    I've never had a better keyboard than the Air75. Low profile keyboards work fantastically on my lap and the keycaps don't snag on my pack when I travel with it. I just wish the keycaps weren't shaped so that you can't tell how they should be oriented by feel. I'm totally blind and have apparently put some keys on in the correct spots but turned the wrong way after replacing some brown switches with red ones. I like brown switches under the character keys and reds under arrow, function and other special keys. Keep on doing those wonderful reviews. I'll be keeping an ear out for you.

    At the 6-min mark there is mention of the amount of force required to activate the switches - so between these two, which would require more force on the keys?

    • @semiprotech
      @semiprotech  Рік тому +1

      With both of them, you have a choice of which switches you want. So in either case you can select switches that require more or less actuation force. There are slight differences between low and high profile, for example Gateron low profile red switches have an actuation force of 50gf and gateron regular profile G Pro reds have an actuation force of 45gf (but longer travel). So if they both had red switches, the low profile has slightly higher force required. But it really depends on the switch that you choose and NuPhy provides the specs for each option.

    I intend to buy the Air 75. From your perspective, how is the Air typing feel compare to the Halo using linear sưitches? I like linear switches on normal profile keyboard but I'm afraid it won't feel the same on low profile keyboard since the shorter travel distance. Should I go for the tactile switches ínstead?

    I just received Halo96. First impression - I was surprised how small it actually is. It's like the keycaps feel like miniatures of keys, and they are really squeezed together, where I, having medium sized hands, have a bit of trouble typing. I'm an amateur in the fileld - Are these key caps some kind of a standard size for the tall ones, or are these smaller? Is there a way to compare? I kind of went for it for the 'nostaglic' feel. It kind of reminds me of my old Amiga. :) The key caps on that one were definitely bigger. Anyway I love the look of it. Just wish it was a bit bigger. I guess a 100% keyboard from Nuphy would be perfect for me.

    The most problem of the NuPhy design is the keys everywhere on the panel. Somehow it's ok for 75, (fn layer is terrible), but for 96 its' totally mess. Moreover it's is really situation on market, that 96 format is most popular than tkl? really?
    Or may by it's a special feature that you can reassign only 10-11 keys, that you have a lot of unassignable keys, or another issue with software?
    I think they need to make the convenient keyboard for software developer to obtain a good soft )))
    But we must pay tribute that their merit is that new low-profile switches from gaterons appear on the market.

The fact that shipping speed to the US was a lot faster than I expected, makes me want to go back to NuPhy again for another keyboard in the future. @semiprotech  Рік тому +2

      Glad you're liking it! I've tried two different PBT shine-through sets on the Halo96. If you're a Mac user, unfortunately neither one comes with Mac-specific keycaps, but they both looked nice. The set I'm currently using is the Drop Skylight OEM profile set: drop.com/buy/drop-skylight-series-keycap-set?defaultSelectionIds=970401
      I've also used the Akko ASA profile set from amazon: amzn.to/3Nt7r0v. The Akko set is of course taller with the ASA profile and I found them just a touch too tall for my liking, but they have a little more texture than the Drop set. The Drop set more closely matches the profile of the provided NuPhy keycaps so I was able to keep a couple of the colored caps mixed in with them.
