A woman who cleans houses once told the story that her husband was laid off, and he came to work with her cleaning houses for a temp time. She asked him "are you ashamed to be cleaning houses?" His response was "I will never be ashamed to do the same work as you. And I will never be ashamed to do hard honest work."
I stopped being ashamed of a job when I realised that the job pays me regardless of the work. Then realise there are much harder jobs out there. Make the job easier if you can, then it is an easy job.
Thanks for featuring Katherine Ann McGrath in one of your episodes. I took your advice and contacted her for investment and budgeting opportunities. The results have been incredible. Started with slightly less than $50k, and now I’ve paid off my $500k loan in 6 months. Now totally debt free with 2 paid off rentals, having no debt for the last 12 months. My stock portfolio now is way over $910k.
The uncertainty of my retirement keeps me up. I have made so much losses in my life. Seeing this give me the conviction to try one more time. But you have to permit me to ask questions. Which might appear bulky.
I have made great gains from my young age days even now crossing over to retirement . I owe it all to Katherine Ann McGrath. You can look her up to know more about her. She's the best and will be of great benefit to anyone wishing to make a fruitful leap in these markets. I'm just putting this out here because you asked. Life should get softer after retiring, it all depends on how prepared you were for it. Forward all questions to her as she will welcome them with open arms and proffer solutions.
You just saved me days and hours of excruciating search. I have contacted her and begun my portfolio management. Thank you. I am so impressed at her calmness and wisdom. She never blamed me for anything but attributed my state to deficiency of information which i am getting from her now. Thank you again.

I lost my 6 figure job once. So I drove a semi truck until I got back on top. My wife and kids didn’t understand how horrible I felt and how desperate I was but she supported me and loved me and we are back on top now. I’ll shovel crap or dig ditches but my family will eat and be warm.
I got fired and then my ex gf left me 4 months ago 😂 But now I’m on track to making six figures this year and will replace her with a better girlfriend 🙌

This call is a perfect example of why Dave is so so much better than the other Ramsey personalities. Dave has life experience that the other hosts just don't have. He has the perspective and the fatherly touch that Jade and Ken and George and the rest of them just don't have. He has the ability to zero in quickly and understand exactly how a call needs to be handled. Too many of the other personalities seem like they are reading from a playbook. They just immediately want to talk about income and debt and they regurgitate the baby steps. Dave knows when a certain type of touch is needed. He knows when to be harsh and when to have a lighter touch.
Dave gives fatherly advice. Although Ken, John and George are fathers, they are both very analytical. John more so because he has a doctorates. Im sure John is the same at home. But he doesnt have that father anger that Dave has when someone is about to do something stupid and you need to listen to me now tone. John is very much sympathetic and apathetic. Sometimes a call needs that anger to right the ship and get things moving in the right direction.
It’s called common sense. If they were not at work, they would probably tell people like it is too and give their honest opinion. But they can’t do that. They can’t say anything that compromise what’s being sold my Ramsey. Dave will do and say what he wants because like he said you can’t cancel him, he owns the show so he doesn’t care. But they can’t make their company look bad.
40's now, and everything is paid for. Fortunately, I had a college economics teacher who taught me a lesson when I was 18 years old. That lesson was: you can't buy something else for every purchase you make. Having multiple sources of income is prudent, as is living within your means. I have a 13-year-old vehicle because it is all I need, I like it, and I can do whatever I want with it. My net worth is $4 million, and I can pay my bills without stress, but I don't live like I have that. I have no complaints.
I fully agree; I'm 56 years old and recently retired with approximately 1.2 million in outside retirement funds, no debt, and very few dollars in retirement funds in comparison to my portfolio balance over the last three years. To be honest, the financial advisor's role can only be ignored, not dismissed. Therefore do your research to get a reputable one and that should be any individuals main route into the market.
Vey accurate from your POV, It really isn’t about how much you save, it’s about how you manage your money. Whether you work to earn income or invest, it still boils down to income vs expenses, so yeah you may look into investment advisors for a strategy that suits your goals
Annette Christine Conte is the licensed advisor I use and i'm just putting this out here because you asked. You can Just search the name. You’d find necessary details to work with to set up an appointment.

