When I was twelve, I saw a computer that I really wanted. My dad bought it and said that I can have it now and pay him back with chores over time. This taught me the lesson that I can have anything I want now and worry about the consequences of paying it off later. Guess where I was at 20. In credit card debt, that’s where. The behaviors that we model for our children have tremendous impact on their future.

Love these videos. Thank you Dave. Applying your principles I'll be debt free later this year. No more impulse purchases. No more leased cars. No more credit card swiping.
Right on Dave. Giving, in my opinion, is one of the number one ways to build wealth. Writing your goals out on paper is another great way to build wealth! “Live on less than you make!”

The one goal I had the best success with this year was curbing my shopping habits. I've only been shopping 5 times this entire year. I used to go shopping more than in a month. I definitely think I made progress.
I’m 22 and taking this all in !!! Next year I want to be saving 5000+ a month nothing less. I am changing the way I spend starting today. I am going to calculate my debt, and budget while also having a goal of how much I want to save monthly, thank you Dave Ramsey !

Managing Money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times, while orders tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too.
To be a successful business owner and investor, you have to be emotionally neutral to winning and losing. Winning and losing are just part of the game. Risk comes from not knowing what you are doing.

As a non-American, I have a hard time understanding America's addiction to cars. Really. Because if you look at cars objectively, cars are kinda sorta of a financial black hole.
Yup, its almost like the society tells them that they need a good car to be worthy. It's sad, I rather eat well and drive a cheap normal car instead of having a BMW or a super car and balding because of not having financial stability.
+An. S. Goodness, do I hate that. I mean, if advertising tells you to jump off a cliff, would you do it? I hate it when people get brainwashed into thinking you need this or that in order to be "worthy". It is manufactured need and nothing more. People should stop behaving like drones.

I’m 52 years old and never had a credit card. I own my home outright since I was 40yrs old by paying the capital and interest. I used to do old houses up and sell for a profit then move on to the next. Good for you guys! People like to use the 'healthy food is too expensive' excuse for their terrible diets, but in reality, it doesn't have to be and can even be cheaper (or at least even out).
SouthernFried87 I wouldn't consider granola bars, fruit cups and sandwiches healthy. Sure it's healthier than a burger every day for lunch, but you should buy fresh fruit... grapes, bananas, pineapple, apples... they are usually cheap when bought unprepared and in season. Try making wraps or salads instead of sandwiches. Make grilled chicken and veggies instead of sandwiches. Around the same price but better for you.
Yea Ive noticed I'm eating healthier as well and my skin has been looking brighter as I've gotten compliments . Budgeting has caused me to think about each grocery item I buy. I buy meat and eggs as these are important to my health, but I'm very particular about avoiding antibiotics and added hormones. I also buy beans, rice, pasta, oatmeal, fruits, veggies, seeds (allergic to nuts). Very rarely do I need to buy cooking oil or peanut butter as these last a long time for me. I'm not buying any junk food (except $1 peppermint discs and Popcorners!) because junk food technically is not a need. I've been spending like $15 dollars per week on groceries- no more than $20 tax and everything. Since everything doesn't run out at the same time, I don't have to rebuy every category each week.

Never been In debt because my parents listened to you and now so do I. Only 20 can't wait to see where I can be in a short time
When I was twelve, I saw a computer that I really wanted. My dad bought it and said that I can have it now and pay him back with chores over time. This taught me the lesson that I can have anything I want now and worry about the consequences of paying it off later. Guess where I was at 20. In credit card debt, that’s where.
The behaviors that we model for our children have tremendous impact on their future.

this man just bullied me into saving my money, thankyou 😔
How’s it going for you? 😉
Im 65 yrs old. Ive never bounced a check in my life ! Ive never balanced my check book ! Never had a budget. Im a dairy farmer and have been for 40 years. I have had operating loans. Its a valuable tool in farming ! Ive learned early on..... save money !!!!!!! Spend money on things you only " need " !!! Everything else follows !
"Quit spending like you are in congress"
I am so appropriating this.

Good healthy Food is my #1 priority. I’ think of it as preemptive healthcare. It’s been my priority since I was 16 and through ups and down. Food is important.
Best thing that ever happened to me, financially, is my dad gave me Dave’s book when I was 18-19.
Growing up, none of the adults around me knew how to be good with money. Now most of them are broke and living on the edge. Watching this made me feel good and sad. Could've started sooner than I should!
“I met Him on the way up, I got to know Him on the way down” ...that was so powerful even Dave paused for a moment to feel what he just said.
Thank you for helping me change my life and my family's lives. You are a hero, sir. Thank you for being bold enough to tell the truth.
It really isnt hard, the hard part is starting
Thank you Dave for giving people the tools to live like no one else
A year ago i was broke and eagerly waiting for paychecks so i would actually have money for a week
In debt and paying it down but still buying STUFF, yeah not gonna work
Then i met a girl, she loved to listen to your show, even though it aired while she was sleeping
She would not stop talking about you so i looked at your channel
ONE year later, I have 2 debts left and $3500 set aside
why do i have so much set aside when i still have debt?
Well I am marrying that girl in one month and she is paying for the wedding, so i am paying for the honeymoon
THANK YOU DAVE
Love these videos. Thank you Dave. Applying your principles I'll be debt free later this year. No more impulse purchases. No more leased cars. No more credit card swiping.

