Part of me doesn't blame Geto that much. Life as a jujutsu sorcerer is just that shitty and cruel. You either die horribly like Haibara or quit like Nanami. Nobody appreciates what you're doing in the slightest. Gojo also has his fair share to deal with.
@@hish33p32 You know what's funny? It's actually realistic to me that he quit his desk job to go back to Jujutsu High considering how overworked and toxic it is there.
I think their relationship is the most fleshed out in the story. usually, Gege doesn't go way too deep into relationships because the pace and dynamic are so fast - he just lets us fill in the blanks. but with these two, he went deep and it still affects the story. not only their bond was very healthy, their fallout was tragic but even after everything they still remained special in each other's lives. I'd call them soulmates since they never really opened up to anyone after losing each other. the fact that Gojo was delaying killing Geto for 10 years despite being the only one who could execute the order (and then Yuta did most of his job anyway). the way they still referred to each other as Satoru and Suguru, calling each other their only best friend. how they both basically adopted kids at the age of 18/19 and continued to protect their "families of sorcerers". how after Geto said he couldn't smile from the bottom of his heart in a world like that, he heard Gojo's last words to him and had the most sincere smile before dying - these are such touching but heart-breaking details. and even after Geto's death, it's still the biggest "weakness" of Gojo. we've only seen him lose his self-control 2 times so far and both were because of Geto (when he learned what Geto did and when Kenjaku showed up in Geto's body that Gojo couldn't bring himself to destroy. also, Geto's soul remains responding to him). it humanizes Gojo so much. Gege has this whole theme of the loneliness of the strongest, "love is the worst curse of them all", etc. and i think Geto and Gojo's relationship plays a huge role in it. only in Gojo's case, just fighting someone equally strong will never be enough (like maybe Sukuna thinks), it's having someone who clicks with you on every level - something he had, something he lost. I'm curious to see how Gojo's story will end eventually.
Geto soul reacting and trying to kill kenjaku is such a killer detail, it reminds me of nen after death, but also his protectiveness over gojo.. even after death..
I completely agree with this, you explained it better than I could've-- (Episode 9 spoilers) I do believe that they are the most fleshed out relationship in the series *because* it's purposely made as the central part of JJK. Technically, Toji started the series because he was the reason to Gojo's awakening and the start of Getou's spiral, but Gojo and Getou's relationship continued the series and still continues to be the reason why many things are happening the way they are; the curse that took over Getou wouldn't have been able to do so if Gojo had disposed of his body, but he didn't, because he wasn't able to give away his best friend. The reason why the villains successfully sealed him was because he saw him, a friend he never thought he'd see again, which caught him completely off guard. The deep, loving nature of their friendship that you have explained is very important to JJK, as seen so many times, which is why the VA of Gojo (if my memory is correct) said that their relationship is the main focus of season 2.
An interesting take is that Gojo actually had pretty similar ideals to Sukuna when he was younger. Only respecting the strong, not bothering with the weak. Without Geto Gojo wouldn’t have gone down the exact path as Sukuna, but he probably wouldn’t be taking the same proactive approach as a mentor and protector that he is now.
so true. i think the reason gojo’s looking out for yuuji so much and using his position of responsibility well is he’s tryna avoid another geto situation in the new generation of sorcerers
They are awesome. I love the moment when Riko makes fun of the bangs and they just pick her up in the next panel. Perfect chemistry shown and a funny moment all in the same page. They are too fun.
Firstly, thank you for the 5 bucks man! I really appreciate that, it means alot. Secondly, yea I totally agree the chemistry is really good amongst all of them. Wouldve been nice to see them all together for longer
I think what's important, beyond the whole romance vs friendship debate, is that you can tell that both really do love and care for eachother (whether it be romantic or platonic). Gojo still considered Geto to be his best friend after he defected, and shared thst moment with Geto at the end of JJK 0 when Geto died.(Spoilers) And when Geto/Kenjaku surprised Gojo in the shibuya arc, only Gojo was able to snap Geto's body out of possesion (which is something Getos adopted kids couldnt even do!?). As you said in the vid, most stories don't really flesh characters relationships out this much! I'm a rising freshman in college, so I'm also fearful of drifting apart from my best friend...(though I doubt we have to worry about one becoming a genocidal maniac)
I do think that they are lovers in this case since the author said their relationship is inspired by the gay manga “the night beyond the tricornered window” HOWEVER I also think it’s fine if some men want to headcanon them as just friends
Yeah I think the difference is Gojo and Geto have a dynamic Yuji and Megumi are just friends, we don’t really see their ideals butt heads or really challenge eachother at all.