why would your imaginary god bless this family but continue to let thousands of children starve across the globe? Your god is a true PoS just like anyone who worships him.
@ZackHall-kt4ww i get your anger with God. People are real PoS too; you have a free "will" and it has been placed in you. Sometimes life just sucks and is unfair in everyway possible, because real wolves are out there. I encourage you to look at the world and really reflect carefully. Either your angry with the people who claim to profess God and have done an epic shit piece in reflecting His love to you, or you just have a problem with God himself. Either way, you'll have to look inside yourself and see IF you can do better? Be better ...can you be better than Jesus. If you can, I'm 100% behind you. If you can't, you might want to give Him a try for your own life.
They're young... A lot of people make dumb decisions when they're young. Her voice breaking at the end of the call is very telling as to how scared she is. It's a tough lesson, but I hope they'll work out of the mess they're in.
I'm 46 years old and had been bad with money until just 2 years ago. I had so much debt and nothing in my checking or savings...literally nothing. In just 2 years I am now on baby step 6. It was very hard but worth it. There's always light at the end of the tunnel. Some tunnels are just longer. The sacrifices will be worth it!
your comment makes no sense. no one goes from o - step 6 unless you either make tons of money at work or have some kind of amazing support system in place. ridiculous
Good job Jason! I was in the same situation in 2020, then I found Dave here and ever since my financial situation has been gradually improving and I'm not broke anymore! The US economy cannot survive without continuous credit and debt creation. The FED will print more money and the average American will go just that much further in debt. Meanwhile, foreigners lust for the greenback. Their economies are in worse condition than the US... if that's even possible. Someone is going to be left holding the bag...
This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. Yep. Last year I had a friend (who's an artist) come to me about how broke he is and wanting to get his family out of the projects. I gave him the tough love talk and said GET A JOB! You can do your art on the side. Flash forward a year, he got a job in construction, worked his way up to drive the truck. and now just moved into their dream home. Which, is just a normal home... but to them, its everything. He still randomly thanks me. He said he thinks he just needed someone to tell him it's ok to give up on his dream because it made him feel like a failure.
I can totally relate- too much pride n not enough realism. Ex told me his ideas were worth more than a minimum wage job. That didn’t work out too well for him……
You are not a mother, are you? When the children are small daycare is definitely not affordable unless you make $40+ an hour. If two of your children need daycare you need to make twice as much! His business failed. That's the reason they are struggling.
@@silviaquesada2499 I am and my mother was. They had three kids close together. They worked opposite shifts until we went to school, and actually got to see each other when my dad was making enough money that he didn't have to work the weekends too. I am a single mother who cleaned offices on the weekend, carrying my child in a Mobi sling, then backpack, until he went to school and I became a teacher taking evening classes. Now we have the same schedule and we have all the same days off. If you have children, no excuses, do what you need to do, or don't have kids you can't afford. One or the other. Edit to add, because of the judgemental folks, I am not a single mother by choice, so don't come at me. I am holding my house together, that's what matters.
If you haven’t experienced it yet: being broke with a bunch of bills due and debt collectors calling you, etc is terrifying on a Primal level. Dave tries to articulate it in this video but it’s impossible to fully understand that awful feeling and how you look back and question so many decisions you made leading up to that point unless you’ve been there. I wouldn’t wish it upon anybody which is why making sacrifices, thinking long term and generally practicing the stuff the Ramsey program teaches is so vital in order to have the savings and game plan to hopefully never arrive in that situation ❤
This is a good reminder to not give contractors deposits before work is done. Half of them are living on debt and one wrong move away form ditching their business.
I don't do the job for anyone that won't pay a part up front. End of story. Roots out the folks who are either cheats, or are too poor to pay. If they don't trust me, then we weren't' gonna have a good business deal to begin with.
Another uncommon theme of the show that’s not talked about is how often small business owners fail. We live in a society where ppl glamorize owning a business, even if it’s tanking. Some of us are not going to own a business. Chasing that dream is destroying a lot of ppl.

