    It felt so good when you said "it's time to clean this room" because I remember that, when you started, you would only go through about a handful of items from the playroom. But now? Deal with whole rooms in one go! Amazing ;D

    For me personally, allowing the panic attacks did wonders. I was so afraid of them that I avoided them. When I realized, it will (probably) not kill me, I allowed myself to go deeper and deeper into the panix each time. At the end, I learned that it REALLY didn't kill me, that I made it through the panic. This way, I gained back a lot of control.

    Its so nice to see that you can do this all in one episode, in the beginning it would have taken you like 3 maybe 4 videos! Good job!

    Ms H. How about you make permanent tubs with labels when you are decluttering. Labels can be what it is and where it goes. Ex. Donate for goodwill and put in car. Donate for giving page. Recycling. Fb marketplace free. Fb sell. Box to basement. so that hubby can help deal with the stuff. See if you can give just a little to your hubby to keep the house cleaned up and tidy.

      oh i like this! it wouldnt bother me if you don't do flat-lays of all the declutter items but just showed your bins full of things, if it makes it easier on you!

      I like the thought of zones for categories you often use, and seeing stuff in each category! Your home is de-cluttered enough to bring several bins into each area before starting. That way, hopefully it's easier to take things to their "home".

      I agree! I also wouldn’t mind seeing you take it where it goes; the basement, the car, the trash bin...

      Yeah sounds like Ms. Heart needs to declutter her to do’s. If she can delegate her tasks to her family with a system like that, that will reduce her load a lot👍

    July 2024. I worked F/T when my kids were in school. I'd make a meatloaf or casserole the night before and my daughter would put it in the oven. Also, my older
    son enjoyed cooking dinner. I assigned my youngest a chore to be done each afternoon. Otherwise, they played outside. Tina, Al's wife

    What if you cleaned up your laundry room again and dedicated the cubbies to your decluttering efforts for now? One cubby for neighborhood postings, keep some bags or bins on hand for tossy tossy, a bin for donate, bin for kids room, basement, etc. Then when you are decluttering you just bring the bins to the spot and then to clean up or pause the project you can just put the bins in the cube. Sort as you go and then you have a handy bin full to take to the basement to put away, etc .

    This is so cool. I have the feeling that for you something changed immensly. I guess all the efforts you made in the past year like finding homes for things and making everything simpler now pays off. You tidied a whole room in one sitting and kept so many steps in mind. I would also recommend having bins with labels for the decluttered items so that you don't have to decide twice what to do with them.

    Thank you so much for emphasizing the follow through with the end action tasks, that is my main problem I struggle with. I have put things in my trunk to get rid of & then it is forgotten. When I went to put my travel gear in for a trip I had to put it in the garage last minute (extra time spent & making me late). Later it ended up back in the house...ugh. I don't feel so terrible knowing other struggle with the same issues.

    Do the boys really need two bins of toys in the living room? I think they are of the age they can retrieve and put away toys from their room. If you moved those to their rooms two more cubes for games!

    • @ahoardersheart
      @ahoardersheart  3 роки тому +7

      The honest answer is prolly not 🙏🏻♥️ the real answer is that I do because it’s still a coping mechanism for all my recent miscarriages. The boys used to always play with the toys in those bottom bins. Tyler will once in awhile but not everyday. I was able to downsize it to two...and trying to find the strength to Declutter the last two. I’ll get there soon enough 🙏🏻❤️ Thank you for always being an encouraging friend 💞🙏🏻

    You are so fast now, I remember when it took you a long time to do small piles! What is in the bins marked toys” in the cube shelve in your living room? If toys need to put in boys room or decutter,right? I am so happy you put family games in cube shelves 🦋 You are doing a awesome job🌷 I really enjoy watching your videos 🎊 I have watched you from the first video ☝️

  • @JoJo-ul4qs

    I think next time you do a video you should take a bin for your towns giving page, a bin for good will and a bin for trash/ recycling so that you can sort the items right away as soon as you de clutter a room

  • @Alex-dz2et
    @Alex-dz2et 3 роки тому +20

    One way to avoid this is to view the declutter task as incomplete until the items are out of the house, or at least sorted into categories in the basement. If you filmed the whole process it could make you accountable for decluttering.

    • @couponlady7240
      @couponlady7240 3 роки тому +6

    Miss Heart ❤️ you are so right small wins are ssssooooooo important and great for motivation 👏 I’m wondering would it help if you had a few containers labelled in the laundry room for “towns giving page”, “goodwill”, “women’s shelter” etc. It might help having a place they can go to immediate until your ready to drop off. Great job as always. Stay safe and healthy. Mary, Joes wife 👏👍💐🦄

    Great job , as usual!! It is hard for lots of us to get things out of the house once we’ve let go. I think for me that I see it as a separate thing to do , not a continuation of what I’m doing. My husband doesn’t stop until the decluttered items are at Goodwill or wherever we take them. Just the way our brains are wired.

    I think I have a little OCD and some mild hoarding disorder but didn’t really realize it until I started watching your channel. And I know it started as a child because I collected things like stickers, stationary, pencils, erasers, etc... And I would keep them and not use them! As an adult I finally let go of a lot because I realized I didn’t need it. I offered to my kids and they passed on it and out the door it went. It’s very liberating to let go of stuff but I understand the emotional connection and not letting go until your really sure in order to avoid the regrets and anxiety.

