I bought one with every option available in the Geyser Blue. This vehicle has been the most satisfying vehicle purchase I’ve ever made. I have no disappointments and it has exceeded my expectations which has never happened before with buying a car or truck. My GMC Sierra had been close but not like the Subaru. I liked Honda but Subaru has really been much better satisfying. Plus the one I bought was actually made in Japan which I really like that I bought Japanese car actually made in Japan. Don’t think anybody would regret buying one of these
Given other autumn metallic green Outbacks and Foresters are green in the bay - maybe it was resprayed for test review purposes (It's not the wilderness signature blue colour... )
The best thing about the Forresters, all of them, is the visibility. All the glass. I used to have a bugeye wagon, so that is my standard for what visibility should be.
Its nice after a long day at work from being yelled at from corporate, or customers, to come home and watch a nice video from Sarah. Its nice to end the day on a high note.
Sarah's hair curtains her face during braking, hilarious! Your editing and camera work are fantastic! Kudos to you. I so appreciate each and every episode. I look forward to many more hours of content and watching.
Awesome review! One small thing is that it's 60/40 normally but sends up to 50/50 depending on conditions (and will always be 50/50 on loose dirt, snow, etc). I definitely recommend Jason at Engineering Explained's video on Subaru AWD systems if anyone is interested!
This Forester looks the part of a wilderness vehicle and I was very impressed it tackled Mt. Sarah. Very fair scores… you do good at keeping your bias in check. Thank you! 👍👍👍

