- Esports wouldn’t be esports without a healthy dose of trashtalk.
But if you’re going to dish it out off the server, you need to make sure you can back it up in game too.
Whether it's League of Legends, CS:GO, Dota, Valorant, Street Fighter or any game out there, we've all seen someone talk trash, only for it to backfire HORRIBLY once they actually get into the game.
Now, brace yourself, ‘cause we’re counting down the top ten times that egamers talked sh*t only to find themselves, well, getting hit.

There has never been a more legendary smackdown than the one PL suffered after attempting to claw back a little bit of dignity at 10-0, only for it to backfire spectacularly.

The main reason why this video is funny is that Wunder made a trashtalk in Armut's live broadcast and lost the match after that. And the day after that this video is published.

Was sure that the game with Envyus vs BK Stars from Apex* (Overwatch) was gonna be on the list. Bunny sits and trash talks Envyus in the post game interview calling the players bad, how the guy playing his same hero is trash and so on, meanwhile Mickie just smiles and takes it all like a champ and ends the interview with "Bunny, I'm gonna turn you into a meme", where they then proceeds to clap them, and Bunny getting destroyed by Effect playing the same role as him.
*Apex was the tournaments before Overwatch League, and Envyus travelled to Korea to compete against the Korean teams to test themselves out.

I know a lot of people have already brought it up, but there's a damn good reason for it: the 13-0 is one *seriously* iconic FGC moment, and not having it on this list is honestly kinda bullshit.

the fly and notail story is one of the greatest esports stories ever, dude lost MILLIONS after leaving his team like my step dad left to europe with my mom leaving me behind haha what a loser
Meh, with that team they werent gonna win anything. Notail can only play illusion carries, so fly (and s4) leaving was a good move for both since they got ana and topson, and fly still had some success with eg. although og had higher success obviously

Oh man, I wasn't expecting it, but I'm so happy to see that LTG getting his ass wooped made the list. Shout outs to the god Viscant for being a legend. That said, gotta agree with some of the comments here: WHERE WAS SONICFOX vs PERFECT LEGEND?! PL was talking SO much shit on Twitter, then got rekt in a first to 10. Then opened his mouth again and lost a BO5, ultimately going 13-0 in what was supposed to be a first to 10 series, all because he couldn't keep his mouth shut and hold an L. That should've made the top 5, just saying. I know Top 10's are the norm, but if you guys are having trouble narrowing things down I won't complain about a top 15 or top 20 vid.

The greatest part about Fly and OG is that he was replaced on the team by ... basically no one. The team coach and a kid that N0tail has been watching in Pubs with basically zero LAN experience.
Yes, in retrospect we know Topson is god tier, but think of how Fly must have felt; they replaced him and S4 with what everyone thought was a washed up has been and a complete newbie ... and crushed DOTA for 2 years because they bought into N0tails vision of how DOTA should be played. It's SO clear who was right.
The only saving grace is that at least he admits it. He says in interviews now that clearly he was the problem with the team, and him leaving made them better.

Trash talk is a strategy even in the traditional sport. Some coaches tell the player to trash talk or show some attitude to annoy the opponents so they could lost their composure.

One thing that I learned when playing amateur CS/MK/R6 tournaments is respect your opponent. The amount of guys that underestimated me and some guys that I TT teaches a lot

The thing about Viscant vs LTG is that Viscant wasn't an unknown scrub that came from nowhere. He was an OG monster that crossed swords with Justin Wong himself in the MvC2 era. A mainstay of the community. And yes, his best years of playing may have been left behind and when the moment happened he may have been that guy in tournaments everyone seems to know but you don't know why, but he once had the skills and, as we say in my country: those who had it, kept it. LTG was a fool to challenge him. Which is nothing new, LTG is a fool in general.

Bit late, but I was there for 2016 league. The overconfidence I never heard about, but the air was electric when we thought the giant that was skt1 was going to be taken down finally. Of course that didn’t happen, but it was hands down one of my favorite matches I’ve ever seen.

Two years in a row watching the SMITE World championship. Jade Dragons Jungler”Sam4Soccer2” made “This is my anime arc” like tweets. And underperformed two years in a row. Choking worlds.
Honorable mention: on one of the matches, when someone from liquid(i don't remember who) was left on 1v1 against boombl4, stewie said "He's shit" about boombl4 in the teamspeak. While liquid player won that clutch, tl still ended up loosing the series and boombl4 actually won the whole tournament with navi later. It was blast global 2020 btw

I think that was a 1v2 into 1v1 because boombl4 teamkilled his teammate. And it might have also been in the series Liquid won anyway. Liquid and Navi played 2 series at Blast Global and they went 1-1.

I'm extremely new to the world of esports but the Fly and N0tail issue at number 2 was interesting. It looks like, to me, that Fly was the weak link and holding them back. That's got to hurt.

the plane taunt from fnatic to v1 only to turn around and lose masters to Sen to a team flash in valorant is pretty good.
They didn't get destroyed losing in 2 overtimes and another 13 11 is very competitive. Plus the taunt was to v1 who actually did go home after that plus every player from v1 did the cat taunt during the entry, even the coach.
