Thank you for the amazing assets! I hope I'm doing them justice, just seeing them so underutilized on the Steam Workshop partly helped convince me to do this series.
@@Silvarret Yes you're totally making them justice ! Actually I couldn't think of a better way to show them to other people haha. I'm just having a suggestion : have you planned to make some skilift (the lift with a pole between our legs) in your station ? If yes that would be super cool because I made a set (that you already downloaded) to make a skilift ! Thanks !
By then, this planet coaster ski resort will be the best way to experience any form of skiiing (Global warming will melt all other games with skiing in them. Planet coaster survives because all objects are scaled so large that when they start to melt they just become human scale)
You really have to add one of these round tent hut things with a bar inside that only plays awfully bad Schlager music. Just generally like aprés ski options and you could do a Jägerhorn crossover with a swiss chalet restaurant on the mountaintop or somewhere nestled inbetween the pistes. (if you'd do that you could/should/might also recreate one of those small lifts that are only there to bring stuff to a remote restaurant/building that doesn't have any access to roads.) Btw is your obsession with skiing the reason why you like Swiss chalet architecture?
Great and informative video! The paths through the forest you mention are quite common in europe. In a lot of ski resorts you'll find what's called "Talabfahrt" in german where you can ski to the base station without having to use a cablecar to get down.
This series will be super interesting for me as Ive never skied in my life and have seen snow really only once. Its a thing I dont know much so this is cool to just learn more about.
Totally get it, skilifts are awesome pieces of tech! It's on my to-do list to make one in scale (1:10 or so) but for now its a bit too much work. nice build by the way!
I think this is the first time that someone tries to make a realistic chairlift! I will start working for Garaventa, which is another big cable car manufacturer that has built mainly gondolas 🚠 all over the world.
It’s incredible to see how amazing builds can get in this game with the amount of skill that you have! What you build looks great and it is so detailed, but could you please finish your projects before starting new ones?😅. Jaggerhorn is my favourite one and it has been 2 years since you started it and it’s you have made 14 parts. Also, I didn’t realize you were Dutch! That’s so cool!
Yes, this is amazing!!! Love the series... I love skiing, lol Also I heard you call ghem piests (dunno if I spelled it correctly) but I call them slopes, ocassionaly runs... I am European btw... This is gonna be the best series! :)
My emotions are splitted between "Yay, a new Silvarret video !!" and "Fak, i will be dead when Jägerhorn will be finished" xD But nice video by the way, as usual, and very cool idea !!
I definitely wasn't Mazzer, but I used their CTRs. I just made CSO pieces for the pillars and station and a CTR that put Mazzer's car on invisible dark ride track to make a 3 tile wide cable car out of it.
Wow!!this is so cool, I think you should make a terrain park with jumps and rails close to the bottom of one of the mountains. Also you should try to make some cafe's by the tips of the charlifts and also some stoped or resorts down at the bottom of the mountains. Maybe you could make a small moguel run with like a 10%intensity and 1% size? Can't wait to see how this comes out to look like!!
It's not a real alpine ski resort without skibars blasting terrible music. Especially Austrian, with their affinity for Schlagers. Joking aside, this is amazing and very nostalgic to me, having skied a lot in my childhood. I remember there were some ski resort tycoons back in the day, but I never really played them and they were 2D - at least the ones I remember. Would be nice to get a new one, even if it didn't have the scope/polish of Planet Coaster. And wonder if it would be possible to mod in a groomed snow texture? Oh, and one more thing since I took a look at Cebism's workshop items and saw they're there: you need safety nets - at least on the top station, at the chair entry/exit and some fencing around both of them. The latter probably more obvious.
@@azertycraftgaming Oh there are communities, like funivie.org or remontees-mecaniques.net. But those are respectively in italian and french. The second one has amazing report on about any ski lift in operation and they are awesome, I wish we'd had the same for coasters!
Silvarret Very great inspiration would be the ˋIceQ Sölden‘, featured in the James Bond Movie Spectre - its very modern and you still get the enviroment as well as great skilift inspiration :D
I grew up in the Austrian Alps and started skiing when I was three years old, so this is great! One thing that is missing from the Doppelmayr lift are the numbers on the pillars. Otherwise this looks amazing. Looking forward to the rest of this project.
I'm sure what Silvarret really meant by "always wanting to build a ski resort" was "I have long dreamed of a land where everything is alpine and the people made of stucco, with little wooden beams"
I‘m such a huge fan of doppelmayr cable cars and skilifts, I always wished there would be a game where you can build a large realistic skiresort like ischgl or saalbach:D you really nailed it, love the series already:) My favourite station design is, idk how its called but you can find it at the Turm 6er, Sonnenbahn b5 and so on:D
Jarhead.official A lot of European ski resorts are huge, spread out affairs with tens or hundreds of Km of connected trails. A typical NA resort in the east might have three or five lifts on 300 acres or less, on one face of a relatively small mountain. Out west they are somewhat bigger.
It's always cool to see someone with a similar interest in ski lifts, not an interest many people share. I have felt a lot of the exact same things about the unrealistic planet coaster chairlifts, really wish Planet Coaster would have done something a little more realistic for those. Great build!
Great job! I absolutely love skiing and this series is really interesting to me... my only critique is that the boxy shape and flat roof of the chairlift station would have a large build-up of snow on top, which could be undesirable. Sloping the sides just a little bit would be very helpful with realism. Keep up the good work - I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!
You'd think that would be an issue, but the ski lifts at my local resort all have flat roofs. And all but the oldest one (which is due to be replaced next year) is a Doppelmayr chairlift. Quite old ones, since I remember most of the same lifts being there 20+ years ago. But still. But, same general design as Silvarret's ones, and flat roofs. (though you could argue that there's angled roof sections along the edges, the bulk of it is flat) Of course, owing to both age and local construction habits, the roofs mostly consist of corrugated iron roofing. Though the upper terminals tend to have different designs to the lower terminals overall.