How has it been working out for you?

“Sally May has her own room in your house, because you have lived with debt for so long” 😂😂😂
HATE SALLIE MAE!!!
Right on Dave. Giving, in my opinion, is one of the number one ways to build wealth. Writing your goals out on paper is another great way to build wealth! “Live on less than you make!”
In 2019 I need to get my finances together. Enough is enough. I rebuke the spirit of poverty in Jesus name!
Amen sister!
I’m right there with you.. i’m on my way.

Lisa Jade I totally agree enough is enough AMEN
This has nothing to do with poverty. It has to do with bad money habits

Got a dealer looking to buy my car this weekend. Hopefully all works out and I'll be debt free !
Buying a 2k car right after.
Virtualhawk I want to do the same. Please let us know if all works out.
Sell it on craigslist. You'll get more for it.
Selling it on Craigslist you can get more because a dealer will buy it at wholesale instead of retail.
Virtualhawk God bless you
All the best!!!!
You have clothes in your closet stay out of the. Mall 🔥🔥
Allan Cobaria I haven't been to what you call a mall since they created malls in the 70s and have not eat in out in over a year, drive a 23 yr old van and spend about 10-30 bucks on cloths every few years but because I have women(an old one at that) I can in no way live below my means.
preach! this my goals rn
Allan Cobaria yes sometimes I also get 7 packages a week I didn’t remember eveb what I buy do not only tithes but shopping addiction
The one goal I had the best success with this year was curbing my shopping habits. I've only been shopping 5 times this entire year. I used to go shopping more than in a month. I definitely think I made progress.
DEAD lolol
I’m 22 and taking this all in !!! Next year I want to be saving 5000+ a month nothing less. I am changing the way I spend starting today. I am going to calculate my debt, and budget while also having a goal of how much I want to save monthly, thank you Dave Ramsey !
Update?
It is so true about generosity...one reason i want to do better in life is so i can do more for others. It makes me happy, and that's the point, for me. Thank you for being so generous with your wisdom!
I'm debt-free and I paid off my house! 🗽
I call Dave my financial father. With his guide this year, I got myself into a financially safe place. Thanks so much Dave for your continuous advice.
I Lost my father 7 years ago, it's nice to still have someone to listen to that delivers what you need to hear with a FATHER attitude. LOL (Straight Forward)
I love how he actually tells you how it is. No sugarcoating,no stupid strategies that MIGHT work.

5 things that will make you wealthier than you think:
1.) Do something nice for someone you dont know without wanting something in return (Enjoy the high)
2.) Do something nice for someone you do know without them knowing you did!
3.) Watch the sun come up and go down in the same day and reflect on the fact that you've probably never done something so simply beautiful in your life.
4.) Hug the person you love the most for a longggg minute... really a whole minute. Then look into their eyes for just as long.
5.) Smile because we are all struggling in our own ways... a smile is the cheapest way to multiply happiness
We are currently living from my husbands income and putting all of my income into paying off debt. And OMG! IT IS HARD! but so so worth it. Thank you Dave for kicking our butts. We love you. Our family think we are crazy and our friends dont like us anymore but who cares, they dont pay my bills.

Ive learned to give to others from watching these videos.
Really??