    Because of your hoarding disorder, I'm not sure if you have the perspective to see this, but you are now at the stage with most of your upstairs where you aren't cleaning up giant hoards in small sections, you're cleaning up messes. Your living room at the beginning of this video looks like a non-hoarder's living room when it's a mess. The fact that you are cleaning up rooms at the normal messy stage shows just how far you've come in your healing. Another great video!

    When I was younger I put in place cleaning rules for myself, the house had to be picked up before bed, we had to do chores on Saturday before anything else everyone had jobs even my 2 year old (he had to take the. Newspaper to the trash outside ) we would put on the beach boys crank it up and dance and have fun cleaning! Try to put some small things in place for your own peace of mind and sanity I'm so proud of how much you have grown!

      Maybe take two empty boxes with two bags in each box with you for your declutter videaos. Box one: a bag for all the giveaway ,sale and a bag for put away elsewhere. Box two: one bag for recycle and a bag for trash. That way the intial sort is done as you work in the target area. This way even if you still set it in living room because of time , at least all the stuff is corralled.

    Great job! Just a thought; make sure with recording a video you always have tubs/bags nearby. This way you can decide the sorted items straight away in recycling, good will, shelter etc. Then the sorting is already done ! I often see you in your videos, decluttering , deciding what to go where and then just putting it to the side for it to be dealt with later. That is twice the work, why not make it easier on yourself :)

Otherwise I would clean and organize continuously. I cannot imagine having hoarding disorder AND ADHD. Oh man girl. I have been watching you for about a year and you have made so much progress. I can tell you, the more you are able to get rid of, the easier the cleaning gets.

    Go trough in your mind all different segments that you can recycle. How many are there? Take that many boxes or plastic bags and when declutering, put them already in sections so your husband can help you to take trash away.

    One thing i suggest is getting a nice vacuum. Shark is a great brand. They can be expensive but i think it is worth it because a nice vacuum makes you excited to clean

      Several years ago we were given an I-Robot for a Christmas family gift! My guys love technology, so all of a sudden they were rushing around to put things away so it wouldn't be vacuumed up by the I-robot! Wow! I loved that I didn't need to say a thing! It became more of a routine to tidy up each evening because the robot was scheduled to turn on! That was so nice to "not have to say anything", but the family was motivated to do what was needed without me saying anything!

    For the end shot items in the morning is that something you can try and divide earlier and then when you film the final you can just have trash/recycle on one side and donate/sell on another side? That way others can get the trash/recycle out without needing to ask?

    I've often wondered if your current system (making piles, then displaying them, and then putting them away) was a potential problem. This isn't the first video where you've shown things from past videos that you didn't get to the place where you decided they should go. I'll echo the suggestion others have shared about setting up bins/boxes with the categories you use most often. Then you could come back to them later, but they'll be contained and you'll already know what needs to be done with them - instead of them being in piles or bags that attract more stuff! You could also show us how full the bins were, instead of taking things to a different area to spread it all out on the floor.

    When you film you could try having bins boxes or bags ready labeled as trash recycle good will sell or return to where they belong and cut out the whole second sort as the second sort is just busy making and it forces you to go back through the hoard which subconsciously gives you a chance to change your mind and keep it again. Did you keep the broken sunglasses because in the first sort you said you didn’t need them?

    Pondering want kind of system you could install to quickly sort when you declutter. On the spot, not having to run around the house.
    Maybe you could have a tote like Clutterbug have for ”another room” when She is cleaning a room.
    Then again, I have similar issues and can’t be excused from them as I Don’t have any mental issues myself.
    In my case; dicipline needed, If I can stay up too long looking at movies/series/youtube on my phone I should be able to put things away the same day. Even hauling boxes down the stairs to cellar storage.

    I loved this video and I conected with you when you said you even need to know that the paper and the bags goes to a place that recicles each thing because i am like you 🦄, i even go to the beach with a bag and collect plastic to throw in the recicling bin.
    I just missed the part when you show the things you get rid of (even if in this video is just the matress and the litle paper thing it all counts) maybe is just because i love to see that photo at the end 😅

    Good job! (Maybe once a week, before you go to bed, you can get a crockpot meal completely prepped for the next day. Before you go to work you just pull crock out of fridge and turn it on. It might take a little extra time the night before, but it would give you a little xtra time the next day when you get home. Just a suggestion. )

    Miss Heart, you really are a whirlwind in your decluttering and cleaning 🌟🌟 I saw you have an extra cabinet by your tv bench that clutter the room a bit, is that something you could declutter? Of course just a suggestion but I think it would open up the room a bit more!

    Hi Ms. Heart! Have you ever come across the term 'neurodiversity'? I think it's a fantastic, positive way to describe conditions like ADHD (and OCD, epilepsy, autism, tourettes, dyslexia, language disorders etc.) because it's describing something that is more about how you are and not something that is wrong with you. It's all about your wiring and not something that is negative and a deviation from 'the norm'.
