative, is not greed. It’s a kin to building the golden calf.
I dont think it necessarily takes a lot of time to make good movies, especially for Marvel. There is only a 2 year gap between Captain America 2 and 3 and those were damn good movies. I think they just need to go back to having a solid plan, cause I feel like Marvel movies and their sequals are taking too long because they don't actually know what to do with the characters and how they fit into the MCU.
Ghostbusters was completed writing and rushed to camera in 1983 on an incredibly tight window and worked out good 👍 Raiders of the Lost Ark finished shooting ten days early ahead of schedule 👍

As you mocked the other gentleman for ''you know nothing about entertainment or finance do you?'' - then I ask, what is your knowledge on the subject - rather than copy and paste from ''experts'' - which I assume is from a news article - and well, you know the thing with news outlets and the real/full truth's?
Personally, If I was the major share holder - every person who pushed this - would be fired instantly on the spot - all those that spoke against it and were fired/cancelled - re-hired, at a much higher rate. 1 quality writer is more profitable than a room full of dei pushers. So saving the salaries of 9 idiots - where the issue with paying a good writer 3 of those salaries - you still saved 6 in the long run.

Are you guys allowed to cite facts, or do they get buried cause they don't agree with your narratives?
@WaltRight it's Bob Iger not Sean
It doesn't matter who they fire. If Disney doesn't make a genuine connection with their fan base like they did in the 90's or during the early days of the MCU....... we're screwed regardless
That was made by thousands over 7 years.... what in the actual hell
Except She-Hulk is actually a decent show? Tatiana Maslany is fantastic and it's pretty funny. Plus it's a low stakes sitcom, no idea why the internet threw a tantrum about it lmao

However from a commercial point of you, doing a TV series with your main character being fully CGI while a brave choice is a dumb one in cost grounds. Should have either done a movie, or an animated series.

Ive never been so happy to see a company fail as i have with Disney the last few years. Bout time
Disney changing direction may be one thing, having the staff with the abilities is completely another thing. They have far too many "woke" people they have hired over the last decade who have no idea what a "good story" is if it hit them in the head.
Even if Disney does some changes
The problem for them now is that the fans that have trusted them for years have been dissipated
So Disney gaining their fans trust is gunno be a long trial for them
At least as many ''good'' shows and movies as the bad ones.
Similar to the way that Budwieser lost over a century of good will and can never get that back
The message isn't the problem.
WRONG! The massage IS the problem because the message is tied into the story. The DEI message is the problem and regular people are not buying into it. Pun intended.

For me it’s two years of it being consistently bad. At least when captain marvel came out we still had Spider-Man, infinity war, Endgame etc..
Paramount shouldn’t have sold the MCU to Disney. Disney has mishandled the property. Granted without Disney there wouldn’t have ownership rights to almost all Marvel characters now.
Yep 😢👍
Star war was not damaged.
There is trilogy of Star wars movies and that is all that exists
After watching this I'm confident that XMen 97 will be average at best.
So far no one knows why the director was fired.
I’m sure a lot of the modern Disney budget woes are caused by how much the stars and top creatives and executives are making. Way, way overpaid.

The downfall of marvel/Star Wars is equivalent to painting a popular hammer brand pink and wondering why you lost sales, then crying that it's the customers fault for not liking it.
Disney's policy is to see how much money they can lose.
Does not mean a thin gas long as Kathleen Kennedy and Bob Iger remain there. That is it. Disney can fire show runners and diversity leaders but its all the same. Disney needs to be humbled further before an apology from them will be accepted.
Nope, Disney is plagued.
I will celebrate when they go bankrupt as well when they are forced to sell the IP they been buying
Disney....we're going to spend $ 2 billion on films.
Also Disney..... we expect to lose €5 billion and blame the fans!!!
NOPE.
Great movie!
Everything Disney Star Wars from 2015 to now needs to be decanonized. Otherwise, just sell Lucasfilm back to George Lucas and he’ll do it instead.
Diversity isn’t the problem. The problem is making diversity more important than making a quality product

Diversity Leader - "Hey, lets make another Spider-Man movie."
Exec - "Should we change the gender or race of the Spider-Person."
Diversity Leader - "Hell no. Peter Parker. White and a dude."
Exec - "Uh.. OK? What about the supporting cast?"
Diversity Leader - "Yeah, put the Punisher and Daredevil in it too. And Deadpool if we can swing it. And the bad guy should be Scorpion."
Exec - "Uh... are we gender swapping any of th--"
Diversity Leader - "I swear if you don't stop asking these stupid questions!"
These Hollywood Execs need to learn from talented teams like the ones who made Godzilla Minus One, and District 9, and so forth.
until they fire Iger, Kennedy, and Feige the company won't get any better.
Disney killed Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, and even classic Disney itself. Somebody needs to stop them.
Am I the only one who think's THAT'S why they're crashing?
i 100% agree with you
The motivation is not greed. They’re sitting on like likely 10,000 scripts that are better than the movie they’ve released in the past few years. They understand these movies make no money, they understand why, but they keep doing it. Knowing you’re going to lose money to push your social narrative, is not greed. It’s a kin to building the golden calf.
Just as Dylan Mulvaney is a caricature of what men think women are, "woke" gives us a caricature of what women think men are.
Ghostbusters was completed writing and rushed to camera in 1983 on an incredibly tight window and worked out good 👍
