The soloist for “Whole new World” is Drew Ochoa. A few years ago his barbershop quartet, After Hours, won the International convention gold medal. A very accomplished singer in his own right and fits perfectly well with Voctave.
If you want another example of Drew's excellence, check out his quartet's performance of "Take On Me" ua-cam.com/video/kmAYpZsYT8U/v-deo.htmlsi=rp_RAC03YLh7zzF4 You're going to love love love his upper range!
Being an a capella fan for years with Pentatonix and Home Free being my all time favorite groups I still have to say, Voctave is on a whole other level with their arrangements. They are truly masterful and I have to say I have not heard anyone coming even close to the magic they create.
THANK YOU, TARA for bringing back your reactions to Voctave. Drew is singing Aladdin and he is wonderful (see him in their “Remember Me” video). Oh, on their tour they told us that Chrystal does the costuming choices, since you mentioned. As my students in music say, "Any Day with Voctave is a Good Day."
I say the same thing about Drew, he smiles with his eyes. It's so beautiful, inviting, and endearing. What a gift. I definitely recommend reacting to Somewhere that they just released as well. Pure perfection.
Every single one of them has a magnificent voice but it is sooo magical when they combine. I shall be forever grateful to you Tara for introducing me to them a few years back.
As a musician I really appreciate your intuitive and spot-on comments. You are way above any other commentators in the way you convey even the smallest of nuances. Your channel and comments are true teaching avenues for everyone. Thanks!
This has to be their best Disney song so far and that note EJ holds at the end is incredible. That man has lungs of steel! And the guy who did Aladdin is Drew
I'm so excited! I received word yesterday that their new Christmas album just shipped. We're also going to see them in concert in Dayton Dec. 7th. This is going to be a very merry Christmas!
Have soooo missed your Voctave reactions. So many awesome ones to do. Their covid induced version of You Will Be Found ( Dear Evan Hansen) with a huuuuuuuuge supporting cast is wonderful and West Side Story's Somewhere will give you chills and tears!! Do your thing pretty lady . ( and some salsa on the side)
I got to meet Drew (singing A Whole New World here) and Aaron (singing Kill the Beast) at Walt Disney World last week. They are part of the Voices of Liberty who sing in the American Pavilion at Epcot. Super nice guys. We talked for a bit and got a pic with them!
EJ can get right the heck outta town on this one! 😂 But the standout of this one for me is Drew. The warmth from his voice and face make me wanna step onto that flying carpet.❤
Yep. Voctave does it again. I really love your Voctave reactions - PLEASE, don't wait so long to do more! As we are in the Christmas season please do some Voctave Christmas reactions. I'd like to recommend "Where Are You, Christmas?" featuring, Ashley Espinoza and her son Gael - it's absolutely stunning (make sure you have some tissues).
Tara, I've always enjoyed your reactions, and this is no exception. I know this comes a little late (like 5 months), but I would really love for you to react to Voctave's cover of "Somewhere" which features each and every one of the members. And if you'd like a little more Broadway, check out their cover of "Goodnight My Someone", a Kate Lott solo. And finally, I recommend you listen to their "Disney Lullabies"... you will not be disappointed. I look forward to many more of your reactions!!!
I believe that their great diction comes from so many of them having sung in Voices of Liberty at Epcot Center. That's a hallmark of vocal groups who sing at Disney parks.
Welcome back Tara! You've got lots of new Pentatonix to catch up on, inc!using solos from Mitch (under the name Messer) and Scott, including a song he wrote for his new husband!
Have been a subscriber for a quite some time. Love your channel. Don't forget about Voctave in December. You got to check out "Where Are You, Christmas." Bring a tissue.
Where are you christmas is so good Ashley is amazing plus i would love your opinion on the little boys vocals i think he's about 3 yrs old? I love your reactions
Okay so a few things. Tara, your facial reaction on the first video, WAS ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! WERE YOU HAVING AN ALLERGIC REACTION? WHEN THAT MAN CARL HIT THAT LAST LOW NOTE I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO CALL 911 FOR YOU.😂😂😂😂 THEN LATER ON, YOU WERE SO EXCITED THAT YOU GAVE THE STANK FACE NOT ONCE BUT TWICE! STANK IT UP TARA!😂😂😂😂 Anyway this was nice video. Thanks for sharing I love you so much! Amen!❤️😊🤗😘😘😘😘😘
I would imagine that you could probably break just this song down in a three credit continuing education masterclass...so much to talk about, so little time.
