- This is the demo for Darkglass Electronics's new Hyper Luminal Compressor.
According to Darkglass :
The Hyper Luminal Compressor features the first hybrid design in a compressor pedal: an analog VCA controlled by a digital side-chain allowed us to capture and include the characters of some of the most legendary compressors in history while keeping the signal path completely analog.

That jam on the beginning of this video was incredible! Great playing and composition!
Cheers Jay!
Super tone and licks.I just ordered one.
Top level stuff as always from you, Chris
Cheers guys!
Killer demo bro!! Always to the point!
Awesome as usual 😎🙌
Thanks a lot Jeff!
Yessss 💪🏻 You make that Duvoisin sing bro! 🔥
Thanks a lot David!
awesome player!
Great demo, bro!!
Glad you dig it Erik!
Your clean tone is so darn crisp and nice - lovely! :)
This is one of the best demos I've seen of this pedal so far. Personally I like the over compressed sounds for demos so the pedal can really be heard, awesome stuff Chris!
Cheers Jack! Glad you dig it ;)
Hi Chris. I'm not sure if you will see this, but I have a question. I have the KMA tyler delux splitting the signal. I have the hyper luminal on the low. I am finding I hat the compressor knob on max to get it to kick it. Is that what you would expect? Or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for video and all your help over the years. Paul 🎸
How is the feel pressing the metal contacts? Is it hard? I don't want to have a hard time changing my compression ratio because of that.
Hey there, if you have it on a surface it's not. So if you have it on a pedal board you won't struggle
What's the settings at the end for B7K ? It is the warwick that made more growl or do I need to put more midrange with my dingwall ?
Hey Francois, I think it's mostly up to the sound of the bass itself. In general I tend to use kind of a lower blend ratio and increase the drive level-gain.
@@ChrisKollias Oh okay thanks I will try ^^
How I get bass sound like your Fender Squier Classic Vibe 60s Jazz Bass (Finger style) that's so funky !!. I have Fender jazz bass japan 60s but its sound doesn't like your bass.
Hey there! Glad you like it! I just have it plugged straight to the audio interface. It's equipped with EMG J pickups.
@@ChrisKollias I have a Fender Elite Jazz Bass that cost 2200$ and it doesn't sound even close to yours!! how do you make it sound so good??
@@johnraspberry2269 Hey John! That's the sound of the bass! When I tried this one for the first time I thought it was really good. After comparing it with some other jazz basses I realized I hit the jackpot haha .The EMG pickups set also elevated it compared to the stock ones.
Why put the power adapter jack in front of the input? MXR does that too, is awkward for me bc I want cords running back out of the way, not under foot. Am I missing some novel way to organize pedals/pedalboards and cords? Admittedly a pedals/pedalboard newbie here...
Well it's up to the circuit/design of the pedal. Even at that position you just have the angled power cable and turn it towards the gap between the rails of the pedal board.
The bypass suck a bit of tone.
