I bet kids love this. In my experience working in schools, summer camps, daycare, etc, kids love simple stuff like this. Adults think they want Disney magic, but stuff like this gets them everytime.
The orange rainbow shapes that are the same length but look different happens because the top one becomes thicker which gives the illusion that it is shorter in length
6:14 this illusion works because the left side of the shapes are angled where the top is left of the bottom. Looking at the left side of both shapes, the top one is shifted slightly compared to the bottom one, so it is shifted the same way on the right side. Kind of obvious but the confusing part is that usually shapes that are the same size have sides that fit when put together. Because the shapes are curved and the sides are angled, it does not have this property because they do not fit on a grid
It's not "kind of obvious" lol. I kept reading your explanation over and over, but it's still confusing. I mean I'm certainly not a great explainer either, as in it requires another 'on the spectrum' type to understand what I'm saying. If not, it just sounds like I'm speaking in riddles...which makes no sense, but that's what I've been told.
@@Chalor. to simplify, if you make an invisible line and alone the top left corner vertically with the top left corner of the block below it, you would see they're the same size. It's misleading to line up the edges because that means that both shapes technically have a different "starting point" horizontally. The bottom one "starts" further right off the "start" of the top one, thus looking longer by the same amount that it is offset to the right from the "start point" of the block above it. Does that make more sense?
And the starflyer was fun too! You get like 10% off on drinks at the starflyer bar after you ride and letmetellyouuuuuu.... you need it after being up that high
I like the NORMAL regular swing ride. I will NEVER EVER get on THAT sort of contraption!! 1:52 The 2 home boys that walk past from left to right in the back ground: The one in the cap is clearly trying to talk to hes friend with the dreads. Though the friend with the dreads is CLEARLY trying to talk on his phone!!!! LMAO!!!!!! X'- D
That was absolutely fantastic!! I love how people just helped you but that mirror room was like a scene from the Matrix but with multiple Carpetbaggers 😮 The kaleidoscope effect was awesome too ❤️
Those holograms at 18:00 remind me of the hologram stores in the malls where they used to sell those. I've forgotten all about them and I recall one just like that microscope but it was a telescope and you could see planets and stars.
I know its unrelated but, your so lucky that your allowed to walk in many public places AND still in summer like heat. While where I am I'm freezing like hell and still wearing mask anywhere I go :C
Museum of Illusions just opened a location in Philadelphia, PA! When I originally saw this video, I wanted so badly to go see it in Orlando. Now, I don't have to go all the way to Florida to experience it! From what I hear, some of the illusions are "Philly-based" - like instead of Salvador Dali, it's Ben Franklin whose eyes follow you and the upside-down illusion is in a Philly diner. Looking forward to experiencing it for myself.
I love your channel man, I was thinking about your channel a few days ago, about the video a plug almost burned your place down, because it happened to a friend
most were seen before illusions but the first one you said blew your mind (rainbow shaped 1) was crazy! in the mirror room about 4 "mirrors" back 1 jacob was waving with no camera (he also had black eyes)! anyone else notice this?
They should've printed their logo on the wall in reverse, so it would be readable in the photos. While your in Orlando --- is the Tupperware exhibit open again?
6:35 It's probably because they are curved. Also, I see when you're switching the measuring thingy back and forth to each one, you're moving it in a sideways direction.
10:20 Plenty of two-headed or two-faced something or others on this channel, so it was only a matter of time before we got a Siamese Carpetbagger. It should be on display at a Ripley's.
6:13 It's all due to the top and bottom curved surfaces being different lengths. You take two identical curved rectangles, and have at least one side that has an angled line that's not parallel to the other. Once you connect the sides, the space in between them is going to be different on the top compared to the bottom. Then when you set one on top of the other (while keeping one side of both directly on top of the other), it gives the illusion one is longer. So you can recreate this just like in the video where the sides angle out, or you can do it where the sides angle inwards. Draw the image on a piece of paper, fold it over and cut it out to have two identical pieces. I'm not the best at explaining things, but saw how others were doing it, and it was just so confusing. Hope this helps out a few other "special" types of individuals like myself 😉
I ask how many people give you a 👍and don't look at much of your videos? I'm one been getting you 👍for over a year and I may look at 3 to 5 minutes of the video

I'm an adult and even I love it!
Every time you interact with the employee it makes me smile. its so wholesome and it brings me joy
Enjoyed seeing you at the museum Jacob, but would enjoy even more seeing you on that swing, you know eventually you’ll do it 🤗
no
this is such a creepy comment
@@t.5586 explain please ?
Huge shoutout to your friend who recorded for you! Such a pure soul!
That was truly amazing. It reminded me of the 70’s when I was doing things that I shouldn’t have. ☺️ Thank you for the trip.
I remember when that was the skeleton museum, so I was curious to see what the new museum was all about. Thanks for visiting!
If there was a Guinness record for most vortex tunnels visited, I think you would hold it, Jacob.
"OMG I even hate looking at it" - Carpetbagger
Perfect words for a museum of illusions
I could never understand 6:40, but it is probably similar to how the outside lane of a track in longer than the inside lane.
That staff was a+ you could tell they enjoyed working there!
More scared to get fired on the spot
Bless the guy who works there that participated with so many of these with you!