Amazon, Tesla, Google, Meta, Caci and Coca-Cola are pretty good. However, the market has been bearish for the past week. I'd wait for the downtrend to die out.
Why not work a little from home. Insurance billing for a business. Work opposite shifts, weekends. Its only 5 years until they are in school, and it gets better.
Pretty sure there are customer service, survey jobs, and sales that can be done from home. My boyfriend’s mom last job was to call people and ask them if they’ve ever had Covid and what symptoms had they experienced and what not. That was it. But could be hard with newborns. Babysitting or doing after school care for other parents could help too.
Man, listening to calls like this is intense. I pray for that family and for that guy to find consistent work that pays well and I hope they are able to follow through and climb out of that mess. Good luck to you guys
I've only watched Dave's videos for a couple days, and the best word I'd describe him from the get-go is the word "REAL." He is that father that every son and daughter need. I'm inspired to be as strict and loving of a father like Dave when I eventually have kids, but I'd like to have that relationship with my kids of being honest and real with them in this brutal world. Good stuff!
I started out with Nora Jean Erickson, great advisor. I got very lucky to have found her especially after my marriage crisis & consider her a good friend now.

Since risk is at an all-time high right now, perhaps you should be a little more patient and return when it has decreased. Alternatively, you can consult a trained financial expert for strategy.
Yes true, I have been in touch with a brokerage Advisor. With an initial starting reserve of $80k, my advisor chooses the entry and exit commands for my portfolio, which has grown to approximately $550k.
How can I participate in this? I sincerely aspire to establish a secure financial future and am eager to participate. Who is the driving force behind your success?

Dave's advice for her to remind her husband that he's a good man was seriously touching. I appreciate not just the financial advice but also the heart.
You really think it's on purpose? I have a home but I'm in a position where I never thought or dreamt I would be today. Health issues are a deal breaker
I recently invested in recommended stocks, but their value has significantly declined. The market's volatility, high inflation, and banking crises have led to many negative portfolios. I'm concerned about the impact of rapid interest rate hikes on value investing. Should I consider a temporary pause from stock investments?
Just ''buy the dip'' man. In the long term it will payoff. High interest rates usually mean lower stock prices, however investors should be cautious of the bull run, its best you connect with a well-qualified adviser to meet your growth goals and avoid blunder
The truth is that this is really not as difficult as many people presume it to be. It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. My friend just pulled in more than $84k last month alone from his investment with his advisor. That is how people are able to make such huge profits in the market
This had me almost crying. They're gonna make it. Itll be hard but in ten years theyll look back and be so happy about what theyve accomplished. I saw it with my parents. They were never in that level of financial difficulty but they had 8 kids before 30 years old, one income, owned a tiny house. There was stress, for sure. They don't regret a thing now. The people here trying to shame them for putting family over money should be ashamed themselves. Money is temporary. A child is a gift forever.
It’s also a gift to have them when you don’t have to stress about how to feed them. I don’t think there is anyone who would shame them for wanting children, but if they could get their finances together first, they’d be helping their children so much. They’re very young and have plenty of time to have more kids if they want.
Stay at home moms is a hard job..but still need side hustles and have a money making mentality for you and your kids. Maybe if your kiddos are out at school, and other moms need their babies taken care of. Help other moms and start a daycare business! Keep it to babies and kids under 2 or something. It's difficult but not impossible for one man to go through this financial journey alone. I do agree with more jobs and/or start firesaling all your liabilities and keep minimal. You guys got this!
A stay at home parent is labor not a job. Jobs pay money. Also a parent who makes money isn't a stay at home parent. You're right she needs to get a job though.

A weak dollar can indicate an economic downturn, prompting me to consider the best ways to hedge against inflation. I've heard people say that inflation erodes the value of money, which makes me concerned about my savings of around $200K
Indeed, you are correct! Economic downturns offer numerous prospects for ordinary individuals to create wealth from the ground up. Nevertheless, seeking guidance from an investment planner might be necessary if you desire a more assertive return.
The uncertainties accompanying this present market is more reasons I have my daily investment decisions guided by a portfolio-coach seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time, both employing profit-oriented strategy and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downtrends, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis, it's quite impossible not to outperform. Netted over $800k in return on investment, since using a coach for about a year.