i think gege put more effort into fleshing out gojo and geto's relationship than yuji and megumi's (or any other relationship tbf). like the latter one is a cute strong friendship but gojo and geto come off as soulmates that were tragically separated and it still affects the story
I really have to respect the way you spoke about the shipping aspect. I don't ship them either but I respect that you addressed it as still making sense why people would ship them and not just shut it out completely as "You're dumb for seeing it that way, obviously not canon" so big ups to that in this video (especially because a lot of people's vitreol towards shipping comes when it's a gay ship)
No because as a satosugu shipper I am so happy to see there is people who understand why we ship them or see them in a romantic sense. A lot of people just tend to say that we didn’t understand their character and friendship dynamic. We get quite a lot of hate for shipping them 😔
I'm glad that this was appreciated! I really do try to be understanding/inclusive with those interpretations of the series, especially because in most cases it doesn't detract from my, or anyone else's enjoyment of the series. Hope you enjoyed the video otherwise as well too!
@@BrokenRonin it was a great video beyond that point, and I'm really enjoying the recent character analysis videos you've been doing. It was just an aspect that stuck out to me as really respectable from you! Loving the videos and hope to see more of these types as well as the other stuff like the power scaling videos. You've got a fantastic channel
@@estelle6008 I personally don't ship them, but at the same time I can completely see why people would and how the narrative can lead to that conclusion and am happy that people can find joy from a series in that sort of way. And it upsets me as well when people try to shut others down because they have their own interpretations of what is a medium of art, and considering all kinds of art are meant to be enjoyed and interpreted in a personal way, if someone's enjoyment comes from a relationship between characters they see as romantic and they enjoy that, then I think that should be celebrated even if we don't all see the story the same way!
I'd go as far to say that geto is not only one of the best written villains in jjk but just anime in general. His journey down to darkness is just so real you completely understand why he went insane despite opposing it.
exactly, and imo hes kinda of right, like maybe regular humans shouldnt exsit they cant see cursed energy or curses so if there wasn't any sourcers they would all die, but if everyone is a cursed user they can see and control all there curses and there wouldnt be curses anymore, its the next step in evolution
I hope we'll get some more content with him before the events of Jujustu kaisen 0 in maybe in an ova or a small novel like how chainsaw man did to flesh out some of the other character backstories.A lot of people think hes just who Kenjaku was before becoming evil sadly.
This was a really good video. Gojo and Geto's relationship is very tragic and mappa went a step further with that op and especially ed. It's really well done and you're right when you said there was like... a sense of nostalgia when watching it. I never would've imagined shoko gojo and geto taking pics and going to arcades and what not. I was literally thinking "Dang they were really homies that's crazy"
you know what? in some sad, but beautiful way, their friendship did continue. all the way until the end, gojo and geto never hated each other. they never once thought of someone as anybody other than their best friends. like gojo said at the end of jjk0, “my best friend, my one and only.” geto died as gojo’s best friend. and it hurts all the more to think of it that way tbh :’)
The opening and ending really emphasize the slice of life feel. It's a cozy , fun bubble, but it pops by the 5th episode. If you are a satosugu shipper, both songs are a lot of fuel, lol. This is a great video. The commentary on the fragility of human relationships got to me, I know what it's like to lose a friend because one moment, unfortunately.
You know what's even crazier, the Toji fight with each of the characters. If you look closely he only cut Gojo once over the chest and cut Geto twice over the chest. The way I saw it was that Toji cursed them. He made Gojo the strongest one and Geto the second strongest. He made him (Geto) into a person who could never be Gojo levels of strong ever again. Hence when they fall out Geto asks his friend, if being the strongest makes you Gojo Saturo, or if being Gojo Saturo makes you the strongest. That line hurts more when you remember that fight and the marks Toji gave to them😢
Top Tier video. Their dynimac was the best part of Hidden Inventory and it's what makes it so painful to reread/rewatch. That nostalgic, familiar feeling with their friendship was something that really stuck out to me. Would love to see you analyze Hell's Paradise duos (Tao Fa and Ju Fa, Gabimaru and Saigiri or Fuchi and Gantetsusai would be awesome). Keep up the great work.
