I asked my uncle (who works for a snow-blowing company) and he said the main reason resorts use gondolas is for wind on high or long stretches and for more comfort for those who only want to eat at the restaurant at the top and may not be dressed for skiing. Incredible video as always! Your creativity, building skill, and soothing voice always make your content my favorite!!!
I think he definetly should add some shrubs at the sides, and even sometimes some rocks right into the pistes, so that people have to ride sround them...
Ruben Puertas Rey I concur, I think it’d also benefit from more cat walks and other little details, sometimes you’ll also find some little wooden buildings or structures as part of a kids course or just random stuff added for decoration
Really nice episode! Despite being tiny from a real life point of view, it's really neat. Kinda like a model. I love the layout you made with lifts and pistes, it makes sense. I think the gondola would look even better with a garage. That would also makes it half a building and really differenciate it from the chairlifts. (And as I said in another comment, I think the UNI-G for the small chairlift is a bit too much). The Alton Tower cable car is from Von Roll, it only had its cabins replaced by Sigma's Diamond later on (and a refurb by Poma, my friend told me he saw Poma and Intamin engineers at his hotel near the park when he went). Aside from Doppelmayr/Garaventa and Leitner/Poma, you have Bartholet which is really rising in Europe (and have a nice UA-cam channel), and I love their grip design. Funnily enough, they are linked with Swiss Rides. To me, my most beloved stations are Poma's Satellit, Leinter/Poma Multix, and the wooden UNI-G variation.
Don’t forget to add the stop bar on the chairlifts. I’d also suggest having a magic carpet for the beginner _beginner_ area and to begin thinking of names for the pistes/trails/slopes
This is looking amazing Silv!! What are you are you planning to do with the small slop to the right side of the gondala? Maybe that could be a beginner slope, with a small chairlift? Or, you could pit these things could a magic carpet with you stand on with your skis, and it slowly takes you up, it's a convarorbelt like system. This small series had made me want to continue to build my own ski resort using no DLC or TMTK iteams, so I'm building my own custom chairlift, gondola and T bar s. Keep up pumping out these amazing creations!!
Love this series and hope you make it as long as possible. While I am from Australia I love skiing so to see you do a ski resort in Planet Coaster is pretty cool. ... For the off piste areas you could just leave the terrain 'dimpley' - not sure of what the correct term is but often times before you do the final smoothing it looks bumpy/like dimples and is a bit greyer which would work well for off piste areas.
My "home" skiing resort in Oberstsdorf has also doppelmayr gondolas, but in a dark blue colorsheme. But I love the red one even more. Can´t wait to see how this turns out, I love skiing! Hope you go for a classic "Berghütte" and a small funpark
Really nice build, this series really gives me my share of nostalgia, since I haven't skied in years. Enjoy your trip! Although from my memory gondolas get whole buildings (often raw concrete, at least on the inside) instead of just a simple open station like chairlifts have. One thing I'm not sure if I like are the ski cannons in the middle of the piste. Don't remember seeing many - usually they're just on the side or where they split if they do.
I do like fixed grip chairlifts when it's sunny :D . Your ski resort needs a garage for the snowplows ! ;) And if there are snowguns, there is a snowfactory too. Anyway, it looks great !
Ha, love it! The Leitner/Poma vs Doppelmayr discussion is kinda like Intamin vs B&M, both have pros and cons. Beautiful work either way! If you wanna check out some public transport skyways, i suggest you check out the one in Berlin, probably the flattest city to have one :D Also Europa Park was planning one from their park over the border to france, but i think that project is on ice for now.
I'm by no means an expert but I've never seen such a uni-g station design on a gondola ski lift. I've only ever seen them on chair lifts. Usually gondolas start and end in a bigger building, where they also tend to have their general ticket office and everything. But maybe I just haven't been to the same resorts as you have. It looks awesome though. I think you really nailed the look of it.
I can see where you're coming from, I hadn't seen it much either until I went to a bunch of big modernized resorts a few years ago - I remember seeing outdoor UNI-G gondola stations, e.g. if I remember correctly around Scheffau, Kitzbühel, etc. But I hope to attach some more traditional buildings to the bare UNI-G station later, it doesn't even have an operator booth at the moment.
@Silvarret Here in the US we have Leitner-Poma and Doppelmayr. Have you seen the older Doppelmayr stations? Look up Peru Express at keystone in colorado, this is made by Doppelmayr. Also look up imperial express superchair at breckenridge in colorado, this one’s made by Poma.
Hi I’m Form Germany and I’ve been skiing every year to. I love to ski! But it’s disconcerting seeing how the temperature is rising On this planet🤯 An nice Video!
Tip for the TMTK supports on the towers, you can select a individual station and build off it, then use the F snap tool to get the supports perfectly aligned.
didnt went skiing for like 5 Years now. Before that time I went every year skiing for 15 years. Because of your videos I now booked a holiday in Austria ^^
Darn! I was bummed out to find that they didn’t add a ski path to the game with the lift and gondola. That would be so sweet! I started building a little ski town with a few rides only to find that once the Cims are up there, there is little for them to do. Nice build, though.
Perhaps a Bobsled ... as a Luge Run ? for upcoming olympic hopefuls :) ... It's a resort I'd like to ski .. Great job recreating the stations and pole details ! Cheers !
The skyway in Alton Towers didnt used to have gondalas on it, it had ski lift chairs. It was changed sometime in the 80s as it had a lot of restrictions on who could ride aswell as them not being too safe with the very high and un-supported course they took over to the area that Rita and Th13teen currently sit.
I really like this series (not that I don't like your other series) It's very calming and I learn stuff I would have never guessed. The only time I went on a skiing vacation was when I was 5 or something xD
This is super cool! I'd be interested to see if you could create some different styles of trails as you progress. Maybe some chutes with rocks, glades, moguls, etc!
I think that the last skilift should've been one with those conveyor belds at the bottom station. And maybe a nice house around atleast the lower station, just for the variety. But maybe I might be biased just because I like their old school laid back style.
T- Bar-Lifts, or as we call them here in Germany „Anchor-Lifts“ are the only Lifts we have in my area! As you grow up with them most people tend to get quite confident and start to have a bit of fun on the way up (if you know you know)😅 Also, please do yourself a favor and try a lil‘ game called „When Ski Lifts Go Wrong“ i think you‘d love it :)
it would be nice with a really long and easy pist that hugs the side of the mountain, going kind of outside of the other pists. we have a couple of those at a ski resort not long from me, they are really calming and relaxing
I know that in some countries, like here in Sweden, we got green slopes as well. They’re kind of like the blue slopes but often wider and shorter or just less steep. Edit: not a chairlift enthusiast, but I find some gondolas (Leitner I think) not working well with twin tips. You first have to separate them before you put them down, which you can’t do if there’s a snowboard not properly stowed in. I’ve had a couple of close calls both as a skier and snowboarder.
You should add more rocks and other forms of natural details but also more fences and similar things since these places tends to focus on skier safety a lot, also a snowcat garage and maybe some smaller hotel/restaurant facility down at the bottom? Otherwise it looks great so far!
Hey Silvarett! I love the series so far, and I’m excited for the upcoming episodes, and I know this is a smaller resort but are you going to do anything bigger in the future?
make a t-bar! and signs that show what trail the people are going to :) also put some double-blacks somewhere around a huge cliff or dive! (lol i ski on double blacks) last thing: put those orange fences at the side of trails when there's a cliff out there but if its flat and the ski boundary is flat and looks safe to wander into, dont put and fence.
When you have enough Space at one of your hills, you can add a Cross- and or a Fun-Park, that would be awsome 😍 I like your Building style! Its look verry simmilar to the Real Dobelmayr that they build here in Europa.
Silv you do know that you can switch between the raise and lower terrain by holding Ctrl, dont you? Becuase your alway switching manually by clicking the button. :D
16:45 The last video I mentioned my local mountain had 3 "Dopples" as I call them. But it also has 2 Pomas (It WAS 3 but one shut down a couple years ago)
You should add a small restaurant 😋 Maybe something like a Swiss chalet could fit too. Please add a hard, steep black slope (70% 😏) for me and my dad to use 😇
Personally i wouldve kept one of the chairlifts a bit blank station wise, like just a wooden operator booth or something, with no cover on the station itself, as one of the older lifts, but im sure that is what you will do to the T-Bars, quite excited to see how you will make those quite horrible things. I really want to start a small ski resort now as well, lol Dont forget the red fences, slow down signs, and queues for the ski lifts! I assume that you won't make them functional?
Yeah, i wouldve kept it blank like other old ski lifts. Its fine for the gondola because thats a newer model as well, but the ingame chairlifts are pretty old models i think
@@sheeple04 Actually the in-game chairlifts are just a mix of everything lol. Their station design is pretty old (and not realistic per say, because they mix non-detachable and detachable design), but the chairs are relatively recent, and are from Doppelmayr. I also get that people don't like to leave in-game stuff bland, but in this case it's really well modeled. If only he could do a Poma Alpha station... :D
I have to be honest, you also have to factor in that I'm trying to make the series as short as I can, and I'd love to move from stations to building a t-bar lift, après-ski hut or mountain restaurant :D but perhaps I'll overhaul the chairlift later, I'll look into the poma stations when I'm back home :)
@@KingRCT3 Oh lol, those Poma Alpa station look weeeirrdd Its like they wanted a sort of Uni-G but when they saw that they didnt need to build a huge thing for the mechanics they just placed a box on top of it in the Uni-G style

