The civ theme is beautiful
It is Armenians theme... Because if you look at top right you could see Armenian logo... Or whatever u call that
@@AmirMishel Wrong. MikeEmpires is playing as the Armenians, but the Monaspa belong to his ally, which is Georgian. And he has the correct theme in the video.
Did anyone else skip straight ahead to see the Leitis and Keshik matchups?
Keshiks are extremely cost-effective so it's shocking to see a new cavalry UU beat them on equal resources.
Yep ... and they won vs Boyars too ...
Remember, they occasionally weaken as their numbers dwindle
@@Jerome...I actually don't like how Monaspa beat Boyar. Boyar is supposed to be heavily armoured cavalry or basically Teutonic knights on horses. Wild.
edit: Also I would take the comparison to Keshik with a grain of salt, since it doesn't include the fact that Keshik generate gold in this video demo.
Total resources not equal resources
Lost to Samurai, War Elephant, Mameluke, Teutonic Knight, Kamayuk, Genoese Crossbowman, Leitis (no relics), Flaming Camel, Urumi Swordsman, and Imperial Camel Rider (10 out of 58, but Missionaries and Flaming Camels don't really count).
Costs less than a Steppe Lancer. But they lost to Leiciai, so they're fine.
Also remember, they occasionally weaken as their numbers dwindle
FLAMING CAMELS COUNT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🐪🐪🐪🐪🐪🐪🐪🐪
@@ordinaryrat I think the way to use flaming camels is to mix them into a regular battle on no-attack stance, so that as many units are next to them as possible when they blow up. Unless you're lucky enough to catch units in line formation, which melee units never will be in these videos
Every melee unit aside the Cataphract and War Elephant loses to the Teutonic Knight.
@@georgeprchal3924what about leitis?
They have a lot going on beside being a "mass glass cannon" type unit. 8 armor for a unit like that seems a bit random to me but it's what gives them the edge in those melee match-ups.
We see more and more AoM mechanics here. First ox carts from Norse. Now we see Fenrir wolf myth unit trait here although I didnt see these guys getting particularly stronger...
The Monaspa does it better- the Fenrir was just too expensive, large, and late in the game to make it work.
They seem perfectly balanced, if you keep them from making a big ball you would be absolutely fine
Their gold price is really low so it's easy to make a big ball
Very interesting unit. 🙌🏻 I like the fact it has high attack and medium armor however hp is low for a heavy cavalry. Also bonus is unusual. Very balanced unit in my opinion. 👌🏻
It is meant to counter melee units which don't have a bonus against cavalry, but only when you have them in big numbers. That also means you can't just split them and fight on multiple fronts at the same time unless you have enough of them or if you are ready to not use its bonus.
@@Hardcore_Remixer they can be used separately because they are still still strong unit without max +4 bonus attack. Halberdier seems is only good answer, other than that they shred infantry and cavalry.
@@Asterix958 Halberdier, Camels and Arbalester or other archers if you can protect them well enough. Mosaca seems more like a weaker and cheaper Boyar which does extra damage when in big numbers. Cav Archers should also make for a decent answer.
@@Hardcore_Remixer you usually wanted to mixed in some of them in your knight army in castle age and then transitioned or just do both. They were pretty cheap anyways.
Well they are medium cav
A little idea for a follow up video perhaps. A chart showing which unique unit beat the most other unique units in these videos that you do. That way, like these showoff videos, you can see which one does better than other unique units.
That's a good idea
They beat Boyars at equal cost?
Seems perfectly balanced to me 🙃
Why are they just straight up better than Boyar on a scenario where the Boyars should shine?
Been playing Georgians a lot. Playing one tc with fortified churches. If you get a forward castle on a hill you just go all in Monaspa. Feels too strong. Need to lose 1 melee armor or some attack. Dont touch the cost or creation time since thats kinda their thing.
O Leicia de elite totalmente atualizado, e com todas as relíquias que dão bônus de ataque, então ganham de todas as cavalarias pesadas do jogo? Ou perdem só pro elefantes de guerra persas?