Tbh I think a major big reason why this dynamic works so well and is one of the best in the series is because of the lack of intimacy between any other characters, legit. By intimacy, like you I don't mean romantic, I mean a closeness between two characters that isnt present in any of the other characters. Gojo and Geto understood each other and when they didnt they still stood beside one another to support the other. It wasnt until Geto was left alone completely, wity the accumulation of wrongs that he lost sight of his purpose. There are no other two characters in the series that shows intimacy and thats very unfortunate but thats what makes Gojo and Getos relationship shine. I do wish we got more of it, seriously some characters are going to need some later on in the story. The closest we got to something as close as Geto or Gojo was Maki and Yutas relationship. Really got one out of a slump to make them powerful sorcerers. Megumi and Yuji relationship is alsk different, I think it needs more time more scenes to show that intimacy. Unfortunately it isnt that type of genre or Gege way of doing it
I think Megumi&Yuji have a nice dynamic too. It's not as impactful for the story yet and Gojo&Geto also have this tragic and dramatic side to their relationship which makes it stand out. But Megumi and Yuji had this interesting dispute about saving only worthy people vs saving everyone at the start that turned into Megumi thinking Yuji is worthy of saving vs Yuji doubting it because of Sukuna which then turned into Megumi basically giving Yuji a reason/purpose to live after the Sibuya arc - i think it's a good bond. The main reason their duo doesn't hit as hard (same with Yuta and Maki) is that their moments are spread in between big fights, epic plot twists and other characters when Gojo&Geto had the whole arc solely focused on their relationship. I would also love Gege to indulge in emotional storytelling a bit more - Gojo&Geto proves he can do it well. even Yuta&Rika - but I'm not sure he will. Maybe he does it if it's going to end tragically 😂
@@valeriyav2149 Thats a good point Gojo and Geto had a whole mini arc to focus on them but like I said Megumi and Yuji is a bit different. Youre right the that scene when Yuji died was so good for them. I dont think we got another one that like again. And yeah, I hope the anime fixes some of that. I like that they add and change some scenes, nothing drastic but more to flesh out the characters
@@SemekiIzuio I would love to see the scene when Yuji went all suicidal after Shibuya and Megumi said "if you don't want to live for yourself, live to help me'' (save his sister). It's such a strong moment so I hope they will animate it emotionally too. I hope Megumi won't die in the manga now after giving Yuji the reason to live 😅 but Gege is sadistic so who knows 🤣
After this episode of season 2 just dropped, that closing song is gonna hit different. Watching the show it was awesome seeing the two or three (Shoko be in there too) of them together having fun, now it's gonna be a reminder of what was lost
I love them together, they have the best connection and relationship out of the entirety of Jujutsu Kaisen. I hope Geto can come back somehow, his impact and dynamic with Gojo is so amazing to watch.
Ngl I was positively surprised to see you neutrally acknowledging their dynamic as a ship, most people just ignore debates like that because they don't feel like doing research when the topic behind it doesn't interest them too much, weirdly proud to see you still did nonetheless. I personally have a neutral stance on what their relationship was but the excessive hate that the ship got backed up with arguments like "they were best friends, you don't have to make everything gay" and "Gojo's confirmed to be into women, get over it" always bothered me. The possibility of them having romantic feelings for each other doesn't cancel out any other information. They are still best friends and Gojo's still into girls regardless the nature of their relationship. The main reason they even get shipped is precisely because they were so close to eachother, they undeniably loved each other platonically, and depending on how deep you dig there definitely were at least implications of romantic love hidden in some corners (which is a fact btw so don't come at me for that), but no one forces you to notice and accept them, they're just there and that's that, it doesn't change any part of their relationship. All events would've still went down the way they did, if anything, the existence of romantic feelings would've just worsened the tragedy that was meant to inevitably follow, but it still wouldn't have changed a thing about the outcome. In easier terms what I'm trying to say is that the ship between Gojo and Geto basically acts like a DLC for the base of their relationship. Just because you're not a fan of it doesn't give you the right to bash people who like the DLC, it doesn't change the original the both of you are familiar with, it just adds some content on top. I'm not advocating for the ship, as I said, I'm on neutral ground, so I don't really have an opinion to defend here anyway. I'm just trying to tell people those sorry excuses of homophobia don't pass if you can't even argue for your side without being petty and non-sensical, grow up. Again, great video in general my dude, did an amazing job if dissecting their relationships. Hands down one of my favorite JJK youtubers 🙏
great video! and thank you so much for being respectful towards shippers and shipping culture. it’s quite rare for someone not only to pass on the opportunity to hate on shipping, but to actually acknowledge it and show understanding of why someone would think in such way.
