I cannot believe I just watched this!!! I've been a Voctave fan for years, but a Drum Crops fan (and performer) for DECADES. I spent a lot of time listening to Voctave and their awesome vocal arrangements while imagining their arrangements done on the field - though I'm sure this was a collab. Even though the venue might have been uncomfortable for the singers (as evidenced by their slight instability early on), they adjusted by the end my whole body was flushed with goose bumps. BUT I kept waiting for them to isolate Kate Lott and one of her stratosphere notes, what a missed opportunity! Imagine her sustaining one of her trademark high notes with everyone else cut off, then WHAM everyone hits! *sigh* But yeah that was awesome, thank you for posting!
I guess maybe cos this was Tiffany's song they wanted her to shine here, I'm sure in the studio recording you can hear Kate at the end though! Have you heard Kate's RIDICULOUS notes on THIS?! ua-cam.com/video/0RojDqKIcVk/v-deo.html Just phenomenal! And yes.. I totally agree with how hard that must have been in that venue. They did an amazing job!
That last Sttttaaaaaarrrrr was 17 seconds..... Tiffany you are a goddess! I listen to this song pretty much every day but haven't heard it with the brass band as well, sounds absolutely phenomenal. I love how she can fill an entire stadium with those lungs! Voctave are the BEST. PERIOD!!!
Damn....two of my favorites, acappella and drum corps! I stumbled across Voctave while watching Pentatonics. I marched with the Madison Scouts in the 70"s and to see this is amazing!
3:30 on....love, Love, LOVE the response she gets from her post!!!! My first though...OMG!!!....my second thought...Carolina Crown just got quieted down by ONE VOICE!!! Massive!!!
Wow! Just, wow!! If I could only imagine, but I’m certain that even God, with every perfect voice and harmony of all the angels and a perfect brass ensemble, that even God himself, continues to get goosebumps.
I'm not a singer, so Voctave is pretty knew to me, but I've known DCI for many years (marched myself, and won a ring in '99); this is a wonderful distiillation of sounds from both groups. Tight brass harmonies will make many knees buckle, the same with tight vocals. When you put them together, with this unworldly soprano singing on top, though, I dunno. It's just sort of awesome.
This is.... epic! And could be improved more with a bit more thought into the sound system layout, the band is almost too large without a bigger vocal system. To be fair this is a phone recording I bet it sounded incredible in person. Maybe they need to take that band in a studio for UA-cam
Someone give some props to that conductor!!! He totally glued everything together rhythmically!

Don’t they know it’s dangerous for your ears to stand that close to the beast??

Matthew Louis
I’m a huge crown fan, and I’m sure my legs wouldn’t move because I’d be glued to my seat by goosebumps

I think the beginning really lacked and they were a little off but overall good based on videos I have seen with them in studio
that brass section was lit