It would be really funny if you did a really small and flat piste at the bottom of the hill for the small children with a magic carpet skilift. We call it "idiotehögel" in swiss german. So it kinda just means hill for idiots lol.
You need those red net fences at the side of the slope and the "slow"-signs at the stations to make it even more realistic
I know it is kinda randomly asking but do anyone know a good website to watch new movies online ?
I asked my uncle (who works for a snow-blowing company) and he said the main reason resorts use gondolas is for wind on high or long stretches and for more comfort for those who only want to eat at the restaurant at the top and may not be dressed for skiing.

This is so cool and original I actually really love this new series
Could you make a small training camp for skiing with like the conveyer belts at the bottom of the hill
As a park rider myself, it would be really interesting to see how you would tacle making jumps, rails etc. :)
I feel a lack of rocks, fences, and other elements besides trees :( but it looks gorgeous

Ivo OOODR Your right!
Silvarret You NEED to build a fun park 😌😌😌
Because it is VERY FUN!!!!🤣🤣🤣🙃
Needs some rocks and rocky outcrops. Some areas where the snow doesn't gather as smoothly.
Use the 4 metre and autocomplete technique on the mountain and you should get smooth results.
Worked for me
Lmao, good one
you should add a alpine coaster! I think it could turn out pretty cool!