This reminds me a memory from the book "Can't hurt me" by david goggins, it's basically; 1 of the very close 2 brothers goes through Hell Week and Goggins says that until the other brother goes through Hell Week(same trauma and hardship) as well their relationship wasn't same since 1 couldn't understand the others perspective. Gojo couldn't understand/see the pain Geto was going through for 1 year and when he saw it, it was too late. This makes me cry so hard.
One of my closest friends of 8 years left me and my other freind, we were part of a trio, it was everything. So yeah their relationship makes me nostalgic, or perhaps bittersweet pain is a better word for it.
This documentary was so beautiful I've only found your channel recently but exploring the in-depth nuances of Gege's writing immediately had me interested in your content it's not every day that a content creator goes out of there way to make an in-depth guide on how a mangaka writes their stories and what messages they're trying to push or hint at. I would absolutely love to see another deep dive into a character duo I think you could do absolute wonders talking about the complexities of Gon and Killua's relationship in Hunter x Hunter it's probably my favorite relationship in all of Manga and seeing people talk about it in depth is one of my favorite things
I don't think it'll happen, but I'd love to see the pair back together again as adults, I'm sure they'd act goofy and have fun all while trashing whoever they're up against 😎
Maybe Gojo dies and is able to see Geto, I think that would be possible. Both of them able to be free of the confines of being a sorcerer. No powers, no responsibilities, just friends finally. Reacquainting them in life would be a mistake, IMO; as Geto has made horrendous decisions, but the enlightenment of death might realign the perspective back to love instead of hate.
@@TheMsRavenBlack Gojo was just a moment away from making the mistake of killing all those people after he killed Toji. Either one of them was going down a dark route after that experience...
Glad you're enjoying the videos and I really appreciate the concern, really having fun making content right now so I'm just spawning a ton of ideas. I will make sure to keep everything in check though

A series of Duo Discussion videos would go crazy because you really broke down how deep the level comradery ran between these 2 and how it shaped how they ended up
I think a video on Ichigo and Uryu’s friendship would be great seeing as Cour 2 of the anime is airing. They start off as enemies and down the line find out their distant relatives of each both being Quincy.
This is pretty dope where you did one for Toji and now both Geto/Gojo also the chibi versions the anime and manga do for these characters always gets to me lul
im glad you mentioned the shipping aspect of stsg, cuz they’re definitely implied to have had feelings for each other but its left vague enough so that it’s up to you whether you choose to interpret their relationship as either romantic or platonic
It was never implied or vague about their relationship. It was NOT romantic. Damn what’s up with ppl wanting to ship everyone?! Why can’t they just been close friends? Name one time their interactions was ever hinted at to be romantic?! Gojo even showed a picture to Geto of a girl asking isn’t she hot. Yeah, no. Anybody thinking that there is any hit of romance between Geto and Gojo are living in fantasy land with their head canon. 😩
@@GojosGirl just bc gojo likes girls, it doesnt mean he cant like guys too, bisexual ppl exist yknow. and there are several implications that their relationship can be viewed as more than platonic, u just gotta have a keen eye to see it. for example, the songs that gege chose for geto & gojo both feature specifically romantic breakup songs, s2’s op (which is supposed to be from gojo’s pov abt geto/their relationship) has the word ‘koi’ in it which refers to romantic love, s2’s ed (which is from geto’s pov abt gojo/their relationship) mentions wanting to see gojo’s blushing face… and thats not even mentioning the fact that the hidden inventory arc is centred around being geto & gojo’s blue spring/springtime of youth which in animanga often means the time in a teenagers/young adults life where they fall in love.. like im sorry but what abt any of that reads as ‘platonic’ to you?? if u do view their friendship as just that, a friendship then thats fine but dont shit on queer ppl for viewing subtext thats quite obviously there.