Sometimes you have to suck it up when shit hits the fan. Even if it means taking a job that you normally wouldn’t take or you feel is beneath you. I went through a very rough patch in my life when I was younger and I dug myself out by having three jobs. During the day I got a job with a landscaper mowing lawns and mulching. In the evenings, I would valet at the local country club and on the weekends I would work at my local mall, picking up garbage and doing light maintenance work. I did this schedule for around three years and got my life back on track. It was tough, but it was totally worth it.
Listening to some of these calls make me feels like a genius. Failing business, 3 kids and one on the way, debt up to their eyeballs, no savings and relying on government handouts to eat. Seriously, What. The. Fuck.
Then the next thing you know you're 50 years old, childless and wondering how you missed a huge aspect to living a full life. But hey, that's an epitaph - He was debt free with cash in the bank. So are people with kids. Debt isn't a necessity of family life,
I didn't meet hubby till it was too late for kids. We felt the lack, not everyone does. We ended up adopting 2 boys ( one at a time) Never had much money and it was tough managing behaviour at times, but definately worth it for us.
I think many people want to start their own business but do not fully research and/or talk to those in the field what is involved. There is so much to owning a business. Most small business owners who make a lot of money will tell you that it took them a few years to get to that stage and they did not buy a lot of equipment at the beginning.
Here in scandinavia We say At least 3 years before you can get a decent salary. And a lot of hard work. I have managed to get a ok salary with my home bakery. But it took 10 years. 7 of them part time cleaning offices. NO debt. I invested when I had extra money. I will never be rich but We have an ok life and I can plan my day as I want
A woman who cleans houses once told the story that her husband was laid off, and he came to work with her cleaning houses for a temp time. She asked him "are you ashamed to be cleaning houses?" His response was "I will never be ashamed to do the same work as you. And I will never be ashamed to do hard honest work."
That's cute

A keeper.
I stopped being ashamed of a job when I realised that the job pays me regardless of the work. Then realise there are much harder jobs out there. Make the job easier if you can, then it is an easy job.

He knows when to be harsh and when to have a lighter touch.
very well put, saved me the characters
Or his daughter who rode daddy’s shirt tails and into that radio and book career.
No way Rachel would be where she is without her dad.
That's called wisdom

Crash! Crash! Recession! Inflation! It’s getting depressing. I have about $100k in emergency fund and I have been seeing good news about the stock market and would like to gain from that since I can’t let my savings be corroded by inflation. What stocks should I into as a newbie to safely grow my money.
I suggest you offset your real estate and get into stocks, A recession as bad it can be, provides good buying opportunities in the markets if you’re careful and it can also create volatility giving great short time buy and sell opportunities too
Talking about advisors, do u consider anyone worthy of recommendations? I have about 100k to taste the water now that large cap stocks are at a discount... Thanks.
I just looked her up on the web and I would say she really has an impressive background in investing. I will write her an email shortly.

Amazon, Tesla, Google, Meta, Caci and Coca-Cola are pretty good. However, the market has been bearish for the past week. I'd wait for the downtrend to die out.
Her husband should have been the one calling the show so Dave and John can give him direct guidance. He's supposed to be the leader of his family.
I think she said he's been working 60-80 hours a week. He's probably out working.
And he might be too embarrassed right now to face it. Not disagreeing.
This country is a mess
Exactly why is HE not calling in this is HIS mess!!!
He might be cheating!!!!
Why not work a little from home. Insurance billing for a business. Work opposite shifts, weekends. Its only 5 years until they are in school, and it gets better.
Yes...she needs to start doing something on the side. Build some skills and opportunities for future income
I thought so too but 4 kids and a job is A Lot! I should feel bad but what’s wrong with people?
Pretty sure there are customer service, survey jobs, and sales that can be done from home. My boyfriend’s mom last job was to call people and ask them if they’ve ever had Covid and what symptoms had they experienced and what not. That was it. But could be hard with newborns. Babysitting or doing after school care for other parents could help too.
I agree she needs to find a source of income until they can get back on their feet
Good stuff!
I love the compassion that DAVE has for people. ❤
God bless you Mr Ramsey. We've been through this. It take a lot of your life to deal with it all. Family is first.
4 kids at 24 is crazy !!
They really need to have financial education.
Whew, baby!
You ain't wrong. That's why I finally took the plunge and found a financial advisor. Best Decision Ever.
How did you find a good finance advisor? How do you know if they are trustworthy and competent.
I started out with Nora Jean Erickson, great advisor. I got very lucky to have found her especially after my marriage crisis & consider her a good friend now.
Man life can be rough but that man is a savage. Keep at it man you’ll turn your life around this is only a season.
How is he a savage..he's 24, wife, 4 kids, $25 in the bank, and owes $90K. I wouldn't demean him, but sounds like poorly educated and poor life decisions, on the both of them.
I think investors should always put their cash to work, especially In 2025, we'll start to see more market diversification. I'm hoping to invest about $350k of my savings in stocks against next year. Hope to make millions in 2025
Since risk is at an all-time high right now, perhaps you should be a little more patient and return when it has decreased.
My CFA Julianne Iwersen Niemann a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further... She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market..
I searched for her full name online, found her page, and sent an email to schedule a meeting. Hopefully, she responds soon. Thank you
Dave's advice for her to remind her husband that he's a good man was seriously touching. I appreciate not just the financial advice but also the heart.
It's so heartbreaking to hear from of these situations.....wanting to work is not enough, being able to get that opportunity is what is needed.
Why are people having multiple kids with nooooooo money?
Because America has too many handouts. Stop the handouts

