I have Aspergers and I can for sure say that Reacher is on the spectrum because I recognize so much of his mannerisms in me

Most likely he has PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified). This is someone who has some symptoms of Autism, but not enough for a full ASD diagnosis. Reacher has some social adaptation issues, narrow interests, and a fixation on routines. He doesn’t have problems with eye contact, sensitivity to noise or light, language delays, or repetitive behaviors. Honestly, he has some of the Hollywood Autism cliches.

Reacher books(and the adaptations) are fun entertainment, but keep in mind that they’re mostly from the 90s and 2000s written by a British guy who very much wrote what he thought would sell.
I'm pretty sure Lee Childs has said in interviews that he was surprised that more people weren't put off by how unrealistic Jack Reacher is -- he's a giant who is absurdly jacked, but he's also super quick, has unbelievable situational awareness and recall, etc., so he's basically a unicorn or a male Mary Sue. Childs said he wrote Reacher to be larger than life, and that a lot of it was inspired by the legends of American military men. If you just accept that Reacher is gifted in everything but human interaction and personal relationships, the series gets a lot more fun.
@@oregonchick76 I know this is an older post but I just stumbled on this FNG reviews and am a huge Lee Childs fanboy. He also has Reacher telling time in his head down to the minute!
@donculver8671 I love it. I think it makes the character so much fun because he has so dang many useful skills. If musicians can have perfect pitch, why shouldn't Reacher have perfect time? That really would come in handy!

@@JeremyBell Fill in lore....there is over a dozen books the series is based on. You get to hear his own inner thoughts and know quite a bit about his past and experience.
Guys is just a series, not meant to be taken as seriously as something like Seal Team for example. It’s the basic strong jacked hero story who kicks ass that’s all

Reacher is a lot of fun. The way I think about it is that it's a modern and more down to earth take on Superman. A man's fantasy, essentially. When I look at it that way, I just let my brain go. And it's fine. But then, Superman was never portrayed as particularly intelligent.
Looking forward to more Reacher and Seal Team.

Another fun video! here are a few observations: Reacher definitely has some Rain Man in him, because the Cruise Reacher established he basically has a photographic memory (e.g. remembering the serial number on a gun); Abel TRT is LITERALLY STEROIDS; and finally, don't you SF guys have any commentary about SF tactics clearing flirty, half naked women from hotel rooms (e.g. I have to think the SF move is NOT to sleep on the floor).
I think some people forget that shows are supposed to be fun and entertaining, not a video to review someone's tactics. Thanks for the reaction
Use some self-awareness and take your own advice. They hardly talked about tactics. Most of the video is just them providing commentary for entertainment. They even said they like the show overall.

im with you guys... watching for entertainment purposes only. however, i think you'd have more to critique in season 2. he works with his old crew who's motto is, "NO ONE MESSES WITH THE SPECIAL INVESTIGATORS!!!" Check it out.

Echo III might be a decent show, I enjoyed it. It's an Apple show that ran for one season (the story wraps up in that season). It's based around a woman who gets kidnapped on the Colombia/Venezuela border, HRT rescue attempt goes bad, etc. I was impressed with it's grounded approach and realism.
Couldn't watch the show because how it was filmed. Camera zoomed in too much and shaking all the time.

No GB I ever saw, and I worked with plenty, were big enough to be Reacher. Most were 5'10" or so stout and fit or lith and fit. I also never heard any of them call themselves X-GBs. Their egos were way too big. Usually GB was in the first 3 sentences when you meet one. I do like the Buffalo Trace on the table though.
I never cared for the horrible acting, so I stopped watching it. That being said, I don't watch your show for the actual movie review, I watch it for all of your, mostly uncensored, hilarious comments!!! Hooooah!

Ancient cold war 18delta here. Doc Harris. I like the reacher show, but they gotta lose that "Sherlock Holmes" calculations crap. No real operator flows like that. "The moon would've been lower 2wks ago making this spot darker" or weather conditions 1wk ago the barometric pressure combined with crosswinds from the south, south east is why the ambassador is still alive or it wouldve been a headshot instead of a shoulder wound" WTF?! The fight scenes are pretty good, storylines pretty good. But the Sherlock Holmes thing has to go. Whomever the series SF consultant is must be losing their mind with the show writers insisting on that shit. But hey, at the end of the day, it's their circus and the consult check clears. 🤠😎👊🏾👍🏾😜🤪🤣
FWIW, many in the autistic community (including me) believe Reacher presents autistically, as does Neagly.
As for Reacher knowing things he shouldn't know, that's just part of the Gary Stu narrative - a storyline in which the hero is superhuman and lacks meaningful flaws. You are right to call it out, but that entire genre depends on this archetype. Reacher is always going to be a Gary Stu, no matter how unrealistic that is.
BTW, my favorite part of your reaction videos is where you tear things apart and show how wrong they are from your perspective. Keep it up! (Season 2 has more squad tactics, but even then it is super light and focused almost exclusively on the Gary Stu.)

I just recently watched an old episode of FNG Academy and what the hell happened man. This channel was meant for helping future sf guys and bettering yourself and your community. Now it’s beers and breakdowns. Hey let’s all drink, sit and watch videos of actors pretending to do our old job…what happened dude. Beers and breakdown needs to go man. Realistic… maybe not, but for story telling you have to move it along and having everything explained this quickly saves having the “crime scene reconstruction team” having to do their thing. This is why every cop or superhero show needs a hacker. It moves things along. I appreciate and respect your perspective but this isn’t a how-to video. It’s just entertaining AF.

I know you obviously don’t know me, but you know what our government does. Do you think I should just stay out stay hard or go in they’re going to allow waiver for my tattoos. I should also know I tried joining years ago multiple times never worked with my tattoo now they don’t give a fuck.