I haven't watched Carpetbagger videos for a good long while? So a bunch of newer videos I haven't seen built up. Time to binge out on Carpetbagger.
I was there in November 2021. My 4 year old was terrified of the mirror room. Cried about it for days after. Def worth the visit though.
My favourite country is America because of all of the attractions and it's always sunny
I love these types of museums. Great video as always, Jacob!
check out this one from Dubai Museum of Illusions ua-cam.com/video/KBPqATNu91c/v-deo.html
The warm weather agrees with you Carpetbagger ☀️😎☀️
Fun video! We have this in Chicago too, but this one looks a lot better.
I have to admit that this was a fun one.
Hi Jacob, hope your daughter appreciates just how COOL, her dad is .🥶.
Her: Pretend you’ve having a Christmas seance.

Orlando is so different when I was child growing up there. I miss Florida
They guy who helped was so kind

6:37 it’s easy. Upper side is longer then the bottom side. That’s why the other one seems longer, because you put the long side to the short one.
Jacob’s a very good actor climbing up that wall 😂😂😂
I legitimately got confused when I got the thumbnail notification, took me turning my phone to realize where the ground was lmao
Went there this past Thanksgiving it was fun got some great pics
I went to this place before except for the one in NYC.. so much fun!
My brain is all over the place from these illusions Jacob the carpetbagger
SOMEDAY I WANT TO GO THERE!!
So beyond cool! I couldn't look at the thing that looked like you were standing on top of a sewer tunnel too realistic!
The Museum of Illusions is a place that I want to go to. They poses you made are funny and made me laugh. Have a great time Jake!
You will like the one from Dubai too, check this out ua-cam.com/video/KBPqATNu91c/v-deo.html
That was a mind trip.
The one ay 19:23 translates super well to camera. I was actually stumped until you pushed in super close
That swing height is insane!
2:23 Noticed that guy in black 3:52 i see the camera and you to the right. That museum is awsome for many i think
Hello I’ve been watching you for about a year it so awesome that you go to places I want to go but could never go
What an amazing place. I love things like this.
You know, Jake, I actually thought you were climbing up a wall there! I forgot it was just the floor! 😂
The orange triangle black box one is a trick of mirrors. Half of the shape is placed on a mirror, casting the allusion that it is full
That's awesome that worked on video like we were there with you
When you were in the Infinity Room, my 5 year old said ,” That’s a lot of Carpet baggers!” 😂😂
Those holograms at 18:00 remind me of the hologram stores in the malls where they used to sell those. I've forgotten all about them and I recall one just like that microscope but it was a telescope and you could see planets and stars.
Oh man, I do think I remember seeing these in the mall at one point
I know its unrelated but, your so lucky that your allowed to walk in many public places AND still in summer like heat. While where I am I'm freezing like hell and still wearing mask anywhere I go :C
Five carpetbaggers at one table what else is next Jacob nice video !!!!
Oh man, I love these shows.
You've shattered my perception and my whole world !
Is my life really real or am I just an illusion to someone else?!

You were down here and I didn't even know it, I almost went to the museum of illusions but instead I went to Ripley's believe it or not
I love your channel man, I was thinking about your channel a few days ago, about the video a plug almost burned your place down, because it happened to a friend

It’s the dark and light orange color the change in color and slight perception / position change
If memory serves, in Gaston Leroux's original novel, the Phantom of the Opera had a torture chamber, which was a hexagonal room covered in mirrors.
very cool place thanks for sharing
That was one freaky video 📹, awesome 👌🆒️👏😎😄.
It’s a very educational museum 🥸
Wow great job Jacob love it
I really enjoyed this, really good content

My brain died lol. This was great Jacob ty!!
Said those colours perfectly but understand the illusion and confusion lol
Would think that guy with the cigarette is popcorn Sutton from moonshiners 😂
Oh man that was really neat!

Gatlinburgs Ferris Wheel is pretty hot to in Sevierville and behind that pizza. But they close down early.!. Y'all.
5:03 those are nuts lol
That Was Dope!
Jacob are you using trick photography 🤣🤣🤣
ive been to one of these in britain
I read the title wrong at first. Which is why I was so damn confused of why the museum of Illinois was in Florida