I own a subaru outback and we live in north eastern Canada and i'll say my Subaru goes through snow like it wasn't even there , we bought it new in 2012 and it still runs like the day it was new it takes us through anything love it.thanks for putting out great content on youtube love your ranger series Sarah have a great day..
I really appreciate your videos you're helping me through my depression and really enjoy you working on cars I love working on cars thank you for your happy attitude at it your videos appreciated keep making more please
I haven’t chuckled this many times during a car review in a while. That was a pretty awesome review. I’d watch you review drywall at this point with the quality of your input. Awesome video lol
This was the one that made the final decision for me to get a Forrester Gump Wilderness. Love your vids, glad I found your content. Your camera work and edits are very impressive. Keep it up!
Sparky effects when you tap things never gets old. Always loved the Forester. Your boots rock. Your hair looked fantastic in the braking test. 8:52 Rock em Sock em Robots....good grief I'm old. Wooden intake manifolds in 1873.......your not far off. Your organic microphone impressed the sh***t out of me. Your skills at parking are unique.
I just discovered this channel... Sarah is the a rock and roll reviewer imo... you go girl... Being an old vw bug enthusiast ive always been a fan of the box er engine and Subaru
I came across you this morning when I got into my office at 6am and it is now 1:50pm and I'm still watching! I think I'll get to work and maybe get something done! Thanks
Today I brought home my very own WilderGump in Geyser Blue. It is so pretty! There aren't really any meatballs in Northern Illinois, but we do get our fair share of snow. Your review definitely held sway in making the decision to get it. Have a great day!
We are waiting on our first Subaru after 50 years of driving. We are getting the same one in the blue color. Supposed to be here first part of February
Since you've changed car review formulas, this is my favorite. It's got the quirkiness that I enjoy. Thanks for the entertaining video. Also, your shoes are fire
I was trying to make this formula more appealing to the subscribers here for project car content. It still doesn’t help, reviews are slow growers in views, but consistently grow over time.
And now we will solemnly pay our respects to all the Subarus that have fallen trying to summit Mt Greenwood. But wait, it appears one has beaten the odds! Victory whoops are heard in downtown Tucson...Killer review, Sarah. Loved the beat reporter scene, too.
the most impoting thing is the cooler oil transmition, this is a the X factor of the wilderness . it influance on the x-mode ,the towing capacity and the off road performance. this cooler has to be on every Subaru
Just watched Driving Sports TV compare this to a Jeep Compass in snow. Subaru made it up a hill with 12” of snow where the Jeep couldn’t because the awd over heated.
Thanks Sarah. I have a 2021 Gump Sports model. It is lifted and has all terrain Goodrich tires so it is very off-road capable. In a way, I kind of wish I'd waited a year for the Wilderness Edition for those added features but on the other hand I'm completely happy with the way my Gump is set up and how it handles in dirt, mud and snow. It's really amazing. I've taken it out on some pretty rogh excursions and so far it's never let me down. Plus it's my commuter vehicle to work every day and it does get decent gas mileage. I like the sunroof on the Sport which I didn't see on the Wilderness which is really nice on summer days when you want to ditch the A/C and feel the outside air. But ask you said, the Wilderness is definitely a fun and capable Subaru for those of us who like to drive off the pavement from time to time.
Very Sparky review! Your dialogue, Sarah, is the flash for the spark. I look forward to all of your posts, very informative, very entertaining...your humor, always, is the bright spot in the day as I languish away in an unsparkable day....too much sparkling, i know, I know....
Subaru knew that was going to be a press car and they saved money anywhere they could, because that's what makes them so great lmao I'd love to see a video on the new WRX with your new format!
Love the ASMR reference and the gold sparks as you tap varous parts! nice touch! and you are soo right about the gold wheels matching the gold trim, probably why you have gold sparks LOL!
I can hardly wait for your review of the Crosstrek Wilderness when it comes out. At the moment, that is the car I want to get next. As far as Subaru's EV future, I really hope they put independent motors on each wheel for a full-time 4 wheel e-drive. No diffs needed at all. That smile on your face when WilderGump made it up the hill! I could have sworn I saw "I want one of these" flash in your eyes.
One of my favorite videos. Your expression during braking and vehicle description is the best. I would buy one in a heartbeat if they offered a turbo. Will hold on to my 2017 until then.
Doubting that, unfortunately... more power, possibly with electric assistance... turbo it's possible... but not likely to be what you would think, if it sees a Turbo, it'll likely be a smaller displacement already in other countries, not our 2.4. The WRX is supposed to be Subarus last ICE only vehicle. Moving to Subaruized, Toyota Hybrid tech eventually leading to full EV.
Just got mine . I can not believe it went up that hill😱. I actually thought that was a setup to fail. I can’t wait to get mine off road. Im actually trying to baby it for the first 1,000 miles. Nice review.
Yea! Carbon blast Forester video sounds awesome. I bought the same white XT you own last year and love her! its my 3rd Subie and I learned to rebuild my first engine with an 02 OB H6.
Why is my car in your garage lol. Traded in my 2020 Premium last week and bought a Wilderness. Took it off roading the next day. Definitely better off road, plowed through deep sand no problem, over the whoops without scraping. It still feels somewhat underpowered, but for a newer SUV type vehicle, it's not bad. Love your vids, and I think your assessment of the Forester Wilderness is spot-on. For a bit of techie info: The Wilderness CVT has a 1st ratio of 4.07 compared to 3.60 on the other trims. Final drive is 4.11 compared to 3.70. Combined, that's slightly more than 1.25 times available wheel torque in 1st gear. They also changed reverse to 4.38 compared to 3.69, even lower than first gear... hmmm wonder how climbing in reverse would go.
Ordered mine. I have a 21 Crosstrek and traded it. If I want a heavy duty off-road vehicle I have a 2014 Tundra limited. This is a nice upgrade to their previous Forrester. A great cross country vehicle
Sarah, love your channel! Just found your UA-cam! I just partially rebuilt a 2008 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport Manual. It's my first Subi! I'm loving it. I totally agree with your reviews with these new Subaru's.
I just put some geolanders on my parents Ascent. They made a huge difference on the off-road capabilities. I was looking at going with a smaller rim for a fatter sidewall but Subaru has a large offset that is hard to find and you have to be careful of the brakes clipping the rim. Overall I still like Subaru.
Wow...what a cool video, Sarah. Lots of things to like. Sparks flying from your fingertips is one. The car, perched with the front wheel two feet off the ground is another. I also like the fact that you test all off-roaders on the same hill. With a rear locker and all terrain tires, this Subie would probably go everywhere. I want to see your video on walnut blasting, too. I have three cars with direct injection and want to see what goes on that process. Keep up the great work.
Was there ever a walnut blasting video? I am going to need to do this on my '15 XT soon, and definitely don't want to go to the dealer to get them cleaned... again. In Sarah we trust!
Wow. I really didn't think it would make it up that. I would put on more aggressive all terrain tires after the factory ones wore out, after getting it. ( if I bought one)
I will pass on the entire unit in favor of my body-on-frame 4X4 which has a turning circle that makes this Subaru thing look like a 1970s Lincoln Town Car. I also will own NO 4X4 that doesn't have locking hubs and a MECHANICALLY controlled transfer case.