@@themajesticwitchofdramathe539 You’re really grasping at straws. I looked up the lyrics for OP and nothing in that song implies nor say anything about romantic love. It’s about saying goodbye to a period in time coming to an end. Also Springtime in youth in anime/manga doesn’t mean falling in love. You made that up. Where is this secret/hidden theme discussed or stated at? It’s about a time in your life where you thrive and learn. In Naruto Might Guy always talk about the springtime of youth a lot. When you’re at your best and strongest. A time of life where you’re gaining experiences and knowledge. Also blushing can represent many things. Embarrassment, shyness or anger too. In the lyrics it says “ It can be a silly story” before “Show me your blushed face again” line. Which means that the blushed face is reaction to the silly story. The same way a person can be a butt end of a joke that causes you embarrassment and your face turns red/blushed. Same difference of telling a silly story that can trigger many emotions causing a face to be blushed. It all comes together as saying goodbye to something/someone and regrets. Nothing implying romantic love. All the feelings expressed in the songs doesn’t make it romantic. Friendships are complex. I had friendships that ended that hurt more then any romantic relationships I had. Society is too use to men not being emotionally intelligent. Not being able to express their feelings towards each other. When one do come along then he’s gay.
@@GojosGirl the word love in the op is 'koii' which SPECIFICALLY REFERS and is exclusive to romantic love, its not 'ai' where its more generalised to mean any type of love. and blue spring DOES mean a time where teens/young adults fall in love in animanga, literally look it up omg. Yes, it can mean having happiness and hope but in animanga, it also means falling in love too. that rings true even when might guy's saying it bc naruto at that age is still figuring his romantic feelings out and no one's saying that if two guys express emotions that automatically makes them gay lmao. what makes their relationship queer-coded are all the little hints that gege has personally included. again, if u dont see their relationship as romantic then thats fine but dont shit on ppl who do, its rude and just unnecessary.
@@themajesticwitchofdramathe539 I did look up blue springtime as related to manga/anime. It doesn’t refer to young ppl falling in love. It can be that if it’s a part of that person youthful experience. Aoi haru means blue springtime. Seasons can be metaphors for various stages in a person life. Springtime is associated with youth. Blue in Japan represents calmness , security and stability. Therefore Blue Spring represents a period in Gojo youth when everything was calm and stable. He had a best friend, knew who he was and where he was going. Gojo was secure in who he was. That’s why he always harp about no one taking the youth from the young. Their Blue Springtime. Gojo Blue Springtime was essential the time of his youth when he was happy living his best life. Whereas later after Toji, his accession to godhood and the end of his friendship with Geto ending Gojo was no longer in his Blue Springtime. There’s a Japanese movie called Blue Springtime. It’s about two high school students who are friends but as time goes by they drift apart and go there separate ways. The film title can be understood as "inexperienced years" or teenage years, but it also can be understood as "fresh start". According to manga artist Taiyō Matsumoto, the title is intended as a play on irony. Gege loves to incorporate movies into his work. Such as when Yuji was training by watching movies. One of the movies was clearly a play at Lord of the Rings or Hakari fighting club is a nod to Brad Pitt movie Fight Club. Speaking of Hakari you can make a case he is in a romantic relationship with Kirara. There’s a panel of Kirara snuggling up to Hakari with her finger stroking his neck while his arm is around Kirara and hand on her butt. If Gege wanted to right Gojo as bisexual or gay it would look like that. He’s not afraid to write queer romantic relationships.
To have the world in your hand you must have the ability to create and the ability to conjure life . GOJO CREATES THE ENVIRONMENT AND Geto CONJURES the life there like in they're relationship . Perfect the there abilities.
If I was a sorcerer, I'd be a tamer version of Sukuna. I train, I eat, I exorcise, I do whatever I want within grey moral reason. I don't care if people don't appreciate me, I care that I finally can perform domain expansion twice a day without dying of exhaustion.
Great analysis indeed, thanks for the hard work man! I don't know if you've seen the series, but a great duo with a similarly intense dynamic are Vash and Wolfwood from Trigun, it'd be great to have your take on their relationship.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I havent seen too much of Trigun but its always been an interesting series so I may check it out sometime
I won't say Geto's downside is only because Gojo wasn't there anymore, it is a consequence of many factors and Geto's mindset as well. I believe Geto is more of a simple thinker who only thinks of the world as strong and weak, right and wrong. So when the ideal moral compass collapsed, it made sense as to why he hates "monkey" so much. He judges people based on what they were born with. I believe from the start Gojo was a lot deeper thinker than Geto, he needs to have a reason as to why he should protect the weak when that's just what Geto believes without a true meaning to why.
i love analysis content and i expacilly (spelled that wrong) love your content cuz of how thorough and indepth he goes on the subject like he knows exactly whats going on
If I saw what the village did to the twins, I'd join Geto, like straight up... Not only because what the normal humans did, but also because Jujutsu Society failed to protect them.
from start to finish u broke their characters down psychologically. Not one misstep. I wonder if u were reading a script from ur notes or sum. if so or not, either way, PERFECT analysis.
