How on earth can you justity treating an elderly lady with dementia with such contempt. So basically, Loveland P.D. hires rapists, and elderly women abusers. Yet some online training is the best the chief can can up with. I say they have a leadership and personnel problem. Every officer at that dept should be investigated. Who the hell knows what they have all been allowed to cover up and get away with.
Replace the whole lot there's no fixing this!!! The officers are very aggressive!! I leave work at 3am & Everytime I have do deal with these guys they are so ready for any reason to let loose. I can't count how many times I've had to defuse the situation!!! That Austin drew a gun no hesitation after I told him that I had some chef knife's in a zipped up bag. I LITERALLY HAD TO TELL HIM TO CALM DOWN!!!!!

She has dementia and clearly didn’t know that she had done anything wrong. She had “shoplifted” (accidentally) from Walmart, but returned the items and offered to pay when she realized her mistake. Then she went out and was picking flowers in a field when the arrest took place. If you know anyone with dementia or Alzheimer’s and have seen what those illnesses can do, then you would realize that your urging her to “comply and not walk away” is ridiculous. Understandably, you do not recognize how mental illness is at play here because (I assume by your comment) that you have no training with regard to mental illness... but don’t you think a cop should probably pick up on something like this? Do you think cops should be able to identify mental illness, or would you rather they brutalize people who don’t even know they’ve done anything wrong?