It would be a treat to see a similar mechanical/soft-road review of the Subie Ascent Onyx ed... It would be interesting to see if it can even climb a curb. It has a "turbo" and all...
Loved the review, Sarah (especially when you chided Subaru for the engine bay's overspray, no hood struts, and weird gray color on the inside of the hood). Also love those plaid colored heels (and how gorgeous you look overall!). :)

Foresters are great vehicles.
i can't stop laughing over the ''no no no no no subaru'' about the paint. thanks for so much for producing these reviews and making us laugh.
Yeah I found it weird they did this to this car. Our 2020 Outback XT is painted under the hood and in the bay.
Given other autumn metallic green Outbacks and Foresters are green in the bay - maybe it was resprayed for test review purposes (It's not the wilderness signature blue colour... )
was one of the first things I noticed when we were shopping for our 2016 crosstrek when it was new.
I think overspray is just one of those Subie quirks. My 2012 Outback has some overspray in random places.
The best thing about the Forresters, all of them, is the visibility. All the glass. I used to have a bugeye wagon, so that is my standard for what visibility should be.
+1 : Underrated super power. Forester visibility is exceptional.
The reason i subscribe is your passion and enthusiasm!
When Gump made it up that hill, your response was priceless.
Best car reviewer on the interwebs. I’ll put in a good word with skynet.
Its nice after a long day at work from being yelled at from corporate, or customers, to come home and watch a nice video from Sarah. Its nice to end the day on a high note.
it's still nice, after a long day at work, yelling at people and daring them to yell at me, to watch Sarah be this excited.
Sarah's hair curtains her face during braking, hilarious! Your editing and camera work are fantastic! Kudos to you. I so appreciate each and every episode. I look forward to many more hours of content and watching.

Lol, yeah. Her hair during break tests always makes me laugh
Yes!!!!!! The signature Sarah seat bolster test. It is the best and makes the car review!!!

Or.. just wait a few years and the JDM 2022 Turbo engines will show up at JDM importers. Then we can fix this issue ourselves???
Needs a turbo AND a stick. Outback Wilderness also needs a stick so it would be much easier to swap in a dual range transmission from overseas😁
Those days are over. Next phase is electric.

This is the best forester wilderness review! Most technical, and most funny! Thank you =). Subaru should let you keep this one for free
Great review and thanks for going underneath and talking the tech specs
Love the animation Sarah!
the thing about your reviews is that you actually work on cars. YOU ROCK!
Just discovered your channel and love your humor and knowledge base. Thanks for posting these!
I've had my 14' Crosstrek (stock) in places the Jeepers can't believe I'm in there. Best damn car ever!
Hey Sarah, i’m glad it made it up the hill there was a pucker moment there for a second. Love the shoes by the way have a good one🐧🐧🐧👍
Wow. I really didn't think it would make it up that. I would put on more aggressive all terrain tires after the factory ones wore out, after getting it. ( if I bought one)

@@donreinke5863 That's cool, but the Forester Wilderness really isn't intended to be part of the niche you described.

Your knowledge follows your great looks so I'm going to subscribe. It's hard to find beauty and brains all in one. Well done girl.
Great review 🤩🤩🤩
Btw, I love how encouraging and supportive Sarah is when climbing hills...awesome woman. :)
Finally a new one!

The Ascent can't climb a curb. Not because it lacks the off-road chops for it, but because it's at the dealership service dept for warranty work.
@@toronado455 that’s too funny. I did hear the last couple of year’s models were pretty solid mall-roders