Geto's impacts on Gojo's life: - Gojo changed his first-person pronoun because Geto told him to (after he left him, of course. He was very much against it at first). This is a HUGE deal because in Japanese, your preferred first-person pronoun pretty much defines what kind of person you actually are - Gojo decided to become a teacher to prevent what happened to Geto from happening again - It is canon that Gojo used Geto as his moral compass during that Riko corpse scene. If Geto had said "yes", Gojo would have become a mass murderer - Geto's appearance is the reason why Gojo was able to get sealed in the first place. It doesnt matter how you view their relationship (romantically or platonically). You can never deny the fact that Gojo loves Geto very deeply
This analysis is amazing!! The only thing I'd say is that Geto still wants to protect the weak, it's just that he now views sorcerers as the 'weak' in society as they're minorities that have been viciously taken advantage of
Geto's life is kinda sad I suppose. He doesn't have power to change anything, his best friend kinda leave him in the dust in terms of power. Ploting and plotting only for his plan to crumble because he got beaten up by a depressed and suicidal teenager, got killed by his best friend, his corpse taken over by parasite and her adopted daughters got slice to bits by Sukuna. Sad...
@@MrRedbull901Yes. a friendship which faces a large tragedy forcing the 2 friends apart. one dedicated himself to fostering the youth while the other made plans that may affect the whole world. pretty similar lmao
I appreciate the neutral approach towards shipping and acknowledging its validity. I’m not a shipper technically because I find them to be more tragic rather than cute, however I think there is intentional ambiguity surrounding their relationship and that has a lot of romantic undertones. How people interpret it from there is up to them and regardless of if the feelings are romantic or platonic, they were true best friends.
For me the draw of satosugu is platonic soulmates who never got to together properly romantically cause of what happened to them for me it’s the angst and tragedy and the love was there but it wasn’t enough of it all requited romantic love but they never got to be together.
You know it’s funny that the only main infraction that they had in the entire anime was only a couple of moments each about a minute and only once or raise I mean I wish gege at least gave a flash back of them meeting in their childhood or at least more moments with them I mean the ending and opening had more memorable moments with them like bicycling with each other and playing in the arcade
Part of me doesn't blame Geto that much. Life as a jujutsu sorcerer is just that shitty and cruel. You either die horribly like Haibara or quit like Nanami. Nobody appreciates what you're doing in the slightest. Gojo also has his fair share to deal with.

They were so perfect I’m crying 😭
You've discribed this in such a perfect way
Damn that was beautiful 😢❤
Geto soul reacting and trying to kill kenjaku is such a killer detail, it reminds me of nen after death, but also his protectiveness over gojo.. even after death..
I completely agree with this, you explained it better than I could've--
(Episode 9 spoilers) I do believe that they are the most fleshed out relationship in the series *because* it's purposely made as the central part of JJK.
@@user-zz3sn8ky7z I said Gojo not Geto
@@SomberP Oops, yeah that makes way more sense, reading is hard, i apologize for the inconvenience
so true. i think the reason gojo’s looking out for yuuji so much and using his position of responsibility well is he’s tryna avoid another geto situation in the new generation of sorcerers
I'm a rising freshman in college, so I'm also fearful of drifting apart from my best friend...(though I doubt we have to worry about one becoming a genocidal maniac)
you never know
I do think that they are lovers in this case since the author said their relationship is inspired by the gay manga “the night beyond the tricornered window”
HOWEVER I also think it’s fine if some men want to headcanon them as just friends
The fact that they grew apart and took what they originally lacked is so interesting because of how differently they interpreted it.
Great video.
Hot take but I like the dynamic between them more than yuji and megumi
Not so hot take gojo and geto dynamic clears Yuji and megumi's dynamic they were like soulmates.
Is that hot? 🤔
Yeah I think the difference is Gojo and Geto have a dynamic
Yuji and Megumi are just friends, we don’t really see their ideals butt heads or really challenge eachother at all.
i think gege put more effort into fleshing out gojo and geto's relationship than yuji and megumi's (or any other relationship tbf). like the latter one is a cute strong friendship but gojo and geto come off as soulmates that were tragically separated and it still affects the story
IS that a hot take
I really have to respect the way you spoke about the shipping aspect.