I think it will need a slight cost nerf, but good that it ships like this so we can have fun with it for the first weeks or months.
FLAMING CAMELS ARE BEST COUNTER
Cataphracts getting clowned on by yet another Unit. Rip
Historically accurate
The only thing i took from this video was that the viper was right about urumis
Yeah urumi just too op
Leitis are 🔥
Wait, if the new armenian composite bowman has great matchup against chu ko nu and rattan archer, which are anti anti archer archers, that mean they are the anti anti anti archer archer?
No, anti anti anti archer archer archer
VTF, why did only 15 Centurions participate in the battle?
Glad they die to TKs. Oh and in this mid sized battle they don't keep their insane attack to counter the TKs insane armour, and the TKs eventually have more attack than them.
Urumi power ✊
On one hand, these tests are the exact situation Monaspas are best at. On the other hand, they are still clearly very strong. O the third hand, Georgians are otherwise lacking in powerhouse units.
Irumi swordsman won 😮😮😮
Viper was right 😂😂
They are probably a bit too strong. I think their armor should just be reduced by 1. Right now they have nearly as much armor as boyards.
You should always give Leitis at least 2 relics to make it realistic
@14:30, that was hilarious!
so persian elephants are defensive infantry?
They lost to flaming camels 😂
I think this unit will need a nerf. I hope they do it by lowering their base attack and increasing their mass effect. For example maybe instead of 14+8, maybe 12+10 for fully massed Monaspa.
expect it to be nerfed fast
The bug where they got bonus damage was fixed but they still haven't been nerfed.
The attack speed of boyers is too slow
With the Monaspa, I think this test should've been done with double population. I.E. still equal total resources, but roughly twice the number of units on both sides. This is due to how the Monaspa's mechanic works.
They already had their proximity bonus maxed out so I doubt increasing the numbers would have changed the results.
They'd keep it for longer after taking losses.
But the question is how much resources would be typical to use.
Keshik 0 dmg :(
I think this unit really needs their melee armor nerfed or pierce armor nerf. That's ridiculous for how cheap they are
wayyy too cheap, 75food and 55gold would be better
That’s the wrong direction as it’s doesn’t really change the fact that Monaspa quickly snowball which is probably why the Devs decided to make them require 7 adjacent Monaspa units to get the benefit of one attack as well as increase their training time.
Of course the unique unit didn’t really help them until recent buffs but still, adding a marginal amount of resources wouldn’t have change that as you would just need about 21 Units to get +4 attack compared to now needing 29 to get the full benefit.
Conclusion: centurion is such a bad and overpriced unit.
It's not meant to be used en masse, but a small number to buff legios
wtf are you talking about boyars are also losing the melee fight against this how centurions supposed to win?
too cheap
nerf them.
No, counter them. Just like the Urumi Swordsmen with the archers. Did you not notice Mosapa's high melee armor? What other hint do you need to use camels and archers with pikes in front?
Yeah, everyone thought Urumi Swordsmen would be OP, based on how well they do in videos like this which are just head-on fights in a vacuum. But in practice, Dravidians weren't OP because you can't just look at a unique unit without the context of the rest of the civ's kit. Many units perform very differently in practice compared to test scenarios like this.
@@Hardcore_Remixer Honestly they need a nerf to the base pierce armor by 1. The reason why Urumi suffers against archer is due to their slow speed of infantry, but Manaspa is cavalry with 2 base pierce armor, making them good at dealing with archer.
@@TheBikeOnTheMoonthey still die to pikes, and way yarder than knights
They still lose to cav archers
They still lose to camels
They still lose ton monks, in early CA
@@matteodumond3125 Not good enough. Knights lose to a lot of things while also losing to all the things you just mentioned. Monaspas lost 10 out of 58 fights here. That is overpowered.
Leitis and Monaspas are needed to be nerfed they are both ridiculous units
