MATERIALS
The viability of any links I’d have provided would depend on the country you’re in. However using the info below, you should have no problem finding the correct materials.
THE PLASTIC
Polycaprolactone (PCL) is a polyester with a low melting point of around 60 °C. It has a few different commercial names including, Polymorph, Multimorph, and Polydoh. You can find it with a simple Amazon or Ebay search of any of these names.
THE POWDER
Strontium Aluminate is also readily available on Amazon and Ebay and can be found from various sellers by doing a search for it. As mentioned The Green and Aqua powders are the brightest, and in natural light have an off-white coloration.

Just finished Netflix Dark Crystal series. During the scene of the Heratic's puppet show I immediately thought of Barnaby Dixon... Stuck around to watch the "making of" episode and it really WAS Barnaby helping create that scene!!! Great work, Barnaby! I loved the inception style puppet show. 😁👍

@@theperson8114 I hadn't seen that video before I watched the series so I wasn't aware yet. The scene was so Barnaby's style though that I wasn't really surprised when I found out. I'm really glad they sought him out to help with the series; he did great!

Also PCL is really good for literally any craft project, cosplay and props included. If you can't deal with super hot temperatures, you can get thermo plastics that melts at lower temperatures!

Serious question though, if you press that plastic into a rubber mould (with surface release I'm assuming), does it pick up detail well?
I've tried using it as a mold but uv resin bonds to the plastic :( It's great for polymer clay tho

Maaaaybe? Lol I guess I effed up. I didn't have any at the time I was experimenting. I'll try it out with some kind of barrier
@@xHarpyx I also had silicone rubber molds in mind since I work with waxes, so I was curious about it. Hope your next experiment runs successful!

Hi! That's a wonderful result! As a puppeteer too, I love descrovering new materials but I also do researches on the new materials I heard about. Puppeteers use a lot of different materials that aren't specially made for their needs (but for industrials needs or whatever. I want to say that a material like this one isn't created for puppeteers in the first place. And when a material is use in a factory, you have recommandations to protect yourself so I wanted to know them).
So I searched informations about the influence of this material on the environnement and the health. I found that you have to wear a mask to protect your nose and your mouth. You also have to open your windows to renew the room air (or doing it outside). For environnemal issues, I just find that you can't put it in a regular trash, you have to go in a specific place to recycle them.
By the way, you can do it at home, but if you care about your health, wear a mask and open the windows. . . That's it. I know a lot of old puppeteers that have health issues because of the materials they used in their career.
I'm french so I did my researches in french and the recommandations are based on the french norms.

You know what bothers me, dabchick who is in a right hand standing in the right corner with fury puppet in the left corner. I first thought it was edited vidoe of two different recordings but that cant be right as the glowing plastic thingy moves around. That leaves only one other possibility, there is someone else who is amazing at impersonating your movements so well that my brain went through this unnecessary confusion.

weird! i always thought it was paint. do you think this method works better than most commercial glow in the dark paints?