I love it already! Once again you nailed the feel and look of it. So it's only in France that we have green pistes? (it goes green, blue, red and black for us) The classification of a piste is both the average slope and the maximum, as well as the width sometimes (and the superelevation eventually). In the end, the classification of a piste depends of its difficulty (duh), so it's arbitrary. You might want to add bumps on the black pistes! In France at least, I know the poles delimiting the pistes on the right have an orange top, so by seeing a single post you know whenever the piste is on its left or on its right. It seems silly but it's handy when there's thick fog. Are you going to put snow under the chairlif stations? I think it'll look better than having a platform.
No, there's green pistes in Bulgaria & most European resorts I think, 🤔 tho only def sure on the Bulgarian ones as went to Borovets for Xmas last year!x 😊
Yeah I have to admit, everything is based on my own experience in Austria. The green beginner slopes aren't really a thing where I've been. The moguls on black pistes are a good idea, I'd love to see if it's doable in the game. And yeah, I want to put snow underneath the stations too, I tried with terraforming so far but the stations didn't really agree with that.
@@Silvarret You can use the snow scenery pieces I think. Maybe artshapes for where the snow should be flattened (the embarking/disembarking). I'm glad green pistes are a thing, but so it's weird it doesn't exist in Austria then.
About your audio glitches (if they’re still a problem these days) - does the software you record with (like audicity) record on 48kHz? Because at least in Audicity it will automatically try to record on 44.1kHz and that might cause those glitches as your recording software is trying to ‘catch up’ with your audio. Again, not an expert but I use a BlueYeti also and never experienced the glitches you are having. If this is no longer a problem forget I said anything 😅
Wonderful details; I can't wait to see what else you have planned! Hoping to see a chalet for people to lounge in (perhaps using one of the in-game cafés inside), and a trick park would also be very cool! The 'road slope' also reminds me of the cross-country trails that a lot of our hills have here in Canada. :D
Have you seen yet the ski resort made in RCT2? On NEDesigns a team made a ski resort for Head 2 Head 8 (round 4 match 3). They included a quad and gondola, specifcally based on Doppelmayr designs.
super excited for this. I think you should try and make groomed snow with sunk in objects somehow. it would be tough but I think the payoff is worth it.
This is beautiful! I wish the people would actually ski. That would be awesome! Like I wish skiing was an actual ride. Like you can map out areas for skiing.
OOh, love the idea you've got there. Actually gave me an idea to build a mountaineous (or whichever word it should be) summer adventure park thing with rock climbing, mountainbike routes, etc. BUT FIRST FINISH THIS PARK (please before the turn of the century ;) )
I'm a Poma (or Leinter Poma as is it here in the U.S.) person myself. I actually was a lift operator for nearly 5 years on a pulse gondola. Those chairs to me appear to be Poma. Take a look a look here: liftblog.com/snowflake-breckenridge-co/ But yes, the cabins are definitely CWA inspired, Omega III' or IV's probably. As for all the line equipment and stations, I think they are just generic ones from older styles hence the lack of a lifting frame. Cebsim did an excellent job on the Doppelmayr lifting frames so at least you can give it a identity if so desired. The station in which the motor sits is the drive station while the other is called the return station. Most often the drive is at the top as it is more efficient there. End result is fantastic and very realistic. Can't wait to see the remainder. (Even if you are doing a Doppelmayr only mountain. :P )
Looks great! Just have a few realism critiques based on my experiences on the slopes, and avid love for tree skiing (snowboarding actually) 1. At some point you said you made the ground under the trees "dirty" since less snow falls there. However from my experience the trees tend to have the most, and best snow. Why? Fewer people venture into the areas so the snow is less skiied over, and often times fresh and untouched. Secondly the branches collect a massive amount of snow that later falls down during warmer periods, and refreshes the already less used snow (compared to the piste). 2. Trees between parallel pistes are purposely less dense than natural forests. Resorts like to leave these areas available for people to tree ski (because of the added challenge and because the best snow is in the trees) 3. It's very common to have a run directly under the lift. Entrance into these can be guided with fencing but it's usually left pretty open for people to go into 4. The bottom of a lift is not roped off, even if it's surrounded by trees. Skiiers that went into the trees or under the lift need to have a way back to the piste at the very bottom 5. There is usually a SLOW sign at the bottom of runs, accompanied by staggered fencing such that you have to slow down and basically do a mini-slalom around the fences to access the lift area. This mini-slalom gets people to slow down when approaching the lift area.
Found this channel from Planet Zoo but I love this! I really wish they could let you do more around resorts in PC (I mean even Disney has hotels, resorts, and everything)! :)
The difficulty of pists often doesn't depend on the slope, but rather the snow quality. For example black pists tend to be more icy than snowy. But the major difference between blue and red is mostly the slope. (Blue pists also tend to be wider)

5. There is usually a SLOW sign at the bottom of runs, accompanied by staggered fencing such that you have to slow down and basically do a mini-slalom around the fences to access the lift area. This mini-slalom gets people to slow down when approaching the lift area.
Quick question, I’m on PS4, looked in tracked rides, and there’s no chairlift / gondola in there. Can someone help?
Found this channel from Planet Zoo but I love this! I really wish they could let you do more around resorts in PC (I mean even Disney has hotels, resorts, and everything)! :)
The difficulty of pists often doesn't depend on the slope, but rather the snow quality. For example black pists tend to be more icy than snowy. But the major difference between blue and red is mostly the slope. (Blue pists also tend to be wider)
If you haven't already, look into Snowtopia! It's a cool little ski resort tycoon game that is being developed. Seems up your alley.