Still cringe
I just love how shoko up and called gojo immediately when getting showed staying as calm as possible

He is definitely the best-written villain of modern anime imo

Thank you! I really appreciate that.
A beautiful friendship that was meant to continue 🙁
But sadly couldn't after one mission
you know what? in some sad, but beautiful way, their friendship did continue. all the way until the end, gojo and geto never hated each other. they never once thought of someone as anybody other than their best friends. like gojo said at the end of jjk0, “my best friend, my one and only.” geto died as gojo’s best friend. and it hurts all the more to think of it that way tbh :’)
Well...
homiesexual
I sometime wonder if jjk was only a normal high school anime
They should be in that anime
But sadly world of jjk is very cruel
The opening and ending really emphasize the slice of life feel. It's a cozy , fun bubble, but it pops by the 5th episode. If you are a satosugu shipper, both songs are a lot of fuel, lol. This is a great video. The commentary on the fragility of human relationships got to me, I know what it's like to lose a friend because one moment, unfortunately.
toji really beat geto into depression and turn to genocide 💀
That's not what happened at all.. It was not Toji but Riko's death and the celebration that was the catalysis
Riko's death, Haibara's death and the Nanako and Mimiko incident.
I ship them and i also dont mind them being friends any works they just bounce off of each other very well 😭
You know what's even crazier, the Toji fight with each of the characters.
Keep up the great work.
top 3 bromances in manga/anime
Once i saw geto casually make tea, that sealed it, geto and gojo are one 😂
I KNOW IT IN MY SOUL, YOU'RE NOT GETO! SO WHO ARE YOU?!
Idk if I'm gonna be able to handle that scene in the anime
Watching the show it was awesome seeing the two or three (Shoko be in there too) of them together having fun, now it's gonna be a reminder of what was lost
i cant stop watching these 5 episodes back idrk why, probably bc ive always dreamed of having this type of friendship

Great video!!! :D Gojo and Geto are two of my favorite characters in fiction! :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
great video! and thank you so much for being respectful towards shippers and shipping culture. it’s quite rare for someone not only to pass on the opportunity to hate on shipping, but to actually acknowledge it and show understanding of why someone would think in such way.
Ur speech on people growing apart touched the depths of my soul man
Not exactly a friendship, but there is a good video waiting in the wings about the dynamic between Urahara and Aizen.
Might have to consider making that video tbh
Heh….
Reacquainting them in life would be a mistake, IMO; as Geto has made horrendous decisions, but the enlightenment of death might realign the perspective back to love instead of hate.

im glad you mentioned the shipping aspect of stsg, cuz they’re definitely implied to have had feelings for each other but its left vague enough so that it’s up to you whether you choose to interpret their relationship as either romantic or platonic
@@themajesticwitchofdramathe539
You’re really grasping at straws.
@@themajesticwitchofdramathe539
I did look up blue springtime as related to manga/anime.

Ahh yes they’re just “friends”
I won't say Geto's downside is only because Gojo wasn't there anymore, it is a consequence of many factors and Geto's mindset as well. I believe Geto is more of a simple thinker who only thinks of the world as strong and weak, right and wrong. So when the ideal moral compass collapsed, it made sense as to why he hates "monkey" so much. He judges people based on what they were born with. I believe from the start Gojo was a lot deeper thinker than Geto, he needs to have a reason as to why he should protect the weak when that's just what Geto believes without a true meaning to why.

At 6:29 god no I don’t wanna imagine geto blowing out gojos back nah ain’t nothin getting shipped return to sender lol!
Geto simply wasn't ready.
Geto's impacts on Gojo's life:
- Gojo changed his first-person pronoun because Geto told him to (after he left him, of course. He was very much against it at first).
This is a HUGE deal because in Japanese, your preferred first-person pronoun pretty much defines what kind of person you actually are
- Gojo decided to become a teacher to prevent what happened to Geto from happening again
- It is canon that Gojo used Geto as his moral compass during that Riko corpse scene. If Geto had said "yes", Gojo would have become a mass murderer
- Geto's appearance is the reason why Gojo was able to get sealed in the first place.
It doesnt matter how you view their relationship (romantically or platonically). You can never deny the fact that Gojo loves Geto very deeply
You cant return if u already in Jujutsu
U die with manny regret or you either die painfully to be forgotten
you should do a vid like this for the csm trio
