Our Hampton Butte Camping and Rockhounding Experience

We are taking you along with us during out time camping and rockhounding at Hampton Butte. Here we are looking for Green Jasper replaced petrified wood and any other rocks that are cool like agate, jaspagate, common opal, petrified wood and jasper. This is a beautiful area to camp and rockhound.

Just starting to get into rockhounding with all my family and realizing that Hampton butte is only 3-4 hours away from us, we are so lucky to be in such an incredible area for finding these rocks!

You've inspired us once again. Wife and I are planning to drag our little trailer there next June. Is it best to camp on the north or south side of 12 mile road?

Camping is good pretty much everywhere. This is one of our favorite places to go camping.

Do you go up to Hampton butte via hwy 20?

That is the primary route to get there, so yes highway 20 is the way I go

Beautiful campsite! Maybe Rocky and Jewel caught the scent of a good rock under their enclosure and wanted to participate in the fun! 😁 It's always a delight to watch the zoomies happen. Great video!
