Orangutan mothers are exceptional 💕
I saw this mom and baby when I went to the zoo last week. So beautiful.
aww this brought happy tears to my eyes! I found it so interesting that grandma was helping during the labor process. A sweet story in a world of chaos.
Her bangs are kinda on point.
I thought the same😆. Mom is sporting that “Beatles” bowl cut still. Kinda looks like Lloyd Christmas.
Watching her make her straw nest is simply amazing. God loves us and spared no attention to detail while creating an amazing earth. Beauty is everywhere. Even in Orangutan hair 🦧, Butch. Butch, that is a great name!
This MADE MY DAY......Congratulations to Mama and bless her maternal heart.....what I find so interesting is how Primates show deep respect for mothers and never upset her by unwanted interactions...they leave her alone and don't stress her out. This is so important for her mental ,physical and emotional well being....a nursing mother has to feel secure calm and peaceful to produce adequate milk....this of course is true of humans...nothing lowers mild production like high stress.....we always learn from Animals....they are way more clued into Mother Nature then we have become...Best Wishes to everyone

There are 5 babies there. Obviously the adult males haven't hurt any of them. They're fine. Pretty sure this zoo knows what they're doing.
The fathers don't get involved in the wold because resources are scarce. If Dad was there, there would be less food for Mum. In a sanctuary/zoo, there is plenty of food and shelter and they are SAFE from HUMAN HUNTERS. SO then the fathers can be involved. I do wish people would be more educated before they throw accusations around. We humans are the biggest threat to orangs. If we've helped just a few of them, then that's good.

This makes me sad, what if the roles were reversed and you you were stuck in a prison like this.
This woman that is speaking is trying to make the public believe that these animals have a wonderful life. They are locked up on a cement prison against their will. This poor mother had to give birth on the cold ground with people staring at her. Would this woman who is speaking like her grandchildren to be born like that. If they cared she would have been isolated. Why are these animals being breed on captivity? Money. It is sad that humans do this because we can not because we are superior. Zoos serve no purpose but to torture these animals. They have NO quality of life. They committed no crimes. All zoos should be closed. This is a crime.
So are you against ANY type of professional assistance to preserve and care for an endangered species??