I love the major a cappella groups (the 'big three'), but Voctave SOUNDS better than any group I've heard. Ever. Between the superhuman arrangements by Jamey, and the superhuman voices they ALL have... this group is just stunning. They epitomize the term "wall of sound."
Tara: I love how well dressed they always are. Never scruffy... Me: now I WANT her seeing their Disney 90s TV Medley. Them dressing up as 90s teens there. I admit it's a one time only departure of dress code so far. ^^
Dear Ms Simon, Your listening skills are supreme. I would love to hear your reaction to “Tuyo y Mio” (acoustic version 2023) by Camilo y Los Dos Carnales. Camilo’s voice is so different from Los Dos Carnales but to me they sound so great together, and it’s a beautiful song. Thank you for considering!
Tara! If you haven't heard of Samara Joy, I can't recommend her enough. Jazz singer at only 23 years old with multiple Grammys. Her voice is incredible

They recently did a cover of Somewhere. Please take a look at that one. It’s so good!
11 unique and talented voices all getting solos, this should be catnip to Tara
Yes, please do!!
Please review Somewhere...it sent chills.
Being an a capella fan for years with Pentatonix and Home Free being my all time favorite groups I still have to say, Voctave is on a whole other level with their arrangements. They are truly masterful and I have to say I have not heard anyone coming even close to the magic they create.
They're the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOING TO SEE THEM in a week.
Just LOVE your squeals of joy when vocative moves you from critique to amazement! Sometimes words are just insufficient!
The name of the smiling guy who sings Alladin is Drew Ochoa.
I say the same thing about Drew, he smiles with his eyes. It's so beautiful, inviting, and endearing. What a gift. I definitely recommend reacting to Somewhere that they just released as well. Pure perfection.
Alladin singer is Drew Ochoa. Lead singer of the After Hours Barbershop Quartet!
And if you have not heard After Hours versions of "Take On Me", "Butter Outa Cream" and "Nowhere To Go But Up", you don't know what you're missing.
Every single one of them has a magnificent voice but it is sooo magical when they combine. I shall be forever grateful to you Tara for introducing me to them a few years back.
I’ve seen them live and they legitimately sound exactly like their recordings, it’s crazy. The talent and technique is amazing.
Tara you too make the world a better place! I LOVE your energy! You are also very beautiful! 😊
Awee. Thank u love
No words can do them justice. Simply the best.
I screamed when I heard OUT THRRE!!! I freaking love it !
As a musician I really appreciate your intuitive and spot-on comments. You are way above any other commentators in the way you convey even the smallest of nuances. Your channel and comments are true teaching avenues for everyone. Thanks!
Thank you so much. That’s exactly what I hope to do through my channel.
I love Voctave. And I love your energy & enthusiasm Tara !!!
This has to be their best Disney song so far and that note EJ holds at the end is incredible. That man has lungs of steel! And the guy who did Aladdin is Drew
Because of Kate I have learned to live classical vocal and opera vocal. She is the reason I have expanded my love for music. So yes Kate is my fave.
He is INSANE !!! WOOW|| Love low voices like that. They give me shivers
If you like this you are gonna love their rendition of "somewhere" from West Side Story!
You really need to check out their cover of “Somewhere” from West Side Story. It is even more epic.
Girl I agree Voctave is amazing ♥been watching them for years now lol.
Tara you are simply the best reaction going. Such passion and knowledge. Love watching your site.
Love your reaction to this amazing performance by Corvyx ❤️💯👍. He has new music being released soon!
I'm so excited! I received word yesterday that their new Christmas album just shipped. We're also going to see them in concert in Dayton Dec. 7th. This is going to be a very merry Christmas!