That is how people are able to make such huge profits in the market
nice! once you hit a big milestone, the next comes easier.. who is your advisor please, if you don't mind me asking?
She appears to be well-educated and well-read. I ran an online search on her name and came across her website; thank you for sharing.
@@PennyBergeron-os4ch❓how, many people have no CLUE on how to invest
Having that many children in a situation like that is absolutely insane
3 with 4th on the way...really SMH
This had me almost crying. They're gonna make it. Itll be hard but in ten years theyll look back and be so happy about what theyve accomplished.
I saw it with my parents. They were never in that level of financial difficulty but they had 8 kids before 30 years old, one income, owned a tiny house. There was stress, for sure. They don't regret a thing now.
The people here trying to shame them for putting family over money should be ashamed themselves. Money is temporary. A child is a gift forever.
Amen!
It’s also a gift to have them when you don’t have to stress about how to feed them. I don’t think there is anyone who would shame them for wanting children, but if they could get their finances together first, they’d be helping their children so much. They’re very young and have plenty of time to have more kids if they want.
Exactly!
🙏🏽 Amen
A child is a decision. It’s not a requirement. Bringing a child into poor conditions is irresponsible and selfish
@@Yoyomanmanhollait can be irresponsible but it is exact opposite to selfish, selfish people would rather have no kids

Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got to talking about investment and money. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family.
Hi. I’ve been forced to find additional sources of income as I got retrenched. I barely have time to continue trading and watch my investments since I had my second child. Do you think I should take a break for a while from the market and focus on other things or return whenever I have free time or is it a continuous process? Thanks

I feel bad for their kids...but they keep cranking them out.

The wife can’t find a remote job and it is really easy. I am doing it and I’m home with my family. I quit my main job and honestly this was the best decision of my life and I get to spend time with my mom and grandpa.
It's hard when a business that you've put sweat and tears into fails. I was about that age too when it was clear a business I'd hoped to make my life just wasn't working and wasn't going to work. It was a rough time but with some hard work I got back on my feet. I was single at the time so it was easier for me. My best wishes for them.
I like how people say they own their home then say they have a mortgage. 😂
You'll never own your home outright. The government can take it from if you falter on your property tax. I live in Southern California and my annual tax bill is around $10K. Social security is not enough to cover this.

What I LOVE about Dave is that he will tell you to do anything for work to get yourself out of debt. Money is money. Doesn't matter if it's working at Walmart or taco bell or anything! There's no shame! Money is money. I love this mentality! This attitude is what will get you financially free!
And this video gets even better by offering her some support and reminding her about her husband. ❤❤❤❤
Great job Dave.

I think many people want to start their own business but do not fully research and/or talk to those in the field what is involved. There is so much to owning a business. Most small business owners who make a lot of money will tell you that it took them a few years to get to that stage and they did not buy a lot of equipment at the beginning.
