NuPhy keyboards look amazing and have 2.4G wireless which I miss the most in Keychrons. If they were sold in the full 100% layout it would be an instant buy for me. Since they are not, I'll stay with my Keychron K5 SE. Thanks for the video :)
@@JosephKim I prefer blue, but honestly didn't had a chance to work with brown switches for a longer time, so I might check them in near future. @@JosephKim I hope that thanks to your videos (and others as well) producers will notice that there's some demand for full size quality low-profile mechanical keyboards
This review was so helpful to me in making some decisions on this keyboard - and I already had those Shiokaze caps in my cart! Wishing the wisteria switches were available pre-loaded, but I'll have to get those separately later. Thank you for the info!
I just bought the air96. I love it. I have the red switches but I'm just about to get the wisteria as well. I'm at uni so I'm typing a lot and it's making it a more enjoyable experience
Amazing video because alot of the problems addressed were fixed with the V2. - Dedicated Pause/Play - Wired/2.4GHz/Bluetooth - Wireless Stutter I know what keyboard i am buying!
Great review! I started my mechanical keyboard journey wth the MX Keys Mechanical, but now I'm looking for something that fits in my bag to take to work. Seems like the Air96 may fit the bill.
Greate video. I actually like the 96% layout because it fits perfectly in my backpack. My company does not have permanent seating and they only have the Gold Touch keyboards which I'm not a fan of, so this keyboard is great for me.
@@JosephKim Goldtouch keyboard is the corporate keyboard just like Blackberry used to be the corporate cell phone. Hopefully Goldtouch will suffer the same fate.
Awesome review Joseph. I'm looking to make that jump as well, to a low profile mechanical keyboard. But anything less than a full size keyboard seems too far of a leap. Did you continue to use the Nuphy keyboard, or did you go back to the Keychron keyboard. I was also wondering if it help touch typing by placing some raised decal sticker on the arrow or numpad keys to tell the difference. I'm still sitting on the fence about 96% or going down the scale and purchasing a numpad separately. What would your thoughts be ? Cheers!
@@JosephKim Awesome ! I went with Nuphy's Air75 v2, thinking I'd rather miss the numpad than to have it there all squashed up and not use it. Are you planning on reviewing the numpad as well ? I'd be really interested to know what your thoughts are.
Very cool, but the main problem for me is that there isn't any gap between the F1 row key's. I'm using an Apple magic 2 keyboard and i really want to go with a mechanical one. But it's hard to find the right one. The KeyChron comes closest for me. Though it doesn't have any media controls. Which i also use quite a lot.
@@JosephKim It's really a hard search for Mac users to be honest. I mean, not having media key's isn't really a dealbreaker. But it's nice to have. For me, response time/reaction and the feeling of typing (not sure how to explain) are more important. I guess the brown or red switches would be nice for me. I guess i'll just have to try one and see how it feels. 🙂
There are a number of threads on this topic. The consensus is it's not gonna happen as Air96 was released just a bit ago (earlier this year), while Air75 V1 was already a couple of years old. I'm also considering getting Air96 not waiting for the update.
I got a keychron K4 and wanted low profile keys so the nuphy shine through fits on k4! Only missing is the light button but I just put a random scissor key on it lol. otherwise I love the nuphy keycaps and its color variations it comes with.
I received my Nuphy Air96 V2 3 days ago and I can't adapt to the layout of the keyboard. I've always used full size non-compact keyboadrs. Not sure if I made the right call by choosing this Nuphy keyboard.
I wonder if you could install regular height keycaps on a NuPhy keyboard? Not even sure if I really wanted to do that, just wondering.. maybe it could be nice I mean it's already pretty low-profile
I prefer to have a full layout if I can't have the numberpad detached somehow. I use Home, End, Page up and down quite often, and can't adapt to alternative layout too well.
I love the way u edit your video. it's so organized yet feels comforting and inviting!
Thank you so much! You made my day :)
Your review of the MX Keys Mechanical led me to get some MX Keys for myself and my partner. MX Keys have been awesome so thank you for your insight.
I'm pleased! :)

There are quite a few mechanical keyboards with Mac compatibilities. The key typing on mechanical ones are quite satisfying as it is more tactile.
Any idea if the NuPhy Air96 will get a V2 upgrade soon, like the Air 75? The QMK/VIA and other upgrades the Air 75 V2 got are pretty significant.
