    The issue I worry about on a really relaxed swing is face control.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  3 місяці тому +1

      That’s exactly the point though until you let go of trying to deliberately control the clubface you can never create a consistent action through impact. If you then find you consistently miss the target on one side you can play with doing the opposite until you can find the optimal impact position for you. Once you do this you will discover consistency and ease. Good luck with that journey. You will be amazed once you get there. 👍

      I have proven this fact to myself over and over again. For me tension in my hands and arms always results in an open or closed club head at impact. This “grip and rip” is not for me.

    I just broke my left arm. Still, I want to Play golf😊 So, I Play with my right arm only The next 4 weeks😂 and If you want The ball to go any distance at all you have to let go of any tension. Great drill this is. Tension free😊 I am reading your new book now. Great!

      I too broke my left wrist and played for six months right handed - you are spot on I soon discovered, like you that once you let go of all tension and any hastiness it all works fine. Two years later I had a triple op on my right shoulder and had to do the opposite and play left handed for six months. It was almost the same on the other side. Sometimes we learn valuable lessons from these adverse situations. 👍

    This is really quite applicable to my swing, where aged mid 40s I’m exhausted after a round and my finish position is exactly what you demonstrated. It also seems to result in a tense early extension, hence stuck on a 14 handicap.
    One question do you feel like your arms are floating and loose with your relaxed backswing, opposed to steering the club and putting it into positions? A bit like throwing a dart which is relaxed feeling, opposed to steering the dart which would be horrendous

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  3 місяці тому +1

      Absolutely spot on - it’s the juxtaposition of letting go of control to gain control. Glad it’s helping and we are sure you will continue to improve now.

    I have no tension in my golf swing. I lost 20 yards with my driver (180 down to 160) since last year. Working on getting back the yardage (hopefully more than a 20 yard gain) before I actually play again. Home on the range.

    • @Easiestswing

      These can make a small difference but if you lack clubhead speed more flexible graphite shafts can help and as you mentioned in your other comment completing your through swing can make a big difference to your acceleration through the ball.

    I tried this method at the driving range and then out on the course last week. Worked well, up to a point! Only pars or bogeys for first 13 holes, then all went to %#^@ as it was going so well I started going for the hero shots again and ended up with a couple of quads :(
    Definitely worth persevering with, but I am a bit confused about transition the 'danse de golf' into an actual golf swing.
    I can see the follow through into the end position gacing the target which looks like the fanse finish position, but in all the actual swings I've seen people do on the channel none of the takeaways look anything like as far rotated around with hips, shoulders or left foot (for right handers) as in the danse. I'm not sure whether to follow the danse in the backswing or not.

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  3 місяці тому

      The turn in the backswing is possibly the most difficult thing for all golfers very few of us achieve anything like the turn of the pros. LDG is a great way to learn to increase it. Stick with it! Don’t give up you will improve your swing with regular practice on it.

    😢 Trying to make the Easiest Swing for me is like trying to get back to sleep at 2am. It was nice for the first two holes to-day. I will try adding some mechanical thoughts tomorrow to reduce some of the more egregious swing results and see if I can find a happy medium. ❤

    Another great video per usual! Any tips for releasing the tension when staring at the ball? The practice swings always feel so smooth and easy, then when I look at the ball, I feel all the old habits creep back in. Usually takes 3-4 holes to remember to let go of control. Will this just come with time and trusting the Easiest Swing?

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  3 місяці тому +1

      Often as you remove tension your swing’s rhythm will naturally change but if it doesn’t and you swing as fast as you did before you will get exactly the result you describe. Hope that helps set you on the right path.

    Excellent job Mr. Sparks in explaining and demonstrating the #1 problem that a amateur golfer has in his golf swing! I think this is more true as a golfer ages and starts to loose distance. They feel if they apply a little more pressure to the handle that their muscles will react better. As you pointed out, the opposite is true! Well Done Sir!

    • @Easiestswing
      @Easiestswing  3 місяці тому

      Yes indeed - I always remember a 3 handicap player at a club I was working at who got to 60 and started losing a little distance he started to hit harder to make it back up. In a very short space of time he had lost his graceful and fluid swing and got a short tense swing with lots of effort. His handicap rose to 12 within a year.