E.J. held that last note for 19 seconds. I am so glad they featured the men in this one. Loved your reaction 😊
I think it was more than 19 seconds, but I still got chills.
Have soooo missed your Voctave reactions. So many awesome ones to do. The guy who did a whole new world is Drew Ochoa! He did/does barbershop as a Lead I think
His last name is Ochoa. Lol. Probably an autocorrect.
@@IForgetWorlds yep thanks for the catch!
Hey Tara! You don't know how much you've inspired me. Also your song walk away, it's helped me alot🤗
EJ holds the last phrase and the held last note for 27 seconds since he did not take a breath between them. What pipes.
Voctave is the best thing that has ever happened to the world...
Not sure they top Jesus, but they’re surely awesome 🤩
Yes "Somewhere" is an awesome recommendation to do next. It's heavenly

Love them all but Jamie’s voice is so beautiful.
That Tara, is Drew Ochoa. Great voice in some great groups, including some barbershop!
Welcome back Tara! You've got lots of new Pentatonix to catch up on, inc!using solos from Mitch (under the name Messer) and Scott, including a song he wrote for his new husband!
I always love when EJ holds out his notes that you have to take three days off from work to hear the whole thing.
You MUST review Somewhere by Voctave, CRAZY GOOD !
EJ!
Will you please interview Voctave next? That will definitely be fun to watch!
Nice bass line, and a hearable bassline.
They just released a “Disney Lullabies” medley. Worth a listen.
Have been a subscriber for a quite some time. Love your channel. Don't forget about Voctave in December. You got to check out "Where Are You, Christmas." Bring a tissue.

You should react to EJ’s brother, Omar Cardona’s, performances from ‘The Voice’. He was on the the show last year, and you will be blown away.
Oh my Lord. I love EJ!
Excelente!
Hallo Tara! More Voctave please. Please do O Holy Night by them since it's near holiday season already. Cheers!
I love the major a cappella groups (the 'big three'), but Voctave SOUNDS better than any group I've heard. Ever. Between the superhuman arrangements by Jamey, and the superhuman voices they ALL have... this group is just stunning. They epitomize the term "wall of sound."
Amazing!!!!!
The newest members are Aaron (beauty and the beast) and Drew (Aladdin)
Hi, Tara! I absolutely love Voctave! Will you be reacting to VoicePlay again? Perhaps something featuring J? ❤
Your reaction is what makes me happy, but Kate makes me cry.
Tara: I love how well dressed they always are. Never scruffy...
Me: now I WANT her seeing their Disney 90s TV Medley. Them dressing up as 90s teens there. I admit it's a one time only departure of dress code so far. ^^
Wish I'd been born with a 'Voice'! Instrumentalist, here.
You should definitely do one with your students. Anyone?
Dear Tara, please, react Gabriel Henrique's presentation in the semifinal. Kisses from Brazil.
Oh-Em-Geee!
Yes. They are planets top notch.
It's also been a while since you reacted to Sohyang.
Will you please do a reaction video to Voctave "Let the be peace"?
Dear Ms Simon,
Your listening skills are supreme. I would love to hear your reaction to “Tuyo y Mio” (acoustic version 2023) by Camilo y Los Dos Carnales. Camilo’s voice is so different from Los Dos Carnales but to me they sound so great together, and it’s a beautiful song. Thank you for considering!

Hey Tara, can you react to Colm Mcguinness's cover of Hell's Comin With Me?
What I'd give for EJ's lung capacity! Heck, just even half of it.
Tara! If you haven't heard of Samara Joy, I can't recommend her enough. Jazz singer at only 23 years old with multiple Grammys. Her voice is incredible
Yes! Second this! Perhaps Guess Who I Saw Today, or her Grammy’s performance
Being able to sing that long without breathing should not be allowed.
They're impressive for sure, but the originals are the ones that get me,especially the singing voice of Scar.💘💘💘
You ruined the end with all you’re screaming. Does that not occur to you?
First
Dovresti reagire al " principe d' Egitto" ciao grazie " dei Voctave bellissima , come te😊