Thank you Dave Ramsey. You are changing lives. I am a changed persona and I’m not done learning.
1:39-1:43.; As a Christian, I read what the Bible has to say about money, as well.
Good starting point, Dave Ramsey!...
I'm curious to know best how people split their pay, how much of it goes into savings, spendings or investments, learn around $130K per year but nothing to show for it yet.
Consulting a financial advisor can help tailor a strategy that aligns with your financial goals and circumstances.
How did you find a good finance advisor? How do you know if they are trustworthy and competent.
My CFA, Joseph Nick Cahill, is a renowned figure in his field. I recommend researching his name online; you'll find all his credentials and everything you need to work with a reliable professional. With many years of experience, He is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.
"Tell your money where to go instead of wondering where it went."
I'm actually working 80 hrs a week to pay off my car. I owe $10,000. I stopped funding my retirement for 3 months now. But I am gonna do this😀
Hope you don't get a match because if you do you're throwing away a 100% guaranteed return
Walt Lonsdale for a short time and then she gets to max it out and at 15%
🤙🏼🔥 you got it!!! I’m paying same debt for student loans, good to have peers.
Walt Lonsdale
That is the one thing I disagree with Dave on.
Do the match, but the rest pf any money can go to paying off debt.
I worked 4.5 years to pay off my car, 70 hours a week. Almost without fail. Now car's paid off and it's broken down. And I'm so tired of working, I'm gonna sell it. Almost called Dave over it. I love it... But now it's my equity. LOL.
When I’m tempted to buy something nice that’s advertised to me I watch this video and it puts me back on track
This resonated alot in me. Im 34 with a toddler and a marriage hanging on by a thread because of being so lost in debt and pay day loans. Thanks for the talk Uncle Dave.
How are you?
I’m working on my own relationship with money everyday, just like most of us, and I’m seeing the results. It’s work, but well worth the effort.
Dave talks to me like a disappointed father and I’m here for it
As a non-American, I have a hard time understanding America's addiction to cars. Really. Because if you look at cars objectively, cars are kinda sorta of a financial black hole.
That's what Dave Ramsey says. He extends that to anything with a motor such as a truck or boat.
@@LesPaul2006
Me too, sometimes I get manipulated like that, but I try to keep my priorities first and not be like a stupid sheep flexing over a 70k car. No thanks.
+An. S.
Exactly! If Warren Buffet doesn't live fancy, you don't have to either. And if you want a 70k car, make sure you can actually afford it (and not even...)
His words are deep and inspiring, the best and sincere words I have heard in a long time. We as individuals need to change our initiative about money and start investing so our lives would mean something, not just to ourselves but also others.

I want the dark cloud out of my life for the new year. Blessings to you for inspiration to live better when it comes to money. Thank You Mr. Ramsey.
Credit cards are the cigarettes of the financial world!! Lol! Love ur stuff Dave!! U r changing my life!
I’m 52 years old and never had a credit card. I own my home outright since I was 40yrs old by paying the capital and interest. I used to do old houses up and sell for a profit then move on to the next. It was hard work and I never had a decent kitchen for 10 years as soon I had refurbished it I would sell the house and started again. Oh and I’m also a single mum. I’m not bragging but if I can do it so can you !
How do you earn credit without a credit card? I never had credit or a credit card before so idk
Jamie Kreitzer Credit Cards are actually great. and can help you with purchases. just gotta be smart with it
Holly Hocks
THAT'S GREAT WORK HOLLY.
You brag all you want.
You deserve to.
They can be dangerous to your credit score but very beneficial to it if you use them wisely. Use them for everything but pay them off every month.
I've had a credit card company DROP my credit limit for paying my bill in full! I've also had a credit card company suspend my spending for a few weeks because I paid my bill in full! Credit cards ARE the cigarette of the financial world!
Redina Puentes thanks for sharing what bank?
Weird this hasn’t been my experience. I have a 820 and never paid a cent in interest. Always pay it in full.

I found Mr Ramsey three years and his advices is a game changer for me and my financial situation I'm on step 6 now thank god for this man! I follow his baby steps to the T and I am so happy I did!
He's speaking the truth credit cards are scams just work on building yourself up without spending more than you need. You'll see financial gains when you do. I've learned the hard way
We have actually ate healthier since we started flowing the baby steps.
Love Life & money Momma me too
Nicole Cater how are sandwhitches unhealthy? You don’t even know what’s in it. Depending on the kind of sand witch it can actually have every important food group in it

When Dave talks about the link to generosity and wealth. I've seen this in my own life. When I'm stingy I have a bad mind set, when I'm generous without giving away the farm, I'm so much better off financially.
Well said. All great points. Healthy attracts healthy.

Your advice is so SOLID. I was thrilled to learn that the local high school is teaching you in the economics class. I only wish I had your advice when I was in my 20s and so broke. God bless you.
But I love beans and rice.
I personally prefer rice and beans.
I like rice and beans separately.

You can have your beans and rice. I'll stick with eating lobster, and Halibut.
I’m out of debt and working on the emergency fund. Thanks Dave!!!
I need to get in gear and get my finance straight. Live with my parents. Two kids. Husband works minimum wage and tries to provide, but always broke or in the negative. We don't go out to eat, Dollar tree shop and always cook from scratch. I shop when my kids need clothes or shoes ( usually from Goodwill or hand me downs.). I need guidance so I'm starting to listen to Dave Ramsey. Hopefully I can change my ways soon.
Thank you for not being politically correct!! God bless you sr. For being honest!!
I laughed when he mentioned Sallie Mae. I had a student loan with them. I’m so glad as soon as I had some money I was able to pay in full.
Mr. Dave, to me, you're definitely an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and personal experiences. I'm learning so much from your talks. ❤👍
Dave, you don't say what is SENSATIONAL that everyone WANTS to hear, you rather say the TRUTH that everybody NEEDS to know and do. Thank you.
Beans and rice is actually an extremely healthy diet. Throw some veggies in there and that’s a full sized meal over any “healthy meal “ at a restaurant for a fraction of the cost.
Gems of knowledge.
